THREE~Ezekiel
Ezekiel
I pressed the cool glass to my forehead, keeping my eyes shut. Despite the complete lack of light in the room, my head still hurt. It was daytime, I should have been sleeping. My body was so confused these days, though.
I heard the sound of the door to my study being opened and then quickly close again, followed closely by footsteps making their way toward me. I didn't open my eyes. Instead I focused on breathing deeply and refraining from jumping up to rip the head off of whoever it was.
"I said that I wasn't to be disturbed," I said in a calm voice that I knew would scare the intruder.
I was never calm unless I was seething wth anger.
"But Sir, I have an update for you about recent events in the Upstairs."
I slowly peeled one eye open and looked up at the quivering boy standing in front of me.
"Continue," I drawled slowly.
"It appears we were wrong about their team being complete. They have taken on two new members."
I removed the glass from my forehead and opened my other eye. "More old people and children I assume? I can't tell if they're setting up a 'secret' special ops force or an old age home slash day-care center. It's depressing really."
"They aren't old or children. They're a couple of university students."
I raised one eyebrow ever so slightly. "They've recruited a couple of university students? What are they playing at? Is there even anything special about them?"
"That's the thing, Sir. We can't seem to find any real records on them. Nothing to suggest that they are anything except two regular human beings."
"Stellar job, Underling. Your ability to dig up dirt on people astounds me."
"I have a name, Sir-"
"I really don't care," I cut him off. "Do you at least know their names, Toad?"
"Yes, Sir. Caspian Saunders and Aria Semble."
I felt the side of my mouth twitch. "Caspian Saunders?"
The boy nodded.
"I've heard of him. A vigilante Vampyre. An abomination of what it means to be condemned. Most people assumed when he disappeared that he was dead. Well, permanently dead."
"So, Sir... did I do well? Was this information useful?"
I smirked and then took a slow sip of my drink, drawing the moment out and keeping him waiting in anticipation. "Fine. Yes. Congratulations, I won't be killing you today. Now, if you want to live through tomorrow too, find out everything you can about Aria Semble. If you come back and try to tell me that she is just a regular human, I will shove my hand down your throat and rip your heart out through your mouth."
He gulped.
I took another sip of my drink before closing my eyes and placing the cool surface back against my forehead and closing my eyes.
"Go away now," I instructed when he failed to move.
"Right. Sorry, Sir," he squawked, rushing out of the room.
"Good boy," I replied quietly, smirking into the darkness as the door closed behind him.

Okay, so I wrote one more. I couldn't resist. I have a nice gap between classes right now and I am on a roll. So, as you can probably see, this book is going to be a bit darker than the first one. If you thought Jon was bad, I can't wait for you to see what I have in store for you now.
I'm not sure if I should be worried or not about how much I love Ezekiel Greigh and how excited I am to continue to develop his character...
