- June 11th, 2021. 12:00 pm -

Red Alert! That was the only thing running through their minds. After not dealing with anything for so long, James and his squadron finally had something to deal with. They rushed to the briefing room as fast as they could with their minds racing. 4 unidentified flying aircraft have entered the realm without permission and James was hyped for this mission. They were spotted on radar not long ago by the Mulan Self Defense Force. Amelia and Bogo were in the room waiting for them.

Amelia: [Serious look] "Listen up gents! We've detected an unknown 4 aircraft of unknown origins that have entered our airspace. They're classified as F-14D tomcats and they cruising at a normal altitude..." 

James: [Raises an eyebrow]"Tomcats? Now, this is something new. Normally, the New Order would send thousands of fighters. But why four... Something isn't right. And I intend to find out."

Bogo: "...despite our warnings, the 4 tomcats continued to fly into the airspace as our forces engaged them. But surprisingly, they didn't attack. Your mission is simple, find the 4 tomcats and force them to land for Identification. Don't fire on the targets until further orders are transmitted. Dismissed."

After the briefing, James was thinking about this mission that they were about to go on. This was not the first time that they had trespassers before, but the first time that trespassers actually not fighting back. 

Throughout the year, the Disney Royal Navy has been on guard with their borders ever since the New Order came into the picture. Most of the trespassers they encountered were either former Heartless or New Order fighters. But besides that, they still have tensions with the Underworld ever since the war ended. 

While walking to the hangers, Moka noticed that James was lost in his thoughts. She was worried about her flight lead.

Moka: [Walks besides James] "You okay? You've kind of been zoned out about this since the briefing. Is there something on your mind?"

James: [sighs] "Not really..."

Moka: [Worried tone] "Is it because of the mission?"

James: [Looks at Moka] "It's not the mission that I'm worried about. It's the trespassers that I'm worried about."

Moka: [Rasies an eyebrow] "How come?"

James: [Stops walking and looks at Moka] "Many trespassers have come through our borders and they always retaliate. But these trespassers today didn't fight back... I have a bad feeling about this."

Moka: [Smiles and puts a hand on his shoulder] "Everything will be okay. Besides, you already know what would happen if they try to fight back."

James: [Chuckles] "I guess your right. Maybe I'm just getting worried over nothing."

Moka: [Smiles] "It'll be alright. Come on, let's get this mission over with. I know a good place where you can take Katelyn after. I think she'll like it."

James: [Rolls eyes and chuckles] "We shall see... I bet this mission is just an ordinary one."

James and the others head to the hanger and got in their x-wings. Moka got in her x-wing and felt a warm feeling in her chest. Normally when she goes on a mission, she feels no emotion. But for the first time in a while, she felt something. 

Moka: [Shakes head] "Why am I feeling like this? Ever since Boss was shot down, I never felt any emotions. But if I'm right... maybe today is special. Something special might happened today." [Looks at the sky and prays] "If there is a god or great power above... Please let this be the day that I find Boss. Let me have a sense of hope again... Let there be a light... that will guide us out of this enteral darkness, Amen."

Moka put on her lucky necklace, activated her x-wing, and formed up with the others.

- Near the Border of Mongolia, Northern China -

- Mulan Realm -

- 3:00 pm-

Meanwhile. Boss, Rex, and others have arrived in the realm as they flew in the middle of a dessert. Basically, they were in the middle of nowhere. They were discussing the plan and Attessia was not liking it.

Attessia: [Annoyed] "So... Let me gut the straight? You wanted us to barge into a realm without permission, get caught, turn in the prince... So they could kill us!? "

Rex: [Sighs] "No Attessia. The reason why we're doing this is that if we go into a realm without permission, there's a high chance that they're gonna send a squadron of x-wings, take us to their base, and Boss can surprise them with Hey I'm alive."

Attessia: [Shocked and worried] "X-wings!? Oh, hell no! I'm done with this mission man! I don't want to fight an x-wing! Hell, I could barely last against a Mig-29!"

Boss: [Rolls his eyes] "Relax. They're not gonna kill us."

The plan was simple. Barge in the realm without permission, draw them out, bring them to the base and surprise them. Even though it was a simple plan, Attessia thought that it's too dangerous. 

Attessia: [Concern and looks at Boss] "How do you know they're not gonna kill us!? Because the last thing that I want to be is swiss cheese falling out of the sky!"

Boss: [Smiles] "Because I can feel it."

Just before Attessia was about to respond, 9 blimps appeared on their radar and tensions were going through the roof. Samatha looked ahead and spotted a squadron of 9 X-wings heading their way. 8 of them were painted black & gold, while 1 was painted black and white.

Samantha: [holding her flight stick] "Here they come!"

Boss: [Looks around] "Remember. Do not engage them. Let them come."

The X-wings zoomed past them as Boss turned around to get a better view of them. One x-wing stood out the most from the group. It was the black and white x-wing and Boss knew who was flying it. It was James, leading the pack. He wanted to say something but he kept his mouth shut as he didn't want to spoil the surprise. Just then, he noticed that Rex was shaking in fear.

Boss: [Looks at Rex] "Rex, can you hear me?"

Rex: [terrified and nods] "Yeah..."

Boss: [Worried] "What's wrong? You're shaking. Are you having a fever?"

Rex: [Frighten Voice] "No. It's him... The Reaper is here."

Boss looked back and knew exactly who she was talking about. As he looked back at James, he can understand why they were afriad. If there is one he knew about him, is that he struck fear in the hearts of every enemy he faced because of his colors. He looked back at Rex trying to calm her down.

Boss: [Puts an arm on her shoulder] "Rex. Calm down, I'm here. Don't worry. You're gonna be fine."

The x-wings surrounded them causing them to fear for their lives. There was nowhere to run. Just then, their radio frequencies were hacked and a familiar voice came through the radio. It was Moka.

Moka: "Testing, Testing... Attention unified aircraft, you have entered restricted airspace. Set your course to our beacons immediately."

Rex looked at Boss with fear. He has never seen her like this before. This was the first time she behaved like this. 

Rex: [Shaking in fear] "What do I do?"

Boss: [Calming her down] "Just do as they say."

Rex and her squadron did exactly as they were told as they set their course to the x-wings beacon. Rex was shaking in fear as Boss put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. He never saw her like that before. Moka's voice came back to the radio.

Moka: [Looks at the Tomcats] "We will direct you to our base. Rock your wings if you understand."

They rocked their wings and they were in their custody. Boss watched as James flew above them and talked to them in a frightened voice that scared everyone, except for Boss.

James: [Growls] "You 4 have got some nerve to come here. I swear to the gods If you are part of the New Order, I'll shoot you down and leave you to rot in the desert below. If you dare to attack us, I'll shoot you down and leave you to rot. So, stick with us or I'll kill you. Got it? Good."

Boss was surprised to hear him talk like that. That was the first time he heard him like that. He never talked like that before in any mission when they were together. He noticed that Rex and the others were at his mercy.

Boss: [Concern] "So this is James' true form when on a mission. I guess he was like this ever since I was shot down. I just hope he isn't like that permanently."

James took the lead as they were flying over deserts, villages, mountains, and many other regions. No one said a word to each other during the flight, but little did they know, they are gonna get the biggest surprise of their life.

- Mulan Airforce Base, Himalayan Mountains -

- Mulan Realm -

- 6:00 pm -

By the time they arrived at the base, everyone was waiting for them outside to see who they brought in. Rex and her friends were shaking in fear as they were scared of their minds. Boss couldn't blame them since it was their first time being a base filled with Humans, Zootopians, etc... They parked their tomcats in front of a hanger and didn't move. James and his squadron landed in a nearby hanger as they were making their way toward them. Boss put on a fighter pilot helmet so he could surprise everyone. Rex along with the others opened their canopies as soldiers from the base surrounded their tomcats.

James: [Looks at the soilders]"Don't fire, unless I say so."

Rex and her squadron walked up to James as they looked at him with calm and cool composers. But deep down they were terrified of him. Boss, on the other hand, was examing James to see what will he do next.

James: [Serious tone] "The soldiers are gonna take you for identification, so don't do anything reckless okay?" [Notices Boss behind her with a flight helmet on] "You, what's your name?"

Rex: [Nervous laugh] "Uh... Forgive him. He doesn't speak. He's Marcus. My copilot."

James: [Raises an eyebrow] "Marcus, huh? I see." [Looks at the soldiers] "Take them for Identification." [Looks at Boss] "This one is mine."

Rex was about to protest as the soldiers began to take her and her squadron. Rex looked at Boss with worried eyes. But Boss looked at her and told her that he'll be alright. By the time they were gone, Moka and the others arrived and noticed James with the mysterious pilot. But for some reason, Moka had a warm feeling when she saw the mysterious pilot. 

James: [Walks around Boss like a shark] "So, you don't speak. Funny, last time someone said that. I made him talk. You're not the first one who pulled this trick off." [Boss rolled his eyes] "So how about you stop acting like you don't speak and say something."

James and his squadron began to surround him and Boss knew he was outnumbered. If he wanted to, he could summon his weapons and pinned them to the ground. But he smirked as he looked at James.

Marcus(Boss): [Chuckles and puts hands up] "Fine, you've caught me. I can speak."

James: "As I thought, you and your friends are up to something aren't you?" [Goes up to him and pulls out a gun] "If you dare to hurt any of my friends. I'll kill you first."

Boss was really aggravated at this point. James was not like this with anyone and it was about time he tested him.

Marcus (Boss): [crosses his arms] "Hmph. Try as you might. You won't kill me. You don't have the guts."

James: [Raises an eyebrow] "Do you want to bet on that?"

Marcus(Boss): [Smirks] "Oh, I do. In Fact, what would Boss say if saw you threatening an unarmed prisoner."

James put the gun up to Marcus's chin as he slammed him into the wall. Marcus grunts and was surprised by how strong James was. He was not gonna back down, not even if he was his own buddy.

James: [Growls] "Why did you say that name?"

Marcus (Boss): [Chuckles] "Because I can. What are you gonna do about it?"

James: [Growls] "I'll kill you."

Marcus (Boss): [Smirks] "Hmph. Try as you might."

He pushed James off as he kicked the gun out of his hand. It was up in the air before he backflipped onto the tomcat and caught the gun. Smirking at them. Moka and their others pointed the guns at him. He knew he was outgunned.

James: [Chuckles and smirks] "You're outnumbered, Marcus. Surrender now and I promise to kill you quickly."

Boss was upset by what he heard, he stepped down from the tomcat and threw the gun aside walking up to him. He was done playing, time to knock some sense into him.

Marcus(Boss): [Walks up to his face] "Is this how you were ever since Boss was shot down!? Threatening unarmed prisoners, scaring children, and raining death upon the enemy and the land!? What the hell is wrong with you!?"

James growled in frustration when he heard him talk like that. He wasn't going to back down either.

James: [Puts a finger on his chest] "What do you know about me!? You know nothing! In fact, you look like someone from the New Order. You wouldn't give a damn about killing families and raining death upon the land! Your kind experimented on children and turned them into super-soldiers!"

Marcus(Boss): [Stands his ground] "That may be true about them. However, they were once people, and many of them were forced against their will to join them. All they need is a spark of hope to guide them back to the light! Not some damn Grim Reaper who is probably just flying around the multiverse and killing them without mercy."

Moka: "Hey!" [Marcus(Boss) looks at her] "Don't talk to him like that!"

Marcus(Boss): [Growls] "Really? We'll then. Let me ask you this? If you knew he was doing this, why didn't you correct him or stop him, huh?! Did you let him do as he pleases?!"

Moka was about to respond to him, but nothing came out of her mouth. He was right, she didn't correct him or did anything.

Marcus(Boss): [Looks at his freinds] "Are you all like this?!"

Everyone looked at him with sad expressions and Boss couldn't believe that no one said a word. They were all like this. They were lost, confused, they didn't know what was right or what was wrong. Boss looked at Iahfy who had tears streaming down her face. He was heartbroken when he saw her like this.

Iahfy: [Tears streaming down her face] "He was our light. He was our beacon guiding us through a difficult time. But with him gone, I don't give a damn about what's right or wrong anymore. I don't know who to trust... I don't even trust my own squadron!"

Everyone looked at her and was surprised. James felt heartbroken when she said that. Throughout the year, he never tried once to bring them closer together. He was so dedicated to keeping everyone alive that he didn't pay attention to their feelings. He felt like he failed as a captain. He made them like this. Boss realized that they really needed him and it was time to relieve himself.

Marcus(Boss): [Sighs and put a hand on his hip] "Looks like you've been through hell." [Looks at James] "I'm sorry that I couldn't come to help sooner... Buddy..."

James: [Looks at him with confusion] Buddy?"

James was confused for a moment before Boss took off the mask and discarded it. He then slipped off the flight helmet without drawing up the visor, holding it under his arm, and letting James and the others see all of him. Like a ghost from the past, Boss revealed himself but not as a mysterious unknown pilot, but as the kid that they thought died over the Thatanos Mountains.

Marcus/Boss: [Smiles at them] "Hey guys, long time no see."

James and the others were stunned in disbelief. Their eyes were wide as pancakes because standing in front of them was no other than the Prince of Disney. Moka dropped the gun and slowly walked up to him with tears streaming down her face. She didn't know if she was dreaming or hallucinating at the moment.

Moka: [Tearing up] "B-Boss?" [Puts a hand on his cheek] "Is it really you?"

Boss: [Smiles and leans into Moka's Palm] "Yes, Moka... It's me."

Moka looked at Boss for a few seconds before jumping on him and crying out his name. The others felt tears streaming down their faces before they ran up to him and gave him the biggest hugs ever. Boss was happy to be with them again and he could tell that they had missed him big time. But out of all of them that ran up to him, James was frozen in shock by what just happened. Standing in front of him was no other than his thought to be dead flight lead and best friend. Boss noticed that James was frozen still as the others looked at him.

Boss: [Concern] "James? You okay?"

James walked up to him and clenched his fist together. He reared his left arm and gave Boss the deepest gut punch he could ever muster up. Boss's spit shot out of his mouth and stumbled onto the ground gasping for air.

Moka & Iahfy: "Boss!"

They ran up to him as they lifted him up. James's eyes started to water up as he looked at him in the eyes. Moka looked at him with anger.

Moka: [Looks at Jamees] "Why did you do that?!"

Boss: [Gasping and Wheezing] "No... It's okay. I've deserved it."

Iahfy and Moka help Boss up as he dusted himself off. They backed away as Boss looked at James who had tears streaming down his face. Boss has never seen James like this before in his life. The great Grim Reaper was crying like a little kid. He was heartbroken to see him like this.

Boss: [Puts a hand on neck] "James, I..."

James: [Looks at him in anger with tears streaming down his face] "Do you have any idea how much hell we've been through!?"

Boss: [Shocked] "I... Uh..."

James: [Walks up to his face] "No, You don't! Because you were never there! You were hiding for one God Damn year! Where were you when you were alive this whole time, huh!? Why didn't you come back when we needed you the most!? WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME!?"

Boss: [Tries to calm him down] "James. I know you're a little frustrated, but let me explain..."

James: [Points a finger at him] "Oh, you bastard! A little frustrated!? You have the fucking balls to pull this BS on me!" [Tears flow harder] "I watch you die over the Thanatos mountains. I watched you crash and burn, calling for help. I went on every single rescue mission to find you, but you weren't there. I went to every realm searching for you! I killed so many New Order soldiers to find you! I lost so many comrades just to find you! And now you have the audacity to show up here with a squadron of F-14 tomcats, AND SAY I'M ALIVE!? DAMN YOU, BOSS!"

Before James could sock him again. Boss hugged him before giving him a chance. James couldn't control his emotions as he buried his head into his shoulder crying his eyes out. It was heartbreaking for Boss to see his buddy like this. This was the last thing that he wanted to see from him. Boss can feel James shaking in despair and he was comforting him as if he was his brother. 

James: [Sobbing and hugs him tighter] "Idiot..."

Boss: [Smiles and comforts him] "I'm here buddy, I'm here."

After a couple minutes of crying, Boss and the others went to the cafeteria where it was just them alone and no one else. James put a hand on his forehead trying to process what just happened in the last few minutes. This was too much for him to take in. Boss was comforting James and Moka was sitting next to him, while Iahfy was sitting in front of him. 

James: [Sighs] "Dammit, Man. I thought you really died..." [Looks at him] "What Sora did he..."

Boss: [Puts hand on James' shoulder] "I know, buddy. I know... and I'm sorry for not coming sooner."

James: [Turns his attention to Boss] "Where were you all this time? Why didn't you come back?"

Boss: [Sighs] "Based on what I was told after the crash, I was in a coma for an entire year."

Moka: [Widen her eyes] "One whole year?"

Boss: [Looks at Moka and the others] "Yeah, sounds crazy, but it's true. And I learned a lot after what happened after the nuclear explosions." [Looks at James] "About the New Order, the invasions, and stuff. Seems like so much has happened in less than a year."

James: [Chuckles] "You have no idea...."

They fell silent for a few minutes before Boss broke the ice.

Boss: "So, who took my place after I was gone? And what's new?"

Jess: [Points at James] "He did. I have to say, he did a decent job. But out of the missions that we've done through the year. This was the best one of all time. Also, you're gonna have a crack at this." [Smirks and leans on her knee] "James and Katelyn are dating now."

Boss looked at James who just looked away in embarrassment. He wrapped an arm around his shoulder and smirked at him.

Boss: [Grins] "So not only you took my place as captain, but your dating Katelyn now, huh? I see you, lover boy. You've changed since we last saw each other."

James: [Chuckles and smirks] "Oh, please. Don't get me started on you."

Boss: [Smirks] "What do you mean?"

James: [Smirks] "You're different. When I pointed that gun at you, you seemed cocky and valiant. Then you kicked the gun out of my hand like a badass."

Boss: [Gives him the look as he crosses his arms] "That's because you had a gun on my face and I was defending myself. What am I supposed to do, let you put a bullet in my head?"

James: [Smirks] "Yes..."

Boss rolled his eyes in annoyance as everyone laughed at him. It was good to see them again and James had something to say to Boss before he forgot.

James: [Sad Tone] "Boss?"

Boss: [Looks at James] "What's up James?"

James got up and did a 90-degree bow to him, catching everyone by surprise. Even Boss was stunned by what just happened. He definitely changed.

James: [Bows] "I'm sorry..."

Moka and the others stood by James's side and did the same thing, bowing their heads to him and Boss was confused.

Boss: [Embarrassed] "Come on guys. Raise your heads. It's fine."

James: [Looks at him] "It's not fine. What you said was true. We did threaten unarmed prisons, we didn't give a damn about what's right or wrong, and we did rain dead upon the land. We failed as Guardians. I failed as a leader. If there is anyone that should be punished, it should be us."

Boss looked at his friends and could tell that they deserved to be punished. As much as Boss didn't want to punish them, he let out a sigh as he crossed his arms. He was gonna punish them a little bit.

Boss: [Crosses his arms] "Fine. James for your punishment. You are demoted from Captain and will be placed as... uh. What's the name of your squadron?"

James: [Looks at Boss] "Guardian squadron."

Boss: [Nods] "Okay. You'll be placed as Guardian Teams #2. Understood?"

James: [Smiles at him] "Yes sir."

Boss: "As for the rest of you..." [They looked at him and Boss just smiled at them] "Tell me everything that happened while I was gone."

James and the others salute Boss who just smiled at them. Just then, everyone started to notice his return. Yazline, Grandpa Aren, Amelia, Doppler, Bogo, and others ran up to him to welcome him back. Rex and the others soon joined them and Boss introduced them to his friends. Some of the guys didn't trust Rex and her squadron since they were demons and former members of the Heartless Airforce, but Boss explained what they did for him. It was a happy day for the Disney Armed Forces.

- 10:00 pm -

Later on that night, Rex and her squadron were given a room that was near Boss and they didn't mind it. He was just happy to be back with his friends and that's all he wanted. While he was relaxing in his own room and watching some TV, he heard a knock on the door. 

Boss: [Looks at the door] "Who could it be at this hour?"

He looked at his watch before he made his way to the door. At first, he assumed that it was one of the Base's janitors. Because they mostly come at 10 pm to collect the trash. But as soon as Boss opened the door, It was Moka. And she was standing in front of his door while wearing a white robe.

Boss: [Shocked] "M-Moka... You okay?"

Moka: [Blushes] "Yeah... I'm okay. Mind if I come in?"

Boss: [Hesitates before nodding] "Um... sure." [Steps aside to let her in]

Moka walked into his room as Boss shut the door behind him. Moka was fidgeting a little bit and Boss noticed this as well. She looked around and noticed that Boss remade his room and it looked better than before. She noticed that he kept the picture of them in the Delta team on Achilles. She couldn't help but smile at the picture. They sat on his bed and sat down in awkward silence before Moka spoke up.

Moka: [Sad expression] "Can't believe that it's been a whole year since I last saw you... Everyone thought that you were dead."

Boss: [Slightly nods] "Yeah, it's crazy."

Moka: [Slightly chuckles] "Yeah." [Looks at him] "Boss, I want to tell you something."

Boss: [Looks at Moka] "What's up?"

Moka: [Blushes. Hops on the bed and sits on her heels] "I want to let you know that I was looking for you ever since you were shot down. I refused to believe that you were dead and now here we are. One year later, sitting next to each other."

Boss smiled at Moka as she leaned in and kissed him on the lips catching him by surprise. He leaned into the kiss before they both looked at each other while their foreheads touch.

Moka: [Smiles] "I'm glad that you are back." [Puts a hand on his cheek] "All of the nightmares that I dealt with... all the suffering that I went through... all the comrades that I've lost throughout the year... and all the tears that I've shed... was worth it in the end. Thank you, Boss... Thank you for making it worth it."

Boss: [Blushes] "Moka..."

She got up in front of Boss and took off the robe. She was only wearing a black bra with a black tight thong. Boss blushed when he saw her expose herself. Truth be told, Moka got embarrassed for what she did. But she didn't care. All she wanted... was to be with Boss and embrace him. She sat on his lap as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Moka: [Smiles] "All this time, I've been lying to myself... Saying that I never liked you nor will I ever date you... But now that I look back at it. I was stupid and stubborn. I know that there were times were I treated you like shit... I know that there were times when I blame you for the littlest things... I'm not perfect. I admit that. But I will say this... after you were shot down... I finally recognized my true feelings..." [Presses her forehead against his] "I... I love you... and I want to show you how much I love you."

Boss: [Nervously Gulps] "Moka... I... um..."

Moka: [Blushes] "Please... Just for tonight..."

Boss nodded his head before he kissed her gently and pinned her to the bed while he looked down at her. Her bright golden eyes, her beautiful pale skin, her curves, and a smile that could light up his world from the darkness. She was like a fallen angel. Her eyes were telling him not to hold back as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She was beautiful and Boss couldn't hold back anymore. He started kissing her neck, making her moan in satisfaction before she reached for the lamp and shut off the light. 

The night was still young for the two of them as they went at it. From that day onward, Moka made a promise to herself. She was not gonna let him die again. She would give up her life for him. She knows that he would do the same for her. For Moka, Boss was her everything. He was the light that guided her out of the darkness, he was her reason to fight, he was her reason to live, he was the most important thing in the multiverse, and he was the only one to make her feel like this. It was at that moment that Moka realized... Boss was her missing piece.

Aw, will you look at that... Boss reunited with his friends and Moka is happy to see him again. This is only the beginning of something great. Marco: [Puts an arm on my shoulder] "Author-san, you losing your cool again. You're turning in a baboon."

Me: [Blushes in embarrassment] "Oh right." [Clears throat] "Sorry about that... Anyway, let's keep it up gang we have to get ready for the next update! Let's make this story a banger!"

Everyone: "YEAH!"
