The Accident

WHILE waiting she couldn't stand being in the room so she took the diary and went to the living room. She as still on alert when she sat down opened the diary. She remembered where she was and realised that it was some pages after that the thief tore out.

She groaned. She should have carried it with her.

Then she heard a sound from the kitchen and turned. Was someone there? Was it the thief again?

She stood and went to check it out. Just a bag of salt had fallen from her cabinet which she remembered didn't close properly. It must've fallen by itself.

She shook her head and kept it back. Then she went and continued reading. Even if some pages were missing, she might still discover something.

April 27th.

It's been so long since I made an entry. I've been so caught up with Carter and Gwendolyn. The two of them are real bitches. Yep Carter is a bitch. But that's not what I'm writing about today.

Today I discovered something. Sidney is in a whole mess now.

Sidney? What mess?

I never thought her to be the type to have an affair with a married man. I mean in Eugene's situation it might be justifiable.

Eugene? Sidney and Eugene? Miles' uncle? When did they start? How did they start? So many questions arose in Lisa's head but she read on.

I mean his wife, who just happens to be my bitchy aunt sleeps around and isn't ashamed about it. But Eugene had the decency to not be so public about it. I had seen them in his car which was parked some streets from the school. I was on the way to see Mrs Larr, Betty's best friend's mother.

I decided not to make a big deal but I called Sidney over and I got her to tell me about it. And as if the fact that she's having an affair isn't news enough, she's also pregnant for him.

"What!!", Lisa exclaimed. Sidney was pregnant and if this was June then she would be in her 1st trimester. Wow. She had to look out for her. The bump must really start showing now.

And now she's thinking of aborting it. Can you imagine she was even thinking if I could follow her to the hospital? Hell no! I wouldn't. I have now made it my mission to make sure Sidney doesn't do that. The baby deserves to live and I'll make sure of that. Even if it's the last thing I do.

That was where the entry stopped but Sarah's words kept ringing in her head. Even if it's the last thing I do.

Could it be that Sidney actually killed Sarah because she was stopping her from aborting her baby? No that didn't make sense.

Plus Sidney was talking to someone on the phone when she saw her in Sarah's house that day. And from the way she was talking it was as if that person was the murderer and Sidney was an accomplice.

So that means Sidney knows the killer. She should have gone to meet her since. But what did she have to prove that Sidney was an accomplice? She didn't have any recording of Sidney talking to that person on the phone.

She groaned. This was so stressful. Maybe the few remaining pages had something about Sidney that could be proof. So she read on.

April 29th

So it turns out I'm not a good diary keeper. I'm feeling very sleepy but I just wanna put something down. A month's almost passed and I have very few entries. Today I met with Raven. She told me something I never thought I would hear from her.

First, the reason I met with her was that I got her a gift. A real simple one. I know Raven is someone who doesn't like extravagant stuff so I just got her a hairpin. But it wasn't just any one, it had a very cool design that I just knew she would love.

When I first gave her she seemed cool. She smiled and said she loved it and that she would wear it every day.

And that was when Lisa remembered. She stood and went to her drawer. The hairpin was still there. The one from Sarah's bedroom and she remembered it was for Raven as she had seen Raven wear it on many occasions. She never really noticed but now she thought about it, Raven stopped wearing it after Sarah died.

She just thought she didn't want to again but now she thought back, why was it in Sarah's bedroom?

Was Raven also there like Hugh that evening? Or was it in the morning before the murder?

She went back and continued reading.

We were cool until I got a text from Josh telling me to meet him at his place if I was free. And I was. So I told Raven I was going to meet with Josh and she immediately looked pissed. I asked what was wrong and she said she hated the fact that I was seeing Josh.

This surprised me 'cause I know Lisa didn't like Josh but the way Raven said it, it was like she really and I mean really hated him. I didn't question it and I just left. I haven't spoken to her since and that was in the morning. But I'll see if I can talk to her sometime again.

Well, that wasn't news to Lisa. She knew Raven didn't like Josh, she too didn't like him. So she discarded that and moved on. It was the last entry that was in the diary the others had been torn out.

May 6th

A week to her death, Lisa thought.

I am really mad today. Really really and it has to do with Raven. I can't believe what she actually argued about with me today. I never thought she had such feelings. If I knew I wouldn't have gotten myself in the relationship in the first place.

Woah! What did Raven do? And what relationship is she talking about?

I know Raven is my friend but she really went far today. Calling me a slut. What did I do to deserve that? I know myself and I know I am not a slut. I wish I could tell Lisa or Pablo. But if I do they'll just think it's because she doesn't like Josh but it's different it's....

Lisa looked away from the book when she heard the bell. She kept the diary away and went. It must be Pablo. Good. They could talk about what she just read.

She opened the door and was shocked when she saw Raven. Why was she here?

"Shocked to see me.", she said in a rude tone and pushed past Lisa to enter. And now Lisa was really shocked. What was with the attitude?

"Um hello to you too."

"Don't hello me, you've soured my morning. I can't believe you still have the guts to call Pablo after what happened last night.", Raven said.

Oh, she must have overheard her conversation with Pablo, or she stopped him from coming?

"Why isn't he here?"

"How shameless can you be? You had a boyfriend and you were using Pablo for what, a rebound?", Raven said angrily.

"Woah Raven that is not what was going on between me and Pablo.", she said.

"Oh really. Then what was? 'Cause I know you two weren't dating and you had not broken up with Hugh. You were leading him on, waiting for Hugh to come back."

"Okay. What does that have to do with you? Why are you angry?", she asked.

"Do you know how it broke his heart when he saw you kissing Hugh at the station? And you didn't even look or talk to him. Pablo's never had a girlfriend and I always knew, even if he didn't tell me, I knew it was because of you.", Raven said still angry which shocked Lisa.

Raven was hardly ever angry. She guessed that this wasn't the only thing pissing Raven off.

"Me, how do I have a hand in Pablo's love life?", Lisa asked.

"Because you have always been oblivious to how he felt about you. You never noticed how much he liked you. He has always liked you. But you just kept pushing him to the friend zone.",

Lisa tuned out the rest of Raven's words and settled on the recent one. Pablo always had feelings for her. How come she never noticed, how did she....

"And that's why I'm telling you not to see him again.", she heard and snapped back to the now.

"Excuse me?", Lisa asked. "You can't be serious about that. He's my friend.", she said.

"If he was your friend you wouldn't lead him on."

"I wasn't leading him..."

"You better stay away from him."

"And what you're gonna force me?", Lisa asked.

"Watch me.", was all Raven said before she stomped out, slamming the door.

"Who does she think she is coming here and telling me to stay away from Pablo? She's just his cousin nothing more so why is she so concerned? She's not even his sister.", she said getting angry.

She went to get a drink of water to calm herself. After a long while, she calmed herself and remembered what she was doing. The diary. So she headed back to her couch and picked up the diary. She had resolved she wasn't going to the office today. She had called someone at the office to let them know of this.

But whatever trace of anger left, immediately dissolve into pure shock and from shock to horror as she read the last words in the diary. The last ones before the rest were torn out.

Turns out the thief didn't do the work well and this last entry was enough to tell Lisa what she had been searching for.

She needed to tell someone. Pablo. To heck with what Raven said. He needed to know this. She took her keys and her phone along with the diary.

She was driving at top speed. She had to get there immediately. She was heading to the station but she was also calling Pablo. She sent him three vague voicemails since he wasn't picking up. Gosh, why wasn't he answering?

She dropped the phone. Then it rang again and as she looked down to see who it was, a school bus came from a junction and slammed into her car. Both cars collided with force, but hers was hit off course and it was sent tumbling.

The last thing she remembered was seeing Sidney's name on her screen.

Madisyn entered the station. She purposely didn't go to Moseley even when a police officer told her he was waiting for her.

Instead, she headed down to the cells. She spoke to one of the officers and they allowed her to enter his cell.

"What, you've come here to laugh at me.", he said.

"No.", she said, pity laced in her voice. "How are you planning on getting out of here Robin?", she asked.

He was quiet for a while as he studied her. She didn't look like she was here to mock him. And she seemed honest like she had when she first came. He definitely preferred her to that cocky partner of hers.

"I don't know.", he finally said. "Betty and her friend were thinking of having a fundraiser but it seemed like a shitty reason to me so I told her not to.", he said.

"Yeah, it actually is. But you can't stay here forever.", she said.

"Hmm. Maybe I can. She would have been so ashamed of me.", he said and she knew he was talking about Ana. She brought out the letter and gave him.

"I don't know if this will change anything but I'm sure she would have wanted you to read this.", she said.

When he took the letter she stood and left knowing he would want his privacy. He opened the letter and once knowing what it was, he started to sob.

He really loved her. First, his wife, who cheated on him with his own cousin. He always saw Rohan as a brother but then she cheated on him and she wanted to leave so no one would find out. His wife wanted to leave so she could forget about Rohan but Robin couldn't forget.

Then Lisa. She was some years younger but she was pretty but that also didn't work out as she and Hugh got in a relationship. Now when he thought he had a real shot with Ana. He loved her, she loved him. He was single, she was single. He had even started fantasising about a wedding but death took her away before he could even make a vow.

Oh my. Such a heart-wrenching chapter. We are getting closer to the end guys. I predict like three or four more chapters. This is it. We'll finally find that person. If you have suspects I suggest you keep it till the big reveal. 😁😁
