Anne is rubbing her eyes with a yawn. "Good morning." She says. "Good morning, Sleepy head." I say. Tessa sits down. "Are you actually in a good mood?" Tessa asks. I roll my eyes playfully. I am happy. I feel like I am that eighteen years old kid again, who just got the love of his life. "You look like you're in love, uncle." Anne says, sipping her orange juice. I smiles. "What if I am?" Tessa looks at me with confused eyes. "That's so cute." Anne says, smiling back at me. "Very cute." Tessa grits on her teeth. I look at her as I lean back into my chair.
All two weeks, I have been meeting Ruby in secret. We would go out and talk. We would eventually just have sex. We went to visit Peter's grave twice at least. We went to visit mom a couple of times as well. Being with Ruby again feels like I have been brought back from the dead. I feel so much happier.
"The stars here makes me feel like I am in the sky." She says, stretching her arms across the sky. "I said the same thing when mom first brought me here." I say. "It's very beautiful." She says, staring at the sky. "I know." I say, staring at the love of my life. I am not being extra. I think she is the love of my life. She is the one I love more than anything. "Do you know that you're the love of my life?" I ask. She chuckles, looking at me. "Okay, you're serious." I raise an eyebrow at her. "I love you, too, Tobias." She smiles at me. "I don't just love you, Ruby. I can't live without you." I say. "You have been doing it for five years." She says. "Those five years were definitely hell for me." I say, sitting up straight. "I am here, now." She says. "I never want to loose you again, ever." I say, kissing the palm of her hand.
"What happens when we get back to New York?" She asks, with her head resting on my chest. I don't know. I haven't figured out what should I do with Elite, yet. "We can't just pretend like this never happened. Like those two weeks are nothing." I feel her fingertips dancing on my stomach. I sight. "You can't leave her, can you?" She turns her head, looking at me. "She means a lot to me, Ruby. She went through a lot with me. I can't bring myself to break her heart." I say. "You broke my heart." She demands. "Look, can we not fight?" I ask, holding her neck. She sits up straight, leaving her back bare. "Ruby, please, don't make this any harder." I say, placing my hand on her back. She starts to get dressed. I sit at the edge of the bed. I pull my briefs up. I stand up. "Ruby." I say, holding her hand. "When you have made up your mind, give me a call." She says, leaving the room. Anne and Tessa went to the supermarket. I sit on the edge of the bed, holding my head in my hands.
"Should I give you a ride to the airport?" Tessa asks, as I stand by the door. "I am okay. There is an uber downstairs." I say. "I will miss you, uncle Tobi!" Anne hugs me tightly. I lift her and turn around one time, before placing her back on her feet. "I will you too, Anne." I kiss her forehead. "Come visit us some times." Tessa says as we hug. "I will." I say as we pull back. I walk downstairs and take the uber, to the airport not sure when will I see California again.
"How was your winter break, then?" Nat asks as she places the coffee beans into the machine. "It was okay." I say, as the memories I made recently with Ruby, flood my mind. "How was yours?" I ask, wiping the counter. "I spend it with my parents. They even got to meet Jake." She says, smiling. "Your boyfriend?" I ask. "Yeah." She says, pouring coffee into the mug. I smile back.

"You're a blast now, Harley." I say, patting my patient's shoulder. "Thank you, Dr. Clark." I leave her on the bed and walk to my desk. "You will take these vitamins till we meet again in a couple of months, alright?" I hand her a paper with the treatment's name. "Thank you so much." She smiles. "No worries." I smile back as she leaves my office. I sit in my leather seat. It has been a week since winter break. Tobias hasn't called. I wonder if the time we spent together was nothing. He said he loved me. More than once. "Hello." Alex's face emerges from the door. "Hey." I say. "I really hope we're getting tacos today. We haven't had any since coming back from winter break." He sits in on of the seats in front of the desk. "I am sorry, Alex. I really have a lot of work. I ordered food." I say. I don't really have that much work. It's just. Things are awkward with Alexander now. His flirting and nice sweet way. For a second, you may think that he likes me or something. "Oh, okay. It's just Faith misses you." He says. "Maybe tomorrow." I shrug. "Alright. Good luck with all your work." He walks to the door. I give him a smile as he leaves the office.
I pet Blade's head as he jumps up the kitchen counter. He purrs against my touch. I fill up a cup with wine. The microwave beeps. I take the plate full of leftovers of pizza to the table. I sit down. I hear the door as it knocks. I walk to the door, Blade hurrying after me. I meet with his face. "Is that wine?" He asks, as Blade meows on his sight. "Hey, there." He picks up the cat and enters the apartment. "You're just gonna let yourself in?" I cross my arms, after drinking the last of my wine. "Of course not, I asked Blade. He let me in." He smiles. I roll my eyes, closing the door. "It's been a week!" I say. He puts Blade down. "Look, I needed to see you." He says. "Took a while." I cross my arms. He sights. "Did you break up with Elite?" I ask. "I am doing it soon, I promise. She gotta a case coming up. It's important. I don't want it to affect her." He says. "I feel so bad." I say. "I know." He pulls me into his arms.
