Jeongguk woke up with the sunlight shining in his face.
He rolled over, wanting to feel Tae's warmth to snuggle himself back to sleep again, to only find an empty space beside him.
He shot up, eyes wide open now, hastily looking around to check the room for Taehyung but having him nowhere in sight but finding a cute bear coffee mug on the bedsite table with a little light blue sticky note attached to it.
"mornin doll,
i have a packed schedule today but i
didnt wanna wake you up
i'll be back at around 8
have a nice day and enjoy the hot cocoa!
♡tae"
Smiling widely at the handwritten note, Jeongguk took a big sip of the slightly too sweet hot cocoa, flipping the note over seeing a little sentence written on the back as well.
"p.s ;
loved last night"
Almost choking on the sip he just took he put the cup down, hitting himself on the chest repeatedly until his coughing stopped, leaving him with a peach colored blush.
Gguk reached over to his phone, detaching it from the charger and unlocking it, wanting to see if either Jimin or his mother texted him only to find his notifications spammed with twitter.
He was slightly confused, yes he had been getting a lot of twitter messages from other purples after skyping with Taehyung but never that much that it literally got his phone to lag.
Gguk moved his thumb to click on one of them, entering his passcode so it could open but he almost let his phone fall out his hand upon seeing the tweet.
Hesitantly he clicked on the link wanting to see if this was all just one huge prank that the world decided to pull on him.
His eyes widened, tears treatening to roll down as he saw the headline again, a photo attached of Taehyung pulling him behind himself, the hickeys on both their necks painfully prominent.
The article showed a comparison shot from before the fansign where Taehyung entered the venue with no marks on his neck, proving the fact that they most likely gave them to eachother.
he shakiky pressed the back button, a single tear escaping as he further scrolled down the comments.
Jeongguk always thought of purples as a loving fandom, accepting and sweet, like they were to him after he skyped with Taehyung but now -- they seemed furious, insulting and unaccepting.
Be easily overread the positive comments supporting the situation as he was too focused on the negative, especially the one asking why Taehyung would want a 'crusty ass groupie'.
It all got to his head to the point where he was asking himself -- what Tae even wanted from him, a 'groupie', a fan.
He clicked on another notification, hoping to find one with positive comments towards him.
He, Jeongguk, is responsible for Taehyung's biggest fansite closing and in his eyes the commenter was right, it was his fault -- he gave Taehyung the hickey without even thinking about it twice.
He locked his phone letting it fall in his lap as he breathed in deeply trying to calm himself that everything is gonna be okay but the more he tried to convince himself the more he didn't trust his own words.
The thought that he just might have ruined Taehyung's career just like that, which is actually what he tried to be careful about, was what he tried not to do.
All he thought about right now is that he had to leave.
He stood up wobbily, quiet sobs escaping once in a while as he gathered his stuff, stuffing it carelessly into his bag before noticing that he was wearing Taehyung's clothes too.
Gguk couldn't recall putting them on, so he assumed that Tae must have done so which made his heart hurt even more than it already did in the first place.
He took of the sweatpants, stepping out of them shakily as the cold hair hit his exposed skin, quickly grabbing his jeans that were on the floor and sliding them on. Also pulling of the shirt which, in Jeongguk's opinion, wonderfully smelled like Taehyung but dropping that thought just as quick as he drapped his big hoodie over himself.
He went over to pick up the rest of his clothes that he brought when he decided to stay for a couple of weeks, and stuffed them in his already overflowing backpack, throwing it over his shoulder the weight of it making him admit a loud cry.
Sobbing, Jeongguk made his way over to the apartment door, pulling up his hood and putting on his face mask. He did think about writing Taehyung a post it message but he just couldn't bring himself to do it -- he wouldn't want him here anyways.
So he opened the door with a quivering hand and loud sobs escaping his mouth before stepping out and closing it behind him, not even caring to check if he forgot anything.
He really just wanted to get out of there.
Gguk walked over to the giant glass elevator weakly pressing the down button and waiting for it to arrive.
Millions and Millions of thoughts were flying through his head, making his world spin.
Thoughts of the thousands of hate comments he and also Taehyung must have gotten.
Thoughts that this might be going to the news and that somehow his mom or even his dad would see.
Thoughts about how disappointed and angry Taehyung must be at him.
The ding of the elevator pulled him out of his dark and intoxicating thoughts, making his way in and down to the hall, rushing out before anyone could see him.
Just as Jeongguk went out, he was hit by a wave of cold air making him shiver immensely just wishing for Taehyung's warm and calming embrace around him at this very second.
"Hello, excuse me sir!" a middle aged man shouted at him from a couple meters away with a big camera in his hands.
"Would you answer a couple of questions for me?" the sir said as he walked closer, making Jeongguk take a couple steps back crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"So you are Kim Taehyung's groupie am i correct?" the man asked with such seriousness that it was making Jeongguk's eyes widen to an usual maximum as he felt tears pooling in them again.
"So is it true that you gave him the hickey? i mean it looked pretty obvious." Gguk didn"t answer as tears were falling again and decided to just walk, get away from his dude and to the subway station to his house.
"Hey, don't walk away now! just tell me do you two have a fling?" the man ran after him, now holding his camera right in Jeongguk's face, the sound and light of the flashes making him dizzy and disoriented.
"Come on, one simple answer." the man shifted his way so that he was walking backwards in front of Gguk now blocking his way, still taking pictures.
Heat was rising to his head as Gguk closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"N-no comment. Now l-leave me a-alone." Jeongguk stuttered out, pushing past the guy in one swift move and rushing down the stairs to the subway and entering the nearest train that was going in the right direction.
A weird feeling in his stomach started to built as he saw a controller at the other end of the train.
Jeongguk cluched his phone in his hoodie front pocket hoping and praying that he would be able to get out before they reached him.
He could already hear the man asking the people standing near him for tickets as his stop came up and he was the first to bolt out the doors and up the stairs.
Jeongguk reached his house just minutes later, completely frozen and exhausted, unlocking the door and going in.
He smashed the door close with his foot, a shiver running down his spine as he was here again for the first time in weeks.
Memories of horrible times flashing in his head, making his state of mind even worse now.
Gguk was pulled out his trance when he felt his phone vibrating.
Tae♡
baby where did you go
i finished early to spend
time with you
Jeongguk felt his heart hurt at Taehyung sweet messages, tears falling again.
He went back to the article, copying the link. He didn't want Taehyung to be in the dark about this situation, eventhough he was sure that his management would contact him about it anyway.
allkpop.com/article/122018/ki..
i think its better if i leave you alone
i'm sorry its my fault
He started sobbing yet again, a single tear drop hitting his phone, immediately putting it in flight mode not wanting to see what Taehyung had to say and also to stop the constant wave of twitter notifications, degrading and insulting him.
He went upstairs, to his room and plopping down on his cold bed, curling into a ball and wanting nothing more than Taehyung's sweet and warm embrace around him.
