The guardian
Hello! I don't really have anything to say this chapter so... I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you at the end!
"I can't believe I listened to you again Remus"
After a while of just sitting in the revene the group decided to try and get out of there. When they started walking they found that they were right outside where the path had come to an abrupt stop. This was the place they had entered the maze of revenes. Janus was ecstatic and was eager to leave, but neither Remus of Logan had that same enthusiasm. Somehow Logan and Remus convinced Janus to go back into the cyclops filled revene. Janus was deeply regretting his decision.
This time they were more prepared. They had food and water with them, they also got the spare sword for Remus. Logan also grabbed his satchel with some other stuff other than food and water in it.
"What if we run into those giants again! Oh god, we should just leave"
"That you should."
The group looked up, shocked by the voice, to find the male from before. Janus deflated. Logan inflated. Remus just frowned and crossed his arms, looking in the opposite direction of the man. He was still mad at him for leaving him hanging upside down.
Janus looked up at the winged male. The man was sitting on the edge of the revene. He had one leg dangling off the edge(Bottom of the bottle is my only friend. I'm sad) while the other was bent. He had his arms crossed and resting on the bent knee/right knee, and his chin resting on his forearms. Janus looked back down and turned back the way they came.
"The guardian has spoken, come on."
Janus started walking as Remus clicked his tongue making a 'tch' sound. Logan barely seemed to register what Janus had said as he continued to scribble into his notebook. Janus honestly didn't care if they were following him. He was tired and ready to leave this hell maze. Suddenly he was knocked back by a huge gust of wind. Logan's notebook was blown out of his hand and Remus's mustache went crooked.
In front of Janus stood the male. His violet eyes blazing with purple flames. His big white wings flapped once more, sending up a cloud of dust. Instead of tightly folding his wings like he had done previously he kept them loose. He looked ready to attack. It was like looking at a vicious predator that you knew you had no chance against.
"What did you call me."
Janus gluped. His palms were clammy and his knees felt weak. Logan hadn't even gone to pick up his notebook, his hands were also clammy and his knees weak. Remus was also feeling the effects of the man's stare, he hadn't even tried to fix his mustache. Janus took a couple deep breaths mustering all the courage he could.
"G-guardian?"
Janus mentally cursed himself for stuttering. Later, when looking back at the situation, he would wonder what Remus and Logan had thought about him stuttering. In truth neither Remus or Logan noticed the stutter, both of them just as scared as Janus.
The male scowled, making a growling sound in the depths of his throat. The male narrowed his eyes a little more and tilted his head up a little ways. He clenched his fist and bared his teeth, showing off the sharp ones. His wings widened looking a little bigger. He looked even more intimidating now.
"How do you know about that."
Logan was overcoming the initial shock. He absent mindedly thought, that didn't sound much like a question... The thought didn't stay in his mind for long, becoming long forgotten in a matter of seconds, but it was proof that his mind was becoming attentive. Logan pushed up his glasses and answered the man's half-question.
"It was just an assumption."
Logan turned around to get his book. When he turned around the man was closer to him. Logan's breath was taken away, the man's eyes were so captivating. Logan barely registered the man's moving lips, his eyes were just so beautiful, breathtaking if you will.
"Assumption?"
Know that sounds like a question, Logan thought in the back of his mind. It would have been at the front of his mind if he hadn't been thinking about the bright violet eyes staring straight at him. Remus cleared his throat, bringing Logan out of his trance.
"Oh, Remus thought he saw something worth protecting, so he called you a guardian." Logan quickly explained.
"Oh, don't tell him our names" Janus complained. Know that those violet eyes weren't staring at him he felt much more comfortable.
Remu rolled his eyes, and when his eyes settled back to their original place he found the man standing in front of him. Remus took a step back in surprise, the s word slipping out. Remus looked the male up and down, assessing him. Unconsciously Remus straightened his back, to try and look taller. Remus turned his body away, hugging it protectively.
"What do you want?"
There was an edge to Remus's voice as he spoke, he was probably still salty about the man leaving him hanging upside down. Remus turned his head away from the male, though his ear was turned to him. The man grabbed Remus's shoulders and turned him so he was facing him, and pulled him close.
"What did you see."
Remus was a bit taken aback but quickly covered it up. Remus pushed the male away and brushed off imaginary dust.
"Oi, hands off the merchandise unless~"
Remsu winked at the male and wiggled his eyebrows along with his shoulders. This time it was Janus's turn to scoff. He was used to Remus's antics by now, but seriously, in front of the enemy? Come on Remus.
Under different circumstances the male would have probably blushed at the suggestive commentary. But right now his mind was focused on other things. Like what this outsider had seen.
A deep growl emanated from the man's throat. Logan began scribbling madly into his notebook once again. Janus grew uneasy, and stepped a little forward in Remus's direction. Remus shifted his weight and clicked his tongue. He crossed his arms and began explaining what he saw the best he could.
"It was a sphere of solid lava."
Logan's pencil stopped moving as he looked up. His face monotone as usually, a little confusion hidden in the eyes.
"Lava is not a solid."
The male huffed out a chuckle. The man was now back to normal, or what they thought was norman(A/N- Emma? Sorry this mistake was to beautiful to fix). His wings were tucked in tightly and his posture was slumped. His eyes softened, though they still held that hardiness, and his frowning expression turned into a resting face.
"You humans are so closed-minded,"
The man huffed out another chuckle. His statement had piqued Logan's curiosity. Was solid lava really possible? While Logan's interest peaked Janus was only offended. This man had just dissed his whole species! And by the look of it they were the only humans he had interacted with in a while.
"And what is that supposed to mean?!"
"It means you are closed-minded? Was I not clear?"
Remus chucked, but tried to suppress it. He was still mad at the male and didn't want to make him think that he was forgiving him. Logan let out a hum as he nodded his head. The male was not wrong, but at the same time it was wrong. Logan made a note to look into that later. Janus was, of course, offended. Though it was hard for him to stay offended. The man seemed to generally think that was a proper answer, that it wasn't rude. Janus felt pity, but put on a facade, the man was the enemy after all.

Heyo! What did you guys think? I plan on posting at least two chapters a day. I'll post one in the morning, then go to school. When I get home I'll finish up the next chapter, then publish it. Then repeat. When ever it's the weekend there will probably be no updates. I'll use the weekends to prep for the week and post the completed updates on the schedule I described above. This is what I plan to do, but we'll have to see what happens! I hope you have a wonderful day, afternoon, or night! Until next time you beautiful beans!
Bye!
