"There's a big hole up in the deck. If we connect that to Knowhere, we can lead the survivors to safety." (Y/n) said as they run down the hall. "Nebs and me will pilot the ship. You guys save all the higher life forms." Rocket said as he and Nebula split off from the others.

Drax, Gamora, Mantis and Groot go to save the kids and other creatures when Adam Warlock, who isn't dead, was about to attack Groot but he falls over and passes out.

Peter, (y/n) and Meredith run in towards the deck when they see three guards as they turn and aims their guns at them. They trio stop and raise their hands up. "Kill us if you want, but then good luck gettin' out of here." Peter tells them and the guards still aim their weapons but don't fire as they let the trio go.

"Wait!" One guard said. "Let them go, Flecktick...it's our only chance." The second guard tells him as Peter presses his comms button. "We got a space big enough to get through. We gotta find out if we can change it to a permeable shield." Peter said as (y/n) hits the shield on the wall.

Nebula then starts to pilot one side of the ship as she told Rocket to go help the others since he couldn't fly it with the flight controls damaged. Peter and Meredith, with the help of Gizmo, goes to work on the shield when they hear Gamora shout. "Come on, come on, come on! Go, go! Go, go, go!" 

They turn and see Gamora leading a crew of children as Groot carries Adam's unconscious body. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Stop, stop!" Gamora shouts as she and the group stop right at the shield right as they get closer to Knowhere.

Nebula and Kraglin do their best to get as close to each other as possible. Finally, they get the deck area right up to the right eye of the head. "Okay, Cosmo, stitch it up! It needs to be airtight for the kids to make it across." (Y/n) orders and Cosmo leans down. "Locking up, Kapitan." Cosmo said as she concentrates when the ships bump into each other. 

The kids scream right as Peter connects a couple of wires and the yellow shield turns blue, the kids cheer and the people of Knowhere begin to help them through. "One by one! One by one!" Gamora commanded as her, Mantis and Drax shepard then kids through. Groot makes it through and sets Adam's body down as Nebula said, in the comms. "Locking in and headed down." She said and she starts to make her way to the others.

Adam wakes up and looks up at Groot, shocked and surprised. "Why?" He asked and Groot looks at him. "Why ate you doing this? I tried to kill you." Adam said, confused. "I am Groot." Groot said. "He says, everyone deserves a second chance." Drax translates as he continues to usher kids through.

Cosmo begins to whimper and stumble a bit, which made the ship shift. Mantis runs over to her and places her hands on Cosmo. "You are strong." Mantis said and Cosmo gets back up and concentrates again. "Why are you so slow? Hurry!" Peter and (y/n) hear Nebula shout and they turn to see her running in with more kids.

"Where's Rocket?" Peter asked her. Nebula looked startled then she turns behind her then back at the others, worried.

Meanwhile, Rocket was helping some kids but then he heard some animal noises and he looks ahead to see a room full of cages with other animals inside. He walks up to one cage to see several baby raccoons. He stares at them then uses the key card he made all those years ago and opened the cage.

He looks at them then at the door to see they had several different names but one said that they were indeed, raccoons. The little raccoons walk up to him and one touches his snout and he begins to gather them up and they climb all over him. He starts to feel tears run down his face as he sees several other animals in cages.

"You!" A voice shouts and Rocket gasps and turns to see the High Evolutionary, the baby raccoons scatter. "You thought you could escape me!" He shouts as he charges at Rocket then uses his power to lift Rocket up, making him hit the roof.

"No!" He shouts as he flings Rocket over into another part of the lab, making him hit against exposed wires. "You think you have some worth in and of yourself, without me?" High Evolutionary said as Rocket falls to the ground and groans. "No!" High Evolutionary said, again then slams Rocket up against a wall. "You ate an abomination! Nothing more than a step on my path, you freakish little monster!" High Evolutionary screams and he flings Rocket around the room.

"How dare you think you are more, 89P13?" High Evolutionary screams as Rocket strains then pushes a button on his boot and was able to bypass High Evolutionary's power then lands down, which catches the mad scientist by surprise.

"The name's Rocket. Rocket Raccoon." Rocket said as he aims his gun, cocks it then fires. High Evolutionary gets blown back and he screams and charges at Rocket but Groot comes in and grabs him and pushes him back where Drax comes in.

Drax grabs the High Evolutionary and flips him over him, slams him down on the ground and punches him a few times before he gets back up. Drax then punches him and he goes flying as Peter and Meredith shoot him with their blasters. 

He flies up and Mantis jumps and kicks him across the face then Nebula shoots him, making fly back. (Y/n) slides in, stands up, grabs him and slams him down on the ground. He gets up but then Gamora comes in and stabs him in the stomach. 

He cries out and Gamora grabs him by the neck and pulls her blade out of him. She then noticed on the side of his head was loose skin and she sets her sword down and begins to peel back the skin, which then turned into his whole face coming off and him falling back.

"His face came off!" Drax exclaimed as Meredith gags at this. "It's a mask." Rocket said as he walks up to High Evolutionary. "Look what you did to me." He cried as they see his face was badly scared, the left side of the skin around his mouth was gone and his nose was completely gone.

He basically looked like a skeleton skull with some skin still on it.

"For what? All I wanted to do was to make things perfect." High Evolutionary said as Meredith turned her head away from him, her eyes closed. (Y/n) places a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You didn't wanna make things perfect. You just hated things the way they are." Rocket said to him.

"Kill him." Drax demanded and Rocket stares at the High Evolutionary for a moment then lowers his gun. "Why?" Drax asked Rocket. "Because I'm a freaking Guardian of the Galaxy." Rocket said, proudly, when an explosion happens behind them. They turn to look to see a big fireball happens and Gamora turns to the others.

"We have to get outta here now." She said as she starts to run. "We have to save them." Rocket said. "We've got all the kids on board." Peter tells him. "No, Pete. The rest of them." Rocket said as he gives a pleading look to the others.

Later the gang leads a army of animal into Knowhere. "Though we were limiting ourselves to the higher life forms?" One citizen asked. "Yeah, well, me too." (Y/n) said as they herd the animals in, including the Abilisks. "I cannot hold much longer..." Cosmo said, straining, as the High Evolutionary's ship begins to break and fall apart.

"Run! Go! Go!" Peter shouts as he and the Guardians begin to run out of the ship as it tilts back and Cosmo strains to keep it steady but she could feel herself getting weak. Nebula, Mantis, Drax, Rocket, Meredith and (y/n) were able to jump through before Cosmos faints.

Peter was not far behind but then his zune fell out of his pocket and he goes to grab the runs. "Quill! Hurry!" Drax said as the ship started to fall back and Peter was just barely at the top before he falls through the collapsed floor. "Peter!" (Y/n) shouts. "Dad?!" Meredith cries.

Peter lands on the lower part of the deck then gets up and begins to run, grabs a cable and runs along with it then jumps out and aims the cable towards the ship where it launched him towards Knowhere. But unfortunately, he was too far away from them.

"NO! PETER!!" (Y/n) cries as everyone stares in shock as ice begins to form around Peter's face. (Y/n) goes to turn on her jet boots but they short circuit on her and she looks down to see that they somehow had gotten damaged. Groot yells and cries as he tries to reach out to him with his roots but the ice of space froze his growing roots. "DADDY!" Meredith screams, fearfully, as Peter's face starts to bloat.

But before he dies, Adam Warlock comes in, grabs him and flies him back to the others just as the High Evolutionary's ship explodes one more time. Adam and Peter slide across the platform and stop, (y/n) and Meredith run over to them as Adam sits up. "Peter?!" (Y/n) said, panicked, as she turns Peter on his back, his face swollen.

"Daddy?" Meredith asked as everyone gathers around him. "Did that look cool?" Peter asked, in a strained voice, and (y/n) laughs, tearfully. "You idiot." She whispers and she kisses his cheek then helps him to sit up and hugs him as Meredith let's out a sob and hugs him too. As well as Groot, Nebula, Rocket, Mantis and Drax and a few other citizens go to embrace him.

Cosmo comes up and licks his face. "Cosmo. I'm okay." Peter said as Adam, awkwardly, goes to be in the group hug while Gamora stares at the group hug and leaves.
