Ruby

Waiting with a paper that has Louisa's name within my hands, I think about how great the last two months have been. Tobias took some time to get over hurting Elite, I took sometime as well. But, the way I always woke up to his face, made things get better. It's like the dreams of the girl I used to be are coming true. "Hey!" Louisa's voice grabs my attention. I watch her as she runs up to me. Her arms pull me into a tight hug. "I missed you." I smile as we pull back. It's her spring break. I thought it would be a great idea, if she could come hang out with me, instead of going back home.

"I missed you, too." She smile as we walk out of the airport. Her hair is made into two french braids. A pair of jeans shorts and a white t-shirt wrap up her body. "How is Canada?" I ask on our way to the car. "It misses you." She says. I smile. "You still drive this piece of shit?" We arrive at the mustang. "Lou, you know I have always wanted a mustang." I say, putting her bag in the back seat. "Then, buy one." She gets in, slamming the door. I roll my eyes, getting into the car.

"Be honest, Rub. You keep it because it reminds you of the good old days." She says. "What is wrong with that?" I ask, driving out of the airport. "You're not letting go off the past." She looks out of the open window. I sight. I don't have to. We're back together. This is gonna be shocking news to Lou. I really hope, that she can support me on this, despite what happened on Christmas.

"Here, we are." I park the car. I take a deep breath as I get her bag and we make our way up to the apartment. I let my key open the door. Tobias is sitting on the couch. I smile at him. "I have to call Dad." Louisa says. "Hey." I say, smiling still at Tobias who is now standing up. "Who are- what is he doing here?"

I stare at Louisa as we both hear the door slam. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I say with fury. "What the hell is wrong with me? What the hell is wrong with you, Ruby?!" She shouts at me. "This is my life, alright! I am a grown up! I can make my own decisions now!" I shout back. This is exactly what I was scared of. "You're making decisions as if you're still that eighteen years old girl, Ruby! This is stupid! He's gonna hurt you!" She yells at me, as if she is mom.

"If this is stupid, then, I like it, alright!" I yell back. "Why are you doing this?" She asks. "I love him!" I shout, my eyes watering. Louisa sights. I sit down. "This is just gonna hurt you." She says and leaves me all alone. I cry into my hands. I love Tobias. I don't want to lose him again. I don't want Louisa to stop talking to me either. If I can't have Peter and Tobias both, now. Maybe, I can try having Louisa and Tobias. I just need time. I need to get Lou to understand.

"Good morning, sunshine." I wake up to a kiss on my forehead. I smile, my eyes closed, hugging the sheets to my bare body. The sunlight hits my eyes as soon as I open them. I look at Tobias, watching me. "Hey." I say. "I made you some coffee along with a cheese sandwich." He smiles, his fingers tugging my hair behind my ear. He walks to the small cupboard at the side of the room. I sit up straight, taking the coffee mug, next to me. "Is Lou home?" I ask. "Yeah, she's having breakfast out there." He buttons up his shirt.

"I am so sorry about yesterday." I sip my coffee. "Don't worry about it. It should take time, for them to forgive me." He says. "But, it is not your fault." I say. "Hey, a part of it, is. Getting you involved in my life back then, I should have been more careful." He sits at the side of the bed, right in front of me. "If it is then, it is my fault as well as yours." I place the mug on the nightstand beside me. "It is not, Ruby. I knew that you don't fit in my life, but I still loved you anyway." He cups my cheek into his warm hand. I feel my eyes tear up.

"Hey, it's all history now. I am here. We're together." He smiles at me. I throw myself between his arms. His warm body collides with mine. I feel his strong arms, pulling me tighter against his chest. "I love you." I say. "I love you, more." He kisses my forehead. He gets up. "You should get up if you don't want to be late."  He smirks as I freak out and get out of bed, wrapped in the sheets.

After a fast shower, I start to slide on a black knee length skirt along with a shirt, tucked right into it. "Did I ever tell you that you look hot in your work clothes?" He grabs my waist in his hands. "You're such a flirt." I shake my head, smiling. "I was and always will be your flirt." He smirks at me. I peck his lips. "I gotta go, flirt." I smile. I pull on my heels. We both exit the room. "Hey." Lou says. "Hey." I say, last night traveling to my mind. "Going to work?" She asks. "I have to check on a patient." I shrug. "I could cook some dinner." She offers.

"That would be nice." Tobias smiles. "Right." She gives a flat smile. "I gotta go." I sight, getting my purse. Blade comes meowing. "Hey, buddy." I squat to pet him. "I fed him." Louisa says. "Great." I plant a kiss on its furry face. "See you, guys later." Lou says as we leave. I smile at her. Maybe she is reconsidering it after all.
