He walks up to him and hands Ethan the water and food. They walk to the tailgate sit on the truck and eat.

"Thanks, you really don't have to spend all day here, I'm sure you have work to do?" Ethan said after he took a long drink of water.

"Not today, besides I wanted to see you work, with the way you just spoke about this, I wanted to see if you had the same look when you were working."

"What look?" Ethan asked puzzle.

"Passion. When you were just talking about that fancy OR you designed, I saw such passion in your eyes, a love for the job and I wanted to see if you had it when you were actually working. It's not often a CEO of a major company gets his hands dirty either so had to see that to." He laughed, and Ethan chuckled.

"I'm not one of those kinds of CEO's. I own a bar back home and have this business. I like to get my hands dirty and actually work. I work hard, my family worked hard to get the business to what it is today. It wasn't just handed to my family; my mother and father worked their fingers to the bone for years before finally having their dream come true and I went to college and got a maters degree in business and learned all I could about the business and opened my own bar. We are not afraid of hard work, we pride ourselves in it. It may not be the same as your work, but you have pride in it, if not you wouldn't have joined the Marine's and went to college to better yourself to become an officer. You worked your ass off to get to where you are so I'm sure you can understand."

"That I do."

"I better get back, got a lot of cutting to do before the sun sets. Thanks again for the food and water." Ethan gets up and walks back over to where he was cutting earlier.

Jack sits and watches for a while longer before he feels someone next to him. He looks and sees Ryan standing there.

"Not a smart idea to be here not when he has a saw in his hand."

"I just came over to see it in person. I helped him with this, so I wanted to see. He doesn't have to know I am even here." After Ryan said that, Ethan looked over and saw him standing there.

He sighs and shakes his head and cuts another piece of wood before picking the boards he cut and carries them over for the guys.

"Wow that was like ten pieces, that'simpressive." Jack said watching Ethan.

"Yea he's pretty strong." Ethan gets a nail gun and puts a board on his shoulder and climbs a ladder and places aboard against the wall and nails it to the wall making it for a stud. He does that with the rest, a few feet apart.

He puts the nail gun down and goes to measure more wood and cut them and carries them and nails them. He does this for a bit until the one wall has enough boards for studs.

He walks over to Ryan and Jack. "Hey Jack, would you mind helping me with something?"

"Sure." He hops off the truck and walks with Ethan to the wall.

"Would you help me roll this out and help me glue it to wall in between the boards?"

"Yea no problem." They roll out the insulation and Ethan measures it to cut it to the length of the wall and gets on a ladder and Jack hands him the top of it and Ethan puts glue on the wall and sticks it to the wall.

He climbs down some and again puts glue on the wall and sticks it to it. After an hour later they get done.

"Thanks, I didn't want to pull anyone away form their tasks."

"Anytime you need help just ask, I'll be happy to help."

"Thanks. I need to cut more boards and get them in, hopefully before the sun sets, it's getting later in the day."

"If you only get them cut at least you won't have to do that tomorrow, that will be done."

"That's true." Ethan puts a board on the horses and measures it and cuts it. He cuts around twenty of them and takes a few of them and starts to put them on the walls.

He gets ten done before the sun sets but he still keeps working even though everyone else has stopped for the day. He finishes up the rest of the studs and sighs looking at his work. He runs his hand through his hair and yawns. He looks at his watch.

"Damn after ten already." He said and walks over to where Jack and Ryan are. "You really don't know when to quit do you?" Ryan asked. Ethan doesn't look at him and just speaks to Jack.

"I'm ready to go back." And starts walking. Jack looks at Ryan and shakes his head.

"Told you to not be here when he gets done, he needs time and you being around him is just going to piss him off and keep ignoring you. If you love him, give him what he needs and that's time and space."

"Kinda hard when we are in the same area, in a small area at that."

"I don't care, just do it Ryan." Jack says and runs to catch up to Ethan.

"You did great work today. You look like hell though." He laughs.

"Yea I guess slacks aren't a good idea to wear huh?"

"Jeans would be better. The shirt, make it a t shirt. Don't want to ruin your nice clothes."

"Good point. I am tired."

"Are you sore at all? You lifted a lot today."

"Nah,I work out a lot, speaking of is there a gym here?"

"Well yea but you don't want to go now do you?"

"Hell no, I want to shower and pass out. I like to workout in the mornings before I go to work."

"Ok I'll show you where it's at before you go back to your room."

"Thanks." Jack takes Ethan into a rather large building, inside there was a gym a pool a sana and lockers and showers.

"I think I just found my favorite place on this base." Ethan said turning around taking in everything.

"It is a good place to spend time blowing off steam."

"Oh yes, a punching bag."

"You box?"

"Nah just play around with it, I played a lot of sports in high school and the punching bag became my bitch, that's how I was able to knock Jacob's big ass on his ass, I know how to fight."

"He deserved it, so does Ryan."

"What I said to Ryan hurt worse than any punch I can give him. The reason I hit Jacob is because he had it coming, for a long time. After seeing him and Ryan together that was it for me, I lost it and saw red and just put all my weight into my fist and punched him. I wasn't expecting him to fall but that made it better for me."

Jack chuckles. "I'm sorry about what they did. Ryan is an idiot for hurting you." Jack said looking into Ethan's eyes. Ethan looks away trying to hold back the tears as the images of Ryan and Jacob are fresh in his mind.

Ethan turns around and walks out. Jack follows him out of the building and he sees Ethan walking toward Ryan who is sitting with the same guys as earlier. Ryan stands up as soon as he saw Ethan and started to talk.

"Ethan..."

"Stop. Come." Ethan says and walks to the other end of the building.
