The map

This update took a little longer than I planned to get out, but it's still out! I hope you enjoy the update and I'll see you at the end!

Things were actually going well for once. Nobody had seen Virgil, they hadn't been beheaded, but they were constantly out doing things for the King. None of them knew what the king was looking for but whatever it was it was extremely important to the King. The only thing they knew about this item was that it was magical, but other than that they didn't know.

Another thing they didn't know was why them, why were they chosen to get this mysterious object? Logan theryoised it was because they weren't appalled by the idea of magic but Janus says that if that were true they would have been beheaded for plotting against the King, it had been done before. As you can see none of these questions have yet to be answered.

After they came back from the ring mountain range with only stories of ferocious beasts and empty hands they were sent on little trips around the kingdom. After a month of little trips the King finally decided that they were ready for another big trip. This trip was to the kingdom of Saorise, which may sound familiar to you. If it does sound familiar then extra points to you. If you can think as to why it's so dangerous then even more points for you. Now for those of you who don't remember/know,

Saorise is the kingdom of the South. This kingdom is currently at war with Terrasen over a piece of land. If anyone was to find out that Remus was the King's son then they would have his head. So going there was a huge risk to Remus, but the King's orders can't be denied unless you want to lose your head, though to Remus it would have made no difference.

Another problem with this trip was the route. The normal route was know a war zone. The water path would take them to Saoirse but that takes way too long and the waters are really rough. The other option was to follow the border of Nefeli this way they were away from the war plus it was the 2nd fastest option, the war zone having been the fastest when it wasn't a war zone. But the only problem was the harsh winter storms that came from nowhere. The winters there never went away and seemed even stronger in the summer. This part of the land is called 'The Cursed White'.

None of these options seemed any good until Virgil spoke up.

"We should do the Nefile route"

Logan was surprised the Virgil would suggest that route considering how close he lived to it. He should surely know of the terrible harsh year long winter that happened there.

"The winter's too harsh."

Virgil gave Logan the confused look they had all become used to over the mouth they'd known Virgil.

"Nefile doesn't have harsh winters."

Logan was beyond confused, but Remus wasn't.

"You want us to go through Nefile..."

Virgil nodded his head.

"We'll stay along the border just on the opposite side."

Logan nodded his head as he marked out the route on his map. This plan could actually work. Remus was starting to feel more confident in his decision to bring Virgil back, and Janus could see it.

"Let's just hope the King doesn't find out about our new route."

They all nodded in agreement, but none of them seemed too concerned. The King never checked how they did things, so they really had nothing to worry about.

"You know since we're going to a new kingdom don't you think it's time to give Virgil a makeover~"

For the past month Virgil had been wearing Remus's tunics and they had yet to get around to doing his hair.

Janus looked at Remus and Remus looked at Janus. They smiled at each other, communicating silently. Neither Virgil or Logan understood what was happening, which was kind of the point of silent communication.

Roman had been going to Patton's a lot throughout the month. Patton wouldn't say he hated it but when you're trying to work it isn't fun to have someone clinging to your side. This is why Patton opted to confront Logan about his secrecy. Roman had liked the idea but it would have to wait considering he was out, he had left that morning.

"Well we can talk to him when he gets back!" Patton internally wished he would be back soon.

"Or we could find out ourselves." Roman suggested slyly.

Patton swore Roman sounded just like Remus, and it made Patton think about just how similar the two were. Of course they had there differences, there differences are usually what everyone focuses on.

Patton tilted his head to the side, "What do you mean?"

Roman didn't answer the question until the next night. Roman had snuck into Patton's room in the middle of the night. Roman shook Patton awake. Patton sat up once he realized Roman was there.

"Roman? What's going in?" Patton rubbed his eyes, suppressing a yawn.

"We're gonna find out what's up with Logan."

It had taken a little longer than Roman had thought to convince Patton to go with him but alas Patton agreed. Patton quickly packed some clothes and scribbled out a note for his mom. Patton wasn't required to work at the bakery, and his mother had just hired new staff so she should be fine.

As they galloped away Patton couldn't help but think that things were about to be a lot different. He wasn't sure if it was going to be a bad or a good difference all he knew was that things weren't going to stay the same after this.

There ride was silent, Patton too scared of swallowing a fly and Roman too preoccupied in his own thoughts. But the moment they stopped to rest Patton started asking questions.

"How do you even know where he's going?"

Roman smirked and waltzed over to his horse. He dug through his saddle bag, pulling out a yellowish map. Patton walked over to Roman as he rolled out the map, smoothing it out on his horse. Patton saw it was a map of the lands, Logan's handwriting all over it, but the most prominent thing wasn't Logan's writing but the route drawn in red.

"Remus should really hide stuff like this." Roman said, pride filling his voice.

"You shouldn't go through your brother's stuff, Chaton" Patton spoke in his best dad voice.

Roman rolled up the map, placing it back into his saddle bag.

"I did it for Logan,"

Patton couldn't argue with this. Roman was genuinely concerned for Logan, and Patton just couldn't be mad at Roman for being concerned. Patton decided to let it go just this once.

Chaton = Kitten in French
For that nickname I would like to thank Maybay4 again.

I just realized that the titles don't really sum up the whole chapter the way I feel titles should, but I'm to lazy to actually think about it. If you guys have any ideas for chapter titles let me know. I hope you have a wonderful day, afternoon, or night, and until next time you beautifly magnificent beans!

Bye!
