Extra Awards (Cnt.)

As with the submissions, there will be something new required for those who decide to enter their story into the extra awards. This will also come into play for the Spring Awards 2016.

Before, one would simply send in a story and I would treat it the same way as I treated the other awards. That's going to change. There will be specific things that people who send their stories into the extra awards will have to do. I will lay out the requirements below. They are specific to each award, but you still have to name the extra awards you are entering into when you send in your submission. Don't forget, it will still have to follow the new rules laid out for submissions and also include whatever requirements is necessary for the award you are sending in.

Requirements for Best Written:

If you plan on sending a story into the best written category, you must include a few paragraphs from your story that you believe will show off your talents in writing. You can send in a conversation between characters, a fighting scene, or any scene you've written that you think will highlight your skills at writing. The length doesn't matter; it can be as short or as long as you want. If you want, you can even send in more than one. I recommend sending this in through our private messages, along with all the other submission requirements.

Ex. (I will be using examples from my own stories. You do not have to read):

Title: Sincerely Me

*Category: Jeff the Killer

Extra Awards: Best Written

"My heart drops to my stomach. I step back and lean against the wall for support.

...

A sadness built in my chest at the thought but then I dismiss it. I turn and start walking away from my home." (This is just an example. In the actual awards, it will be posted in full.)

Requirements for Favorite Character:

If you plan on sending a story into the favorite character category, you must include a few paragraphs from your story that you believe will show off why you think that character should be given the award. It does not necessarily have to be the main character. You can do it for any of the creepypastas you have in your story. Whichever character you decide to use, you must be sure to mention in your submission which character you will be using.

You may send in a conversation they had with other characters, funny lines they have said, or even meaningful thoughts/actions the character displayed that you think will show why that character deserves the favorite character award. Length does not matter and you can send in as many 'scenes' as you want. I recommend sending this in through our private messages, along with the other submission requirements.

Ex:

Title: Sincerely Me

*Category: Jeff the Killer

Extra Award(s): Favorite Character

Character in Scene: Gold

"I'm tempted to tell Sally and Widemouth but I decide not to, figuring it would be a better conversation for Slender than for these two. With that in mind, I start walking faster, urging them to follow me at the same pace. Sally speeds up without complaint but Widemouth looks at me suspiciously before following suit. It doesn't long for us to get to see the mansion after we change our pace. As we're rounding the last corner, a familiar person comes around and stops, their shoulder jerking up violently.

...

'Jamie.' I breathe, trying to keep from crying."

Requirements for Best Killing Scenes:

If you plan on sending a story into the best killing scenes category, you must include a few paragraphs from your story that you believe will show off your skill at writing killing or fighting scenes. The scene does not necessarily have to be from the main character. You can use any of the other creepypastas you have in your story. Whichever you decide to use, you must be sure to mention in your submission which character is doing the killing in the scene(s).

You may send in any killing or fighting scene from any character that you think really highlights your skill at capturing the gore and horror of the moment. Length does not matter and you can send in as many scenes as you want. I recommend sending this in through our private messages, along with the other submission requirements.

Ex:

Title: Forgive and Forget Me

*Category: Jeff the Killer

Extra Award(s): Best Killing Scenes

Character in Scene: Jamie

"Jane's head snaps back but, even before the punch landed, I knew it wouldn't do much damage. At my best, I'd probably be able to send her to the ground. Now, she staggers few steps back and clutches at her face.

....

Jane snarls and presses her whole body weight against me. My arms start to shake and I know that I can't hold this for too long. Sweat beads on my forehead and my face twists into a grimace of pain. My arms start shaking. Through the cracks of her mask, I see Jane smile."

I hope these examples helped. If there are still any question that you may have, feel free to leave a comment and I will answer as soon as possible.
