Chapter Eight
He kisses me for seconds longer before he suddenly pulls away.
"What's wrong?" I cock my head, worried.
"I shan't kiss you, Olivia. I am angry with you." He lets go of my body and I stare at him in disbelief.
"For what?" I cross my arms, slightly embarrassed. Wasn't he the one who kissed me first?
"You left me." He mumbles, turning away. Taking the most cliche way possible, I put my hand on his shoulder and turn him back to face me.
"I'm sorry." Is all I can say, because I truly am. He searches my eyes for a long time. He's looking for dishonesty. He, of all people, would know exactly what to look for.
"Loki?" I whisper.
"Yes, darling?" There's a ghost of a smile on his face, and it makes my heart flutter.
"K-kiss me again." I stutter.
And so, he does.
-
I wake up the next morning with my head aching. I groan. The tremendous amount of light taking over the room at the moment only makes it worse, because usually, I'd be admiring the amazing beauty of morning in Asgard.
I slowly sit up and trudge to the closet Sif told me about yesterday.
My eyes travel over all of the gorgeous dresses hanging inside. How could I possibly pick just one?
That's when I see it.
I let my fingers slide over the smooth, sky blue fabric, a smile playing on my lips despite the throbbing pain in my head.
I quietly put on the garment, then slip out of the closet. Immediately, I catch a view of myself in the mirror.
I stare at myself, into my own brown eyes.
Suddenly, they flash into a bright, vibrant shade of red. I gasp and fall back, breathing hard.
I put my hand on the dresser and carefully pull myself up, terrified of what I'll find when I look again.
But, when I meet my own eyes again, they're brown.
"What was- why were they- what- red?" I mutter, putting my fingers on my temple. My head throbs even more now.
"Fair Olivia, that dress suits you well." Thor greets. I turn and watch him walk closer to me, but I'm too scared to blush and mumble a thank you.
"Olivia? Are you alright?" He asks. Those are the last words I hear before my mind and ears are taken over by a deafening roar. As if in a trance, I face the mirror again.
I'm met with blood red eyes. My own eyes.
And then, all goes black.
-
"No!" I scream, sitting up. But, when I look around, I don't see an invisible force tearing apart everyone I care about.
Instead, I see the room I'm in is golden. There's a weird vision of my body hanging over me, and there's a red cloud in the head part. A woman comes forward and gently pushes my shoulders down.
"Wait! Where are they?" I ask her, referring to my family, and some others.
"Who?" She responds, but I shake my head, and close my eyes.
What the hell is happening to me?
Am I going insane?
"What's wrong with me?" I voice my thoughts. The woman glances in my direction, then pretends she hadn't heard me.
"I said, what's wrong with me." I hiss, and she backs away.
"Let's not get too excited, Ms. Linden." She raises her hands in surrender.
"I wasn't going to hurt you." I admit, shifting in my bed. She nods in understanding and approaches me again.
"Ms. Linden-"
"Olivia." I correct.
"Olivia. We aren't sure exactly who, but someone is trying to take over your mind."
This, this isn't something that happens on earth.
"My mind?" I respond, disbelieving. I furrow my eyebrows. Who the heck would want to take over my mind?
"I'm going to get you food, Ms. Linden." Then she walks out the door.
I lay down on my bed and stare at the ceiling.
I can't get the vision of my eyes turned the color of blood out of my mind. It must be magic.
I know only one person who does magic.
But Loki wouldn't mess with my mind, would he?
There's a shuffling outside my door, and I fall as silent as possible.
"Loki, stop." An older sounding man orders. I hear the last footsteps, Loki's, pause.
"What do you want, father?" He growls. I haven't heard so much hatred in one's voice than in this moment.
"You still haven't fixed your differences with him, have you?" Loki's father questions. There's a pause.
"There are no differences to be fixed." He concludes.
"He wants revenge, Loki. On you. You cost him much of his army, and time." The man warns.
"I am deeply surprised that he hasn't come to his senses yet. He is wasting too much time on me, if he doesn't wish to waste his time." I can hear that someone has placed their hand on the door.
There's a lot of quiet, for several moments.
"He's finally found it, Loki." The man discovers, barely audible.
"What? He's found what?" Loki responds, worry and desperation clear in his voice.
"The one thing you care about most. It's her, isn't it? The girl? He's coming for her. He wants to kill her, in vengeance for all you've cost him. He'll stop at nothing."
"Who's coming for her?" Questions someone else.
"Thanos." Loki whispers.
Thanos? Who's Thanos?
I'm left no time to ponder, as the door bursts open, and Loki appears in the room, alone.
As if sensing his presence, my head begins to throb again. I moan in pain.
"Shhh." Loki walks forward and sits on my bed. I stare into his beautiful eyes, and pray that he doesn't see the evil shade of red in mine.
"Loki?" I reach forward and gingerly take his hand, which he doesn't pull away.
"Yes, darling?" His voice always makes me melt. I love it so much when he calls me darling, even if it's only been a few times.
"Am I going to be okay?" I ask. I looks down to his feet for a second, and then looks to me again.
"Of course." He assures.
But I know, right then and there, that he's doing the one thing he does best.
Lying.

Hi guys! I'm sorry it took so long... I was in a mini depression mode:( but I'm better now!
All happy and things!
I want to try something new.
How about in every authors note, I write a question, and you answer?
Okay.
Qotc (question of the chapter): What was the most special thing about this school year (2014-2015) to you?
Mine was: I learned who I can trust as my true friends, and I fell in love for the first time.
Your turn!
Btw Loki is the cutest thing:)
Enjoy!
