Background: Denis Grey Was a poor soul. He grew up in a bad neighborhood and in a poor household. His family barely fed him, and never had enough money to feed themselves. But Dennis tended to look on the bright side of things during his childhood, that was until he was diagnosed with stage four cancer.

Stage IV cancer is sometimes referred to as metastatic cancer, because it often means the cancer has spread from its origin to distant parts of the body. This stage may be diagnosed years after the initial cancer diagnosis and/or after the primary cancer has been treated or removed.

Since then, his whole viewpoint of the world changed and he stopped caring about for his own life. And he was bullied because of that. He would show up to school in ragged clothes and bandages. The bullying got worse and since then he started avoiding people. One day, the cancer grew worse and he passed out on the floor. He has been in the hospital since his junior year and his condition gotten worse, as his parents can't afford to get him any treatment.

He then died at the age of 19. As his soul had departed, he then met with the Grim Reaper. And though he didn't really care if he was going to heaven or hell, he spent his time in the spirit realm. He still had that same attitude he had when he was human, not really caring about anything, listening to music and just being alone. However the Grim Reaper saw a bit of promise in him.

One day in the spirit realm, Dennis was in the spirit realm relaxing until the Grim Reaper came before him.

Dennis: What?

GR: Listen, I'm not going to be around forever, someone has to take my spot as The Grim Reaper and and I can't handle multiple souls at once. I'm now considering passing the torch on to you.

Dennis: Yeah, I'm not really interested in that type of stuff...

GR: With discipline, you can be the one who guides lost souls to the promised land or down below. But it could be worse you could be apprentice to the god of the underworld but trust me you don't want to deal with him.

Dennis: *sighs* If I say yes will you be me alone.

GR: All I need is a yes or no from you.

Dennis: Fine I'll do it.

He excepted the Grim Reaper's offer and trained under Death herself. He got good with scythe training and instantly advanced to the next level. The only thing he does need to work on is convincing. But it would be hard for him to do so because he lacks people/communication skills, but all in all he has Excelled in his training, but is still learning more from Death. Some say that his skills will be so great, he would one day soon rule the underworld, but until that day came, he was only the Grim Reaper's apprentice.
