Stay with me forever
-A few hours later-
"Mmph... what happened? Why am I on the floor?" Cyclonus groaned, rubbing his head.
Tailgate was laying on his stomach next to Cyclonus, swinging his legs back and forth. "You passed out when I kissed you, so I decided to keep you company on the floor until you woke up!"
"Oh..." Cyclonus mumbled, slowly sitting up and stretching his arms. "How long was I out for?"
"Oh... a few hours or so.."
"WHAT?!"
"Well, I didn't want to wake you up! You looked so peaceful!" Tailgate giggled, rolling over onto his back and sitting upright.
Cyclonus sighed, rubbing his optics and looking at Tailgate with a slight smile. He couldn't stay mad at him for long when he was so cute. "Thanks... usually Whirl would just wake me up to piss me off."
"Speaking of Whirl, I heard him snickering outside so I chased him away."
"What was he doing? He didn't do anything to me, did he?!" Cyclonus exclaimed, checking over himself for anything strange.
"Nah, I gave him a good smack and he apologized. Why does he hate you so much?" Tailgate asked, scooting over to Cyclonus and leaning against his shoulder.
"Ehh, I don't even know. We just butt heads a lot and he's REALLY annoying sometimes..." Cyclonus huffed, hunching over and propping his head up. "Why did you stay with me while I was passed out? You know you could've just left."
"Why would I leave? I hardly talk to anyone else and well...." Tailgate paused, feeling himself blush. "I... uh... enjoy your company..."
Cyclonus raised an eyebrow and a guttural chuckle escaped his throat. "Now that's something I haven't heard in eons. Usually people hate being around me because they think I'm a depressed and angry old bot..." he sighed, his long fingers tapping on the cool metal floor.
"Well... you do kinda look like one.. hehe." Tailgate giggled, poking Cyclonus's cheek. His attention was drawn to the jagged edges of what used to be Cyclonus's left horn. He stood up, slowly placing his hand on it and feeling every sharp edge and crevice. "Why didn't you get this replaced?"
Cyclonus grumbled something and huffed, allowing Tailgate to touch his broken horn. He rarely ever allowed anyone to come near it, let alone touch it. It pained him to think about the past, but he knew Tailgate would bother him until he did tell him. "I don't know, honestly... you know how certain things or events can be memorable? Like, they shape who you are today and what you do. I guess I just didn't want to forget why I lost that horn in the first place..."
Tailgate didn't know the full story of how Cyclonus lost his horn, only bits and pieces. The fact that Cyclonus was opening up to him was pretty exciting indeed. "How did you lose it? You've only ever told me part of the story.."
Cyclonus shifted his weight, leaning back against his berth and looking up at the ceiling. "You remember Iacon, don't you?"
Tailgate sighed as memories of the golden city filled his mind. "Yeah... it sure was beautiful... why?"
"Well, I was a young upstart, arrogant and full of myself. I liked to pick fights with bots I knew I could beat. Heh, even if they were twice my size I knew exactly how to beat them."
"Wow, you remind me of Rodimus." Tailgate chuckled, scooting closer and leaning against Cyclonus's frame.
"Rodimus? Hah! He's nothing like me.." Cyclonus laughed a little, easing up a bit. "Anyways, it took some time before I finally bit off more than I could chew. I was in Kaon when I made the stupid decision to challenge Megatron himself to a fight."
"You challenged Megatron?! I didn't know that!" Tailgate exclaimed, remembering how fearsome Megatron was in the old days. Even though he was now a part of the Lost Light crew, everyone was still wary around him.
"Well you do now. Of course, I got my aft handed to me in the most embarrassing way possible... He held me up in front of my friends, getting them to jeer and taunt me like I was some peasant. Then, he tore my horn off as a symbol of my defeat and threw me into the streets. I became a different bot after that, I wasn't the same... I stayed in the shadows, silent and deadly."
"What made you choose to join the Lost Light?"
Cyclonus sighed, wrapping his arm around Tailgate. "I needed a break. Cybertron isn't what it used to be, it's worse. I never figured that I would hate my own home planet so much..."
Tailgate felt bad for Cyclonus. He had gone through so much in his lifetime, it wasn't even funny. He hugged Cyclonus around his midsection and closed his optics. "I know how you feel. Just remember that you always have me if you need someone to talk to."
A smile made its way across Cyclonus's face and he bent down, lightly kissing Tailgate on the helm. "Thanks, Tailgate. I knew I made a good decision the moment I met you. You've changed my life so much..."
"And you have changed mine... I'm not alone anymore! Neither of us are! It's just the two of us against the world! Just the two of us..." Tailgate smiled under his faceplate and hugged Cyclonus tighter. "I love you, Cyclonus."
"I love you too..."
The End!
I hope you enjoyed it!
