Chapter 36

Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Oh FUCK!

Hoseok chants the curse word inside his head as he feels himself disappear after jumping and sinking into nothing. Or at least, it feels this way. He can't believe he actually got it together and jumped into that hole of lava.

However, it's like they expected. He isn't feeling any pain. Maybe he's dead?

He doesn't get to think this for very long though when his ass collides with the cold ground beneath him and he grunts. Yikes, he didn't expect to land on something like this. Luckily it wasn't too far, so it doesn't seem like he has received any damage.

With a huff and a hand on his back, he stands up. His eyes start looking around the cave he has ended up in, taking in the weird and frightning surroundings he for some reason jumped right into.

There's barely any light, the colors are dark and scary while it's completely quiet. A little too quiet in his opinion. Hoseok feels a shiver run down his spine as he slowly starts walking down the tunnel, the sound of his steps almost making him jump with fear of his own shadow.

It does make him wonder when they decided it was a good idea to send him first. He's literally scared of anything and at the moment he's close to peeing in his pants.

But this makes him remember why he's down here in the first place. He got to find Jungkook and get him out of here.

Hoseok looks at his watch and sees that it won't be long before Yoongi is getting down here as well, so he has to hurry up. He needs to get out of here first after all.

With a painfully high puls and anxiety running through his every bone, Hoseok starts running. The corridor only has one way to go, so he doesn't even bother wondering if he's going the right way.

He feels his legs already throb, probably due to the fear he's experiencing. Luckily, it seems to be as they expect - nothing has attacked him yet, which means he probably hasn't been noticed.

Hoseok is just a weak human after all, but that doesn't stop him from being a hella good runner and rushing down the corridor faster than expected.

His eyes are momentarily looking around since the area is surprisingly familiar to him. It looks like some of the places he has seen in his dream.

At this point, he's convinced he's mentally unstable from everything that has been going on.

The male shakes his head. He doesn't have time to think about this shit right now.

The heat he's feeling around him is making sweat run down the side of his face, so he quickly dries it away to his best ability. His eyes are skimming around the area, trying to take in everything that dares to move.

Smaller tunnels are starting to appear on each side of him, but he decides to just stick to the main one. He has an idea Diabolos would want the road to him to be big and centered because how else should a demon king be treated? Exactly, he's too selfish to think smart about this.

Hoseok seems to have everything going for him as he rushes down the hall, right until something stands before him. This something hasn't seen him yet and Hoseok physically feels how his heart just skips a beat in fright.

He has no goddamn clue what that thing is, but it's small, red and disgusting. It has big ears and teeth and it's hands are being held in a weird position before it's chest.

Hoseok stops.

He puts a hand over his mouth and holds his breath. The small demon is occupied with some sort of animal that's crawling on the wall, probably trying to eat the thing.

Hoseok closes his eyes as he shakes and tries to take a breath. What the actually fuck did he sign up for?

He seems to have a mental battle with himself for a good few minutes before he gets it together and opens his eyes. He starts sneaking his way past the thing, keeping his steps as quiet as possible.

Just as he believes he has made it all the way past, the demon's ears perks up and Hoseok stops dead in his tracks.

Fuck. He should have kept running as Yoongi told him too.

For a good few seconds there, he convinced himself this was going to be the time he died. That's until the demon looks down the way Hoseok just came from and immediately sets off in said direction.

Shit! It must mean Yoongi is down.

That gets the male going. Hoseok starts sprinting further down the hall, seeing how small demons are now emerging from the walls. Their goal isn't Hoseok though and most of them doesn't even notice him, they are clearly feeling an angels presence down here.

They really have risked everything by doing this, so it just has to work out. Hoseok can't chicken out now!

He runs and runs for what feels like hours inside his head, but it's probably not more than a few minutes.

The heat is getting stronger. So much that it's almost getting hard for him to breathe, but it makes him speed up even more. The more heat, the closer he is to his desired destination.

As his legs are starting to feel numb and his head dizzy, he reaches an opening by the end of the seemingly endless hall he just traveled through.

What was bound to meet his eyes on the other side will probably be the most traumatizing thing from this entire mission he will suffer from for the rest of his life.

There Taehyung is, blood gushing from his body and face as he springs forward, attacking a beast Hoseok believes to be Diabolos.

One ugly motherfucker.

Behind them, Jungkook is bound to a chair-looking thing, his hands almost red from the tight rope, his cheeks stinged with tears and his body beat up in all kinds of random places. A cloth is covering his mouth, but it's still clear to see he's trying to scream his lungs out.

Hoseok almost gasps as he steps on a huge, black wing on the ground, surrounded by deep-red blood. This is when he realizes Taehyung's wings are no more and that's why the angel is bleeding.

What the fuck happened.

_______

Flashback to before Hoseok fell down

Jungkook can't even begin to subscribe what the fuck is going on before his eyes, all he can do is stare and try to break free of the restraints on his hands.

He currently has his mouth covered by a black piece of cloth, simply due to the reason even Diabolos got annoyed with his constant talking, dissing everything in the room and telling Diabolos what a fucking creep he is.

Looking back at that, Jungkook now realizes that was pretty stupid, considering he really wants to scream right now.

Taehyung is currently fighting Diabolos. Jungkook can't remember exactly when Taehyung arrived, suddenly he was just there and jumped the other without fucking mercy.

Diabolos seems quite amused with the angel going at him, knowing he's surprior in every way. He's a demon king after all.

That's why Jungkook wants to scream. Just as much as he wants Taehyung to save him, he doesn't want the angel to die.

Taehyung would probably joke about it and say he's already dead, but this time he won't come back. He won't be Jungkook's guardian angel any longer if this continues, he will be gone for good.

That's also why the tears are streaming down the younger's face as he's trying to free himself. Taehyung can't die, not like this.

Finally, Jungkook felt like he had a reason to make it out of here alive. Fucking inconvient that this reason is now in here with him.

Taehyung is getting beat up... badly. He has succeeded in getting a few good hits in and surprised Diabolos, but it's not enough. Jungkook knows that and he's pretty sure Taehyung knows that too. When the wings were ripped off his back, Jungkook swears he has never heard something so heart breaking.

Still, the idiot jumped right into it as if he has nothing to lose.

At first, Jungkook wasn't sure what the meaning behind it truly was, because it will end up with both of them never escaping.

That's right until Jungkook sees a certain, frightened Hoseok in one of the openings.

Fucking shit. Those idiots.
