"i-i'll go alone tae-" Jeongguk stuttered, still in shock and fear about his mother's condition.

"Are you sure, doll? I can come with yo-"

"nono i-it's fine. J-just wait for me h-here?"
Taehyung grabbed Jeongguk's shivering hands, reaching one to his face, kissing it softly before nodding.

Gguk wobbly got out of the car, feeling the headache he now got from crying the whole car ride hit him twice as bad, making his way into the building and to the reception.

A sweet old looking lady was standing behind it, doing paper work of some sort, raising her eyes up as Jeongguk stood infront of her.

"Hello, welcome to Soeul gangnam district Hospital. How can I help you?" She smiled, putting the pen down she had in her hand.

"h-hello. I'm Jeon Jeongguk. I'm h-here t-to see m-my mother." Jeongguk really tried his best to hide his teary eyes, not looking the woman in the eyes as he spoke, fiddling his fingers.

"Name of your mother?" The woman quickly seemed to notice his tears anyways, speaking much softer, not as cheery as before.

"J-Jeon Miran." Gguk sobbed, the pooling tears now just finding their way down his cheek.

"Alright, i'll call the head nurse down, she has been waiting for you. It's all gonna be fine, sweetheart." She weakly smiled at Jeongguk as slight encouragement that everything will be okay before pressing a button on the phone beside her. "She will be here in a couple of seconds."

Jeongguk nodded, his head staying down.

He felt horrible. Like the most horrible son a mother could have. He didn't even say 'I love you' back when he left the house. His mother is way too good to him. She doesn't deserve a son like him.

"Jeon Jeongguk, right?" As Jeongguk recognized the voice as the one who called him earlier, from behind him, he turned around, nodding instantly just wanting to see his mother quickly.

"Alright she's just down this hall. Follow me, please." She signalized with her hand for Gguk to follow her.

They went through a big white door with a sign on it that Jeongguk was too distracted to even care about, walking down the seemingly endless hall before the woman stopped at a door.

"Before you enter, she insists she fell down the stairs but her bruises cannot come from such fall. The only ways those bruises come about are mostly from a really hard hit by for example a hand." The nurse patiently explained to him in a quiet tone so no one around them would hear. "Maybe you can console her, so she might tell us the truth so we can give it a better treatment."

"O-okay. Can i s-see her n-now?" Jeongguk didn't even pay a lot of attention to the words the nurse said, knowing his mother must be in pain just in the next room.

She nodded, opening the door for him, letting him in.

Jeongguk broke out into even more tears upon seeing his mother, laying on the hospital bed, bruises around her eyes and arms, eyes closed, just looking exhausted.

"M-mom." He went over to the bed, his mother slowly opening her eyes, a smile appearing on her also bruised lip.

"Ah Jeonggukie honey." Her voice sounded cracked, not like herself at all.

"What- what happened, mom?" He carefully took her hand in his stroking it, making sure not to touch any of the bruises.

"I- i fell down the stairs." She tried to be serious and convincing but Jeongguk could see right through her obvious lie.

"Stop lying m-mom. Y-you can t-tell me and y-you know i c-can already tell what happened." He sobbed, the thought that his mother had to experience what he went though himself so often by now just crushed him.

She looked up right into his eyes, mouth opening but words not daring to escape, so Gguk gave her an encouraging glare, that he won't tell anyone as for now, that she can trust him with anything.

" -- h-he came home earlier. Didn't go to work. J-just got dru-drunk at a bar. He w-was so mad you-you we-weren't home and s-started saying th-those malicious things a-about you. I- i said y-you are his son a-and thats when ev-everything h-happened." She broke out into tears immediately, leaving Gguk in shock.

He knew his father was a fucking asshole, a shithead who only cared about himself and maybe his so beloved daughter but he never dared to lay a hand on his wife-- but now he did. And it's all because of Jeongguk. Because she stood up for him once.

"W-where i-is he now?" He asked in concern, thinking he might still be at the house, just waiting for him to get back so he could beat the shit out of him -- again.

"T-took a bag. Left - left the house." She dared to look into Jeongguk's tear filled eyes, crying herself.

Gguk immediately engulfed her into a hug, consolingly rubbing her back in circles.
"W-we're gon-gonna get t-through this."

"I-i dont want y-you to stay a-at the house a-alone. He c-could come back. C-can you fine s-somewhere to st-stay?" His mom released herself from the embrace.

"I-I'll find something, mom." He finally held back his tears and voice cracks, knowing he now really needs to be the one to show some strength.
He doesn't want her to worry even more.

"G-go visit Hyeree t-tomorrow please. Say m-mommy is f-fine." She sobbed yet again.

"I will, mom. I-I love you." He hugged her one final time, hearing her whisper an 'i love you' back to him before saying goodbye and leaving the room.

He took a deep breath, trying to swallow the tears forming yet again. He has never seen his mother that weak. Yes, he's seen her cry almost daily since his little sister was in the hospital but never like -- this.

Jeongguk made his way out the building and over to Taehyung's car, entering it, seeing a very concerned looking Tae.

"Doll-" Taehyung took both of his hands in his, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Let's go to mine and cuddle?"

Jeongguk nodded slowly keeping his head down. "I-i'm so sorry t-this d-date had t-to turn into this." He felt ashamed that Taehyung had to see him this weak on just their first date and even console him --what a fucking wimp he is, just like his father said.

He felt a hand sliding under his chin, raising his head up. "Don't apologize." Taehyung looked deeply into his eyes and Jeongguk could tell his eyes were telling him that it was fine -- that he would be fine.

Taehyung slowly and carefully let go of his hands, starting the engine and driving back to his apartment, tugging Jeongguk in his bed and hugging him tightly, pressing sweet little kisses on his forehead until he fell asleep.

It oddly wasn't weird for both of them, it felt like they knew eachother for years already-- eventhough they only did for about a week.
