Tobias

"Are you seriously jealous from a cat?" I ask, sitting in front of her, blade still in my lap. "I am not." Her eyes roll again. I remember when Louisa used to be crazy about me. Just like every single girl back at high school. "What are you studying, then?" I try to cut through the tension between us. "We're not friends, Woods." She sips tea. "We can be." I shrug, scratching the back of Blade's ear. A soft smile make its way to her lips. Her cheeks are hallow. Her ears seem to have a couple of piercings. An arrow surrounded by fire is making its way down her forearm. The black ink is mixed with reddish orange ink, adding blaze to the fire. "You're actually smiling?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"I just can't believe how crazy I used to be around you." She shakes her head, a smile still there. "I can't believe I dated you, either." I smile at how awkward this is. She chuckles. "I used to be a terrible girlfriend." She says. "Not really." I shrug, grinning. "Oh, come on. You found me kissing Shane in the bathroom." She crosses her arms. "Well, it is fair to say, I knew you liked Shane more." I say. "Well, you liked Ruby more as well." She nods, leaning back in her chair.

A couple minutes of silence pass by, as we both find other things to stare at, except each other. "I don't want you to hate me." I start. She looks at me. "Hate you?" Her eyebrow furrow. "I deserve to hear all the things you said last night." I say. "I know I am a bit harsh." She says. I raise an eyebrow, questioning. "Alright, alright. I am a lot harsher than before." She rolls her eyes. "How about a truce?" I offer her a hand.

"Why should I trust you?" She asks, eyeing my hand. "I love Ruby, Louisa. More than anything. I can't bring myself to hurt her anymore." I say. "You didn't love her, then?" She asks. I let out a sight. "I only left back then, because, I didn't want to cause her anymore pain." I stare at the ground. Or so I thought. "I don't know, Woods." She sights. I respect her a lot for not calling me Tobias. For understanding, just for once. "I promise you, if I ever hurt her or you or your family, I might shot myself, already." I offer her my hand once again.

She looks at me, then at my hand, smiling. "Find, old man. Just know, that I won't keep you out of my sight." She slides her hand into mine. They're small and hard. "I gotta make some food for this sleepyhead in there." I stand up, Blade jumping to the ground. "Can I help?" She asks. "You can try getting the cat to like you." I chuckle, as she rolls her eyes, smiling.

"Someone is happy." Natalie smiles, pouring the latte into a mug. "Well, is it a bad thing?" I ask, counting the money in the cashier. "No, I am just wondering why?" She shrugs. "Come on, Nat. You know why." I smile. "I just like to tease you, mr. Woods." She smirks, taking the mug to the table. I shake my head, smiling. The conversation, I had with Louise this morning was such a relief. She's giving me a chance. To prove that I can be better, that I can make Ruby happy.

Happy.

What a feeling. That warmth that spreads across you, when you're looking at someone you love, when you're eating you're favorite food, when you're hugging your mother. Happiness, is something you can't express by words. It is something you express by smiles, laughs and sparkling eyes. After a long time, I can be happy again. This time, I will make sure, that it lasts forever.

I push the door with my shoulder, after struggling to open it. I give it a swing closed with my leg on my way in. "Let me help you with that." Ruby's voice comes my way. "I got it." I make my way to the kitchen. I place the brown grocery bags on the small table there. "Hey." I turn to Ruby. Her hair is pulled into a messy bun. She pecks my lips softly, as I wrap my arms around her. "Please, don't do this here." Louisa whines. I chuckle, looking at her. Her arms are crossed, as she leans on the counter.

"Sorry, I just can't help it sometimes." I smirk. Her eyes roll as I look back at Ruby. "How was work?" I ask. "Good, I guess." She says. "How about you change and give us a hand here?" Louisa takes out the grocery, I bought. "Okay, okay." I smile, walking to the room.

"You guys are going to make me go crazy." Ruby says, closing the door behind her. I chuckle. "Seriously, yesterday fighting and now all smiles and happy?" She crosses her arms. "What's wrong with that?" I pull a grey t-shirt on. "It is just, odd, you know." She leans onto the door. "Let's say, I made a truce." I say, walking up to her. "A truce, huh?" She raises an eyebrow. "Yeah, we're trying to make things less tense between us." I shrug.

I look at her, freckles scattered around her face, lips still as red as ever. Her eyes staring into mine, touching my soul. "You're so beautiful." I say, holding her, my thumbs tracing her rips. "And, you're so cheesy." She chuckles, leaving me at the doorway. I smile as I watch her walk to the kitchen. Her hips rising and falling with every step she takes. I just think how lucky I am.

To have this woman, to be my woman.

I think as I follow her to the kitchen, a grin curving my lips.
