Background: Jessica was a neighbor of both the Mayako and Mayura families when she was 4 years old. She was the one who provided the weapons for both of the rival families and she used to play with a girl named Rika Mayura. However, during Rika's quest for power, she and Jessica drifted apart. She did not want to be friends with someone who would lead her down a dark path.
When she was ten she saw a young girl at the age of 10 playing by herself in a Sakura garden. She felt bad for her and went to meet her. She told her her name and she went and the little girl said that her name was Yuka. They became steadfast friends and helped the Mayura and the Sugimoto family sign a peace treaty which was basically a bloodshed handshake.

One night, she attended as Yuka's as well as her brother's babysitter while her parents had an important thing to attend to, which was making peace with the Mayura family. And that night, while they were sleeping, Rika Mayura back from her pursuit of power  entered the house to kill the entire Mayako family. Woken up by a dripping sound, she found Yuka's brother's corpse and realized her parents were killed. She was heartbroken because it happened just as they became friends. She saw Yuka's body but she wasn't dead. There was however a giant slash at her neck. But Jessica saved Yuka by letting her escape through the backwoods while she received a gruesome wound in the back.

Jessica: Why...Why did it end like this with you.

Rika: The strongest chain always had the weakest link. And just switch you are? The weak link. This time I'm going to do more than just give you a minor back wound! It's time to meet your end, Jessica Sugimoto! *went to swing her sword down but was knocked out by Jessica's parents*

Her parents arrived at the scene and carried Jessica out of the bloody dojo before anything else bad happened to her. However as they were moving back to the house a white Cadillac pulled up in front of them and out came a man in a business suit.

?: Your daughter looks extremely injured. How about you relieve me of her and I take care of her wounds.

Father Sugimoto: I'll do you one better... Come inside and we'll treat to them.

?: Very well.

Jessica's father was a doctor and her mother was a volunteer as a nurse. And they both get paid an equal-decent amount. They were setting her up on a bed, the mysterious man shot them both and had Jessica injected with a syringe that releases all her negative energy and rage. The treatment triggered a reaction that resulted in the death of her  beloved parents and Jessica receiving superhuman powers.

Obsessed with exacting revenge against him. She intends to uncover and use the Mysterious man's own syringe against him as well as all that's affiliated. She became what she feared from her former best friend. She had a taste of what power and fear felt like. She is aware of the duality of her newfound character, acknowledging that in her quest for revenge, she has fallen "out of balance".

She has two personalities. In her normal state she appears as innocent as I lovely cinnamon roll, however when looked at the wrong way or reminded of what happened or manually, that reveals her murderous state. At that point she uses her supernatural abilities. She can create illusions, and mess with peoples minds and is a master at any form of sword fighting.
