Memories

Hello! This chapter is technically late, but It's still here! Anyway I hope you enjoy and I'll see you at the end!

"Is it just me or is there something about Virgil that doesn't seem right?" Roman questioned as he glared at Virgil from afar.

Patton chuckled. He thought it was adorable seeing Roman seething at Virgil. There was just something about the way he did it that made him look like a child, and Patton couldn't help but find it cute.

"Virgil seems just fine to me" Patton answers with amusement.

Romans ears turned red as he boiled in anger. Suddenly Patton didn't find Romans childish acting amusing.

"Even you, it's as if he finds pleasure in taking things from me..."

Roman turned away from Patton and folded his arms over his chest. Patton watched as Roman glowered at Virgil with a look of pure hatred. Patton pieced together that this was probably about Logan. Roman and Logan had been friends since childhood and had been close over the years. Then suddenly Virgil comes along and Logan no longer spends time with Roman.

Patton let out a sigh, what a predicament. There was no way he could take away Virgil and Logan's friendship but he also couldn't let it break Roman like this. So Patton decided he would be the bestest friend he could be. He would hang out with Roman and no one else, it wasn't as if anyone was waiting to hangout with him so it should be fine to spend his days with Roman.

Patton stood and pulled Roman up. Roman seemed shocked but didn't have time to say anything for Patton was already pulling him through the castle. Soon they were out of the castle and wandering through the streets. Roman followed Patton without a word and Patton led without a word.

Soon the once bustling streets reduced to only a few people wandering around. Roman had never been to the lower towns before and he was truly surprised by the uncleanliness of it. Was his father not checking on the lower towns? No, his father was a fair man, there was no way he would leave these people in poverty. Maybe he didn't know, maybe this information was being withheld from him.

Roman didn't have time to think any more on the matter as a group of young children came running there way. Roman watched as the kids pulled Patton into a hug that sent him to the ground. He watched as they all laid there, in a big heap, laughing like this was the funniest thing. Roman chuckled at the big heap of children. They all looked so happy. Roman wished he could hold on to that happiness forever.

There weren't many beautiful places in the barren land that was Terrasen, but Patton always seemed to find the beauty in everything. Roman blindly followed Patton through the rocky terrain never once doubting his friend's navigational skills. They hadn't been gone long but due to the late hour in which they left the sun was already setting. In Roman opinion the sun set was the only beautiful thing about Terrasen, landscape wise anyways.

As they walked further away from the Kingdom Roman couldn't help but notice the extra peep in Patton's step. Seeing Patton so happy about this made him happy, even though he never liked walking through the barren landscape. Roman was so intiched by Patton that he didn't notice the upcoming cliff. Since he was watching Patton he stopped when Patton stopped so they were able to avoid any sudden deaths.

Roman saw Patton's smile grow bigger as his eyes gleamed. In the light hues of orange of the setting sun Patton looked like a creature of heaven, though to Roman Patton always looked like a heavenly being. Roman admired Patton for far longer than most would have and only turned away to see what Patton had been staring at for as long as he had been staring at him.

Roman turned to find the silhouette of far out mountains lit by the setting sun. Roman often forgot that Terrasen atop a hill but remembered as he looked at the beautiful landscape. From here he was able to see the faint shine of the ocean, by which they traded, surrounded by mountains scattered in patches of green trees. Despite the beautiful view Roman couldn't help but look back to Patton, who seemed even more beautiful than the view before him.

Patton never looked away from the mountain view but if he had he would have seen the way Roman was looking at him. In that moment there would have been a spark between the two that would carry out for the rest of there lives. But Patton never looked to Roman he never saw the loving look Roman had been giving him and so they would walk home Romans love still a secret.

Memories had been plaguing Roman's mind and he didn't know if they were making him feel better or worse. These memories were all about Patton and the wonderful things he did. In a way Roman was capturing these moments so he would never forget them but in another way Roman was hurting himself. Roman knew there was a chance Patton wouldn't be alive by the time he got back and by thinking about all these happy memories he was making things worse for himself.

Roman wished someone would pull him from these thoughts but no one said a word to him. No one even seemed to notice the pained look on his face. That was something Patton would notice. It was something Patton would take care of with a simple smile that would warm Roman to his core. But there was no smile from Patton and there may never be, because Patton was on the brink of death.

Patton was fighting to keep himself warm in an unconscious state and Roman was out trying to free him of this pain. It pained Roman to leave Patton but he knew he needed to go and save him. He, Virgil, and Logan were going to find this sorcerer and demand the cure. Roman didn't care how they got the information just as long as they got it.

Roman smiled faintly as hope blossomed through him. He was going to save Patton. When he got home he would be greeted by a healthy Patton, matter of fact Patton would look healthier than he ever had. His skin would practically glow in the sun, his smile would be blinding, and his eyes would be welcoming. He would once again give off warmth of his own, he would once again be able to warm Roman no matter the weather.

All Roman had to do was save him and that fantasy could be a reality. He could really have his Patton back, he really could. Roman couldn't help but repeat this scienaroy over and over again in his brain. Each time he replayed it more hope wound up in Roman, and soon enough he no longer needed to replay the scienaroy. Roman was going to do this, he was going to catch a sorcerer.

1180 words not including these

I wrote this chapter just so I could explore Roman and Pattons relationship a bit more and not have to go back and rewrite. Also I'm really excited for the updates to come because I have big things planned. I can't tell you what they are because that would ruin it but I will say I don;t think you will expect it. Oh I'm so excited! Oh! And before I forget I started a oneshot book just so I can write down any ideas that I have just so my brain is clear for this story. I only have one written story right know so oneshot ideas are welcome!

Anyway I hope you have a wonderful day, night, or afternoon! Until next time you beautiful beans!

Bye!
