Part 1: Arrest
Celesta
I was going over to visit my son and his eleven children. It has been so long since she seen them especially since she had to look after the residents of a long forgotten island.
"I know that they'll be so surprised to see me." I said as I slowly arrived at my destination. I was about to knock when I heard someone sneezing which made my curiosity heighten. Slowly, I walked to the yard gate and saw something that made my blood boil.
A child. A child was out in this type of weather and wasn't protected. I couldn't leave him here so I quickly called the police and lifted him up. The poor child was so cold and could have easily died if I didn't come by when I did. When suddenly, my idiot son and family came back.
"Celeste? What are you doing here and why are you holding my son?" Rita asked. I glared at her which made her freeze.
"At first, I came here to visit all of you and see how things were doing. But after seeing the state of my grandson...it seems like I went wrong in my teachings in being a good parent." I said bitterly.
"Mom, I am a good parent..." Lynn said.
"No. If you were than your son wouldn't be out in the cold without any sign of protection. What if he died because of what you did? What would happen then?" I asked which made my idiot son and daughter in law freeze.
"But he was bad luck...." A voice said. I quickly looked my son's so called name sake and wondered why they never stopped this type of thinking.
"Luck doesn't exist and even if it did...why would it take 11 years to activate?" I said. She froze and was about to challenge it, but I quickly put a stop to it.
"Young lady, what you and the rest of your family did was ultimately despicable. Besides you seem like someone who plays sports so tell me...What does luck have to do with being an athlete?" I asked.
"Uh..." She said before the ambulance and the police arrived at the household. They quickly took Lincoln out of my hands and placed him in a gurney and loaded him up.
"Ma'am, are you the one who found the boy?" One of the police officers said.
"Yes. My grandson was out in the cold without any protection against the elements." I said.
"Do you know who did this?" The same officer asked after saying nothing for a couple of seconds.
"Yes. My idiot son and daughter in law." I said.
"Hold on Mom, you don't need to..." Lynn said before I smacked him across the head.
"Be quiet Lynn. You need to learn that actions have consequences besides I plan on taking your son and daughter with me." I said shocking them.
"But you can't." The eldest said before I slapped her.
"Can't? You basically threw your brother out to the wolves without a second thought and think that I will leave him and your baby sister with you? Don't make me laugh. It's clear that your parents have failed in every single way possible so it's up to me to make sure that at least two of my grandchildren can have better futures." I said as I took my youngest grandchild in my hands. Everyone was stunned at what I just said which gave the officers plenty of time to grab their handcuffs and place them around my son's and daughter in law's wrists.
"Mom, you can't let them do this..." Lynn said before I shook his head at his foolishness.
"Why not? When I thought that I taught you how to become a proper parent and hoped that you would take my teachings to heart. Only to see that not only did you not live up to them...you basically destroyed any trust that my grandson held for you. You're nothing, but a disappointment and I hope that none of your siblings ended up like you." I said before he was dragged away. As this happened, I quickly went into the ambulance with my youngest granddaughter and sat down. I won't let my grandson and granddaughter become like my son and daughter in law....
So I decided to take them towards a forgotten island where they could have better lives and make something of themselves. While knowing that the girls will have a field day with my grandson.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter....Bye 👋
