Teens are wonderful writers. They learn to improve. To many it is fun. Others discover it is tragic. Their eyes bulge, limbs tremble and lock in place. Pacing affect many. Sweat pops from the brows and under the arms. They need the assistance of seasoned writers who are secure and confident in their writing. Writers who discern a different language applies to various. groups
Teens have a language older adults often do not understand. Time is precious to those under twenty. As a result they will abbreviate phrases with with two or three letters like lol, bf or omg. As teens become adults the abbreviations follow them. Older adults believe this is an abuse of tradition.
Texting has revolutionized the way we think and write. If we refuse to embrace it, we miss a younger audience. Some would say we are bigots. Some genres are inspired by a younger readers. Bigot may be a hard reference. However, it applies to those unbending souls who believe only a select few have the right to dictate use of writing. The above is just one person's opinion.
