Chapter 13
To make it short, Taehyung beat the shit out of all of those guys. Variegated? White-winged? Not a single one of them could even come near his level, even after he fought fight after fight in a row. Superior? Definitely.
Jungkook shakes as he sits in his normal spot on the dirty wooden floor. His hands are in front of him, holding around the two piles of money they just made from the wing fights. Due to Taehyung's hard work, they have succeeded in making double of what Jungkook usually make in a year! He can't even talk, that's how freaking insane this is.
"I-I-"
Taehyung giggles and sits down next to the flabbergasted boy, wrapping his arm around his slim waist. Jungkook is too out of it to notice and he just stares at the money like it's freaking gold resting between his fingers.
"Are you happy with the outcome of this?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook licks his lips and his eyes get hooded for a second, almost as if he's about to cry. He places the money hesitantly on the table, his hands still shaking unhealthily much.
"I-" he begins, "I have been working...since I was 10 years old to just get food on the table at least twice a week and now-" his fingers gently touches a 50000 won note, "I have this."
Taehyung looks down for a second as a smile gently forms on his lips. This is exactly what he wanted, to see Jungkook just a little bit happy. Relaxed. He's always so tense and negative, which he probably still is, but now he can't complain about working anymore at least.
"I'm glad," the angel states and Jungkook looks up at him. For the first time in forever, Taehyung's actually sees a grateful look in the younger's eyes, sending his heart into a race against time. No matter how hard he tries to suppress it and force it away, Taehyung loves Jungkook. He always has.
"Thank you," Jungkook says. He might be a shitty human in almost all aspects, but at least he's decent enough to show some gratitude when Taehyung has done so much for him already. Taehyung has barely been here for 3 weeks and he has already changed every norm and very core of Jungkook's life. Just like that.
He really is an angel.
Taehyung just hums and keeps looking into Jungkook brown eyes, seeing them have a small glint of something that makes the elder's stomach take a turn. Without further notice, Taehyung's free hand gently lifts itself and gets placed on Jungkook's soft cheek. For a moment there, everything seems like paradise as Taehyung leans in.
This is something he has waited to do for so long and Jungkook would never truly understand how long. The beating of the elder's heart must be so loud by now that even the neighbors can hear it. The feeling of Jungkook's skin against his finger reassures him that everything will be okay.
Well, maybe everything expect for the back of his head that just got fucking demolished by a old, recycled vase that used to be the only decoration in Jungkook's small apartment. Not anymore though as it's completely shattered.
Taehyung is lucky he's an angel at this point or he might actually would have passed out from the impact of the vase hitting him.
"The fuck do you think you're doing?"
Jungkook's words seem to hit the final straw as Taehyung's hands rush to his head and he cries out in pain. Maybe, just maybe he's exaggerating his pain a little, but his heart is hurting even more so he uses this as an excuse to cry out in pure agony.
"What are you doing!?" he yells in return.
"Deserves you right-" Jungkook glares when Taehyung starts fake crying, "stop being such a human! You probably couldn't even feel it."
"That one hurt my heart more than my head," Taehyung mumbles and Jungkook rolls his eyes. He stands up and brings the money with him. He's glad this apartment comes with a safe where he can put his money because there's at least three burglaries in this building every week and if they find out how much money Jungkook has now, he won't have one minute of peace for the rest of his life.
Taehyung sits up with a pout while rubbing his head. Fuck, what did he expect? As if Jungkook would ever let him kiss him... that's dream thinking. But that doesn't mean Taehyung can't dream about it all the time. Those soft, pink lips on his would be worth more than all the money in the world for him.
He looks at Jungkook who locks up his safe and puts the key away. What are they going to do for the rest of the day after such a sorry attempt of love? They still don't have any clues as to why the devil has his eyes on Jungkook, so they might as well do something fun instead. Maybe Taehyung is being a little too chill about this... but you often meet your destiny on your road take to avoid it, so it's better to just go on as normal and wait for something to happen.
"Hey, what about a celebration party tonight? For winning the fights?" Taehyung then asks, "we could invite the boys?"
"What makes you think I want to do that?" Jungkook deadpans. Taehyung stands up and rushes over to him with a smile.
"Come on, I did this for you right? I feel like I can be allowed some fun too?" he then says. Jungkook sighs and looks down. Dammit, the idiot got a point. If he wants Taehyung to help him again, he can't go around being an asshole as he used to. He guesses he can let this one slip through.
"Fine, but not here..."
"Yes!" Taehyung jumps up, he loves parties, "I will talk with the others. Maybe we can stay at Jin's house again, it's so big after all."

"A party?" Jin asks in disbelief, looking at his angel as if he just sprawled another head or something. He didn't expect that getting dragged into this black-winged angel circus could cause so much trouble and take up so much of his time.
Not like he has much to spend it on anyways.
Jin is simply a teacher at a school, he doesn't hate his job but it still kind of sucks. And now, he has to deal with all of this too? Blessed? He thinks the fuck not.
"Yes, Taehyung wants one. I don't know why though," Namjoon states. He wants the party too. It has been a while since he has seen Taehyung in such a good mood, he can't let that go to waste.
"Why here?"
"Because you have a lot of space," Namjoon states, "they only live in small apartments."
Jin tsks and shakes his head, "not in this lifetime." He walks over to the kitchen and starts taking out some food for him to eat. Namjoon bites his lip and follows. After arriving on earth, Taehyung's mood has been different and it's definitely because of Jungkook. However, Namjoon also knows how fast it can change so he doesn't want to miss this chance to fulfill one of Taehyung's wishes.
"Please Jin. That way we can also work together in the upcoming days," Namjoon tries again.
"No."
"It won't be for long-"
"I don't care, I'm not having a whole kindergarten running around here, destroying my house," the elder hisses and grabs the plate with food. He takes it to the dinner table and gets annoyed when Namjoon follows right on his heels.
"Just this one time!" Namjoon pleads. He doesn't know why he's going this far for just a stupid party. He barely even knows Jin from the past weeks they have been together. The man has ignored Namjoon in all possible ways... they have barely even talked.
It pains Namjoon's heart, considering how long he waited to meet Jin. For him, this teacher is very special, he just doesn't know that yet.
"I said no! I don't want them here-" Jin begins but Namjoon cuts him off rudely.
"Come on! I won't hurt! It's not like you aren't wealthy enough to fix it if we were to destroy something-"
That's it. Jin slams the plate onto the table and reaches out towards the other. He grabs a hold of the angel's collar and drags him down so their eyes are in the same height. His eyes are flaring with anger that appeared out of nowhere and Namjoon feels himself scared for a second there.
"You don't know shit!" Jin says sternly, their faces dangerously close so that their noses are almost touching.
"Wha-"
"I'm the poorest of us all," Jin's voice immediately changes to a soft one and his eyes squeeze slightly together as he tries to form the words in his head. He doesn't know if it's from anger or from sadness that the tears start to sting in eyes.
"All I have..." he whispers, "is money..."
Namjoon blinks as his collar is released and the elder man grabs his food, bringing it to one of the other rooms. Namjoon is left alone to think over what he just did. Fuck! He's so stupid. Why would he go this far? Jin clearly said he didn't want that stupid party here.
Namjoon holds a hand over the place Jin had grabbed him and looks down. The words the elder said seems to have teared a part of his heart he had forgot about, making him want to scream out in frustration. He can't even control his own emotions about something that's not his fucking business.
The angel sighs and looks at the closed door where Jin disappeared behind. It would probably be stupid to go bother Jin right now with his apologies, so he decides to just sit down on the couch and stare at nothing. Jin definitely has some backstory that Namjoon doesn't know of.
Angels can feel their humans from the second they are born, but they can't see them and they can never truly know what went down when they felt the pain from their humans in their chest. Namjoon remembers that one time where Jin suddenly stopped having happy feelings. They just... vanished.
Who would have thought it could be so hard to try to fit into the human world again? It sure has changed for the worse and Namjoon feels his heart tug painfully at that. Imagine that he wasted his life where the world was at least decent.
This... this is just another place for hell.
