Setting sail
The sea was calm, the sky was clear
We cast the ropes from anchored pier
We waved goodbye as we set sail
We promised much, we will not fail
For days, for weeks we headed north
To Arctic seas which was our course
The cold at first creeps slowly in
And then it pounced with an eager grin
The grip of cold grew bow to stern
We hacked at ice, we took our turn
Soon enough we cast our nets
Guessed our catch, placed our bets
Our holds were large and empty tanks
We land our nets, and give our thanks
And after days of hell and sleepless grind
To our bunks for desperate sleep to find
No sooner did we close our eyes
Than our lookout began to loudly cry
