Solid water?

Hello! I don't have anything to say, so, just like last time, I hope you enjoy and I'll see you at the end!

"Oi! That's not what I meant and you know it!"

The male looked confused but turned to Remus. This man really had no idea how to talk to people. He also had no manners at all! He hadn't even told them his name! Well I suppose they hadn't either, well he knew Remus's.

"How did you see the Prygelos?"

Remus blinked in confusion. What was this man talking about?

"Prygelos?"

The man blinked. Did they not know about the Prygelos? But only the worthy are supposed to see it. How could he be worthy if he didn't even know what it is. Well, Remus was chosen and the male couldn't do anything about it. The best course of action was to nurture him. Prepare him to host the power of the Prygelos.

The man looked over to where Janus stood. These humans were not chosen, so no need to tell them of the Prygelos. Only Remus needed to know. The man decided he would wait until he could get Remus alone.

"The solid lava you had seen, how did you see it?"

Remus ohhed, while Logan scribbled things into his notebook, and Janus mentally stored the name in his mind.

"Whenever I was on top of the wall I saw something shiny. I tried to get a better look and ended up falling, but when I was falling I saw it in all its glory."

Remus boosted. This Prygelos sounded important, and he, an outsider, had seen it. He was taking great pride in this fact. Janus rolled his eyes. He seriously fell off a wall because he saw something shiny? That's Remus for you. The male nodded his head.

"Well, you all should probably head back to your camp."

Logan looked up. The sun was setting. That's a problem. They hadn't set up camp yet, and they couldn't in the dark, it would be too dangerous. Logan rubbed his face, making a plan in his head.

"Why should we?"

Remus was still salty and didn't want to do anything the man said. Remsu crossed his arms and pursed his lips. The man tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. He pointed up at the sky.

"Because it's almost night?"

Remus looked up. Ohh. Remus looked back down and nodded his head. He looked over to Janus.

"We should probably get going"

Janus nodded his head in agreement.

"Well you should hurry, it looks like it's going to rain"

The group looked up to find that the gray clouds had expanded and looked darker. Logan let out an exasperated sigh. It was going to rain and they had no shelter. They could camp out in one of the caves in the revene, but he was sure something else lived in there. Plus that liquid that coated the floors and walls hadn't been looked into yet.

Remus seemed to be thinking the same thing as Logan.

"You happen to have a place we can stay tonight?'

The man raised an eyebrow.

"Don't you have your own shelter?"

Remus looked away, playing in the dirt with his foot. Janus also looked away, the cloudy sky more interesting. Janus didn't want to admit to his group's lake of thought about a place to sleep. Especially to the enemy. The man looked to Logan who simply shook his head. The man nodded his head to no one in particular.

"Well I suppose you could sleep in the temple."

Janus's mouth dropped. Was he seriously going to make them sleep in the open air?! Well he was the enemy, what did he expect? What made it even worse was the way he said it. He supposed they could sleep in the temple. He was acting as if it was the most gracious offer. Though to the male it was. The temple was sacred and not meant for sleeping in, but he was making an exception.

"You want us to sleep in the open air? Oh, how gracious of you"

Sarcasm dripped off of each word, but the man didn't seem to notice it. The male blushed at what he thought was a compliment. Remus seemed to be the only one who noticed this. The man quickly wiped the blush away and began walking in the direction of the temple, expecting the others to follow him.

"Is he serious?"

Remus chucked at Janus's expression.

"I believe he is." Logan replied in his monotone voice.

Remus smiled his mischievous smile, and began walking back to the temple. Janus ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. Logan imagined a forked tongue slithering out of Janus's mouth, just as a snakes would do, then hiding back into the dark cavern of Janus's mouth. Logan pushed the image away and began walking in the same direction of Remus.

Janus was know by himself. This was ridiculous. Whatever dark cave that man crawled out of should come and claim his man, Janus thought bitterly. He really didn't like the ill mannered man who didn't seem to understand the basics of human communication. Janus realized he was alone and quickly jogged after his group.

Janus hissed out curses as the first rain drops hit. He and Logan clutched the fire wood close to there bodies as they waddled back to the temple. Janus honestly thought it was useless to cover the wood, it was going to wet anyway, but Logan insisted upon it.

Janus had asked the male what was going to be done about the open roof, but the man just told them not to worry about. Both Logan and Remus seemed to trust the winged man, but Janus didn't. How was this man going to keep them from getting wet under an open roofed temple? What, was he going to spread his wings and cover them the whole night? Yeah right.

Janus nearly dropped the wood he was holding when he saw the bone dry temple. Walls of water had surrounded the temple. The first thought that crossed Janus's mind was, Solid water? It was like there was an invisible roof. The water created a roof and walls out of itself, keeping the temple dry. This was why the temple was dry even after yesterdays shower. But how?

Logan nudged Janus, effectively bringing him out of his trance. Janus shook his head, as if tying to shake the thoughts from his mind. Logan and Janus stepped closer to the water walls of the temple.

Janus opened his mouth, going to ask Logan how to get in, when the black cut through the water. Janus look closer to find that the man had extended onc of his huge black wings, blocking the water not cutting it, that was impossible. Or was it? Janus imagined the solid looking water was kind of like the solid looking lava Remus had seen. Maybe humans were closed minded.

"Come on."

Janus hurriedly scurred into the dry temple. He set the wood down next to the fire to dry, it had gotten a little wet in the pouring rain. Janus ran his fingers through his wet hair, then ruffled it. Water sprayed every which way as Janus shook his hands through his hair. Remus backed away in an attempt to get away from Janus's spraying hair. When Janus stopped Remus spoke,

"Jezz, you're like a dog."

Janus punched Remus's arm while telling him to shut it. Remus backed away laughing. Janus looked over to the fire where the winged male sat. He had his wings extended, trying to dry them no doubt. It was like looking at a cold traveler huddled next to a warm fire, there hands dangerously close to the fire but in this case the hands were wings and the traveler was a mystical guardian.

Janus walked over to the male and sat down on the white floor of the temple. He didn't look at the man, but instead extended his hands to the fire. He rubbed his hands together as if he was the cold traveler. He brought his hands back to him, and looked at the winged man who sat across from him.

"What's your name? Mine's Janus."

When the males violet eyes looked up at Janus he, Janus, looked away. He hugged his arms close to his body then looked back at the violet eyed male. The male was staring at Janus blankly. Janus scrunched his eyebrows.

"What?"

Janus looked behind him, half expecting to see someone there, but there was no one. When he looked back the male was rubbing his neck shyly, a light blush dusting his skin.

"Virgil, my name's Virgil."

The man dropped his hand as his wings fluttered and the blush disappeared. The little flutter of his wings had made the flames reele back, but they pushed forward to their original place after a second. Janus thought the flames looked like an army of Terrasen soldiers. They pushed forward and destroyed their enemies, but the moment any real threat presented itself they shied away. When the danger left they came back, wreaking havoc just as they had before.

It made Janus sick to think about. He looked away from the fire to the solid water walls. He pointed his finger to the water.

"How are you going that?"

Janus dropped his hand as he looked over to the male quizzically. The man looked just as confused as Janus.

"Do you humans not have this?"

What do you guys think about the solid lava and water thing? I was kind of inspired by what I took away from looking a little bit into alchemy. My take away was that alchemy was like converting one object to a completely different object and basically expanding the limitations of science. I'm not sure if that's right, but that was my take away. Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day, afternoon, or night, and until next time you beautiful beans!

Bye!
