2 - Papyrus
Chara felt frozen to the spot, like her feet had become one with the snow beneath her. "Uh, you okay there, kiddo? You look a bit... er... uncomfortable," Sans commented. "I'm fine.." Chara said shakily. "I c-can't move my legs, though..." Sans smiled a bit. "S'okay. You might just be cold. Happens to me sometimes. Hey, here he comes!"
So that's Papyrus.
A tall skeleton ran proudly into the clearing. He wore a bright red scarf around his neck, with a cool-looking costume. A white top with golden trim at the sleeves and some black markings on the left of the chest, some blue shorts and a golden belt. The top was short, so his spine was showing... for some reason. Chara had to try not to stare, unsure of what skeletons considered perverted. His gloves and boots were the same colour as his scarf, his gloves having a golden trim around the wrist. His eyes sparkled with confidence and energy, and he had almost a glow, even an aura, to him that made him already seem likeable without having to say a word. He didn't look the happiest at the moment, and Chara stood perfectly still.
I'm so dead.
"Saaaaaaaans!!" Papyrus shouted. Jeez, his voice was loud! It was the complete opposite of softspoken Sans. "Have you found a human yet?!" he continued. Sans winked at Chara. "Nah, bro, not yet. Just this ice statue." Oh my god, Sans... Chara thought, rolling her eyes. Papyrus perked up. "Cool!! Where did it come from?!" "No idea, but by the look on its face, I think it's giving me the cold shoulder," he said with a smirk. Chara rolled her eyes again, and Papyrus facepalmed. "Oh my god, I walked right into that!!" he cried. Chara stifled a laugh — Papyrus didn't seem too smart if he hadn't realized yet that she was a human. "Hey bro, I learned magic. Watch this." Sans lightly pushed the human girl next to him, and she toppled over and into the snow. "Sans, what the fuck!!" she exclaimed. Sans chuckled. "Poof, the ice statue became a human." Papyrus' eyes lit up, which was admittedly pretty adorable. "Wowie!! That's amazing!!" the skeleton said excitedly. Chara smirked. "Sup," she said, chuckling nervously. Papyrus didn't look dangerous, but who knew what he was capable of.
The prettiest snakes are always the venomous ones.
Papyrus put a hand to his chest, his scarf flapping in the breeze. "Human!! I, the Great Papyrus, and my lazybones brother, Sans, have set up puzzles in this forest. You will not pass this area! We will capture you and send you to Undyne! Then I will finally be a member of the Royal Guard like I rightfully deserve! Prepare yourself for capture, human! Nyeh heh heh!" With that, he ran off down the path. Chara got up and brushed the snow off her clothes.
Well that was certainly something...
"That went well," Sans commented. Chara chuckled. "I guess so," she responded. "He seems like a cool guy." The comedian smiled at her. "Boy howdy, is he! He's the coolest monster you'll ever meet. He isn't the brightest sometimes, but you gotta love him." "Yeah..." Chara said to herself, only now remembering her goal. She had to exterminate everyone... she had to kill the lighthearted Papyrus, who seemed so innocent, so childish. He was probably the only truly pure soul left in this hell of a world.
It will all be worth it in the end.
She turned to Sans, who had an amused twinkle in his eye. "Say, it would really make my brother's day if you played along with his japes. Think you could do that for me, pal?" he asked. Chara nodded. "Sure, Sans, I got your backbone," she said with a wink. Sans laughed. "That's the spirit! I'll be up ahead. Meetcha again soon!" With that, he turned around and walked the other way, and when Chara looked over in his direction, his footprints had stopped dead and he had disappeared.
That comedian...
