It's almost as if time freezes as I stand with my eyes locked on the figure clutching Olivia's shoulder. Panic flows freely though my body - he's going after Olivia.

Olivia seems to notice my shell-shocked state and glances between me and the insidious being holding her by the shoulder. "Hey, Haven?" She asks warily, concern lacing her tone as she lifts a hand and waves it in front of my face, "Are you alright?"

After a moments hesitation, I stutter a short reply, not really paying attention - my eyes scour our surroundings, looking for anything that could be classed as a danger - anything that results in him being here. "Y-Yeah, just fine."

Noticing my distracted tone, she gently shuts my locker. "Okay then." She trails off, looking immensely confused. She awkwardly adjusts the strap of her backpack on her shoulder as silence drifts between us. She sighs, "Haven, something is obviously wrong, what is it?"

I don't answer straight away, I allow the question to float around for a bit. I guess I can't really keep it from her anymore. "I'll tell you later, I promise. I'm just, trying to figure something out."

There's nothing around her that could pose a threat.

I look at him to see a confused look etched upon his features - I guess I'm not the only one who's befuddled by this situation. All too quickly this look changes into a knowing, triumphant smirk, just as Olivia reaches into her bag. "Okay." She sighs, pulling out a clump of foil from the large leather backpack.

"Olivia, what is that?" I ask, slightly distracted by him, but mostly focuses on her.

The confused look returns as she waves the clump of foil in the air. "My sandwich?" She says, but it comes out more as a question than a statement, "it's lunch break Haven."

I disregard her second statement.

The sandwich.

It has something to do with this, if I'm correct.

Slowly, she unwraps the clump of foil, revealing the contents, obviously too hungry to wait for me anymore. She carefully picks one up and brings it to her mouth.

Peanut butter.

The sandwich is peanut butter.

Olivia is deathly allergic to anything that contains nuts.

Quickly, I snap my hand forward and knocked the sandwich out of her hand, causing it to the laminate ground. She's so surprised that she drops the other one. "What the hell Haven?" She exclaims, standing staring down open-mouthed at what was her death ridden lunch.

"Peanut butter." Is all I say, as I gesture to the mound of bread.

My best friend nearly died from a sandwich.

She looks down at the mound and inspects it. "Woah." She whispers before turning to me, "How did you know that? You just saved my life, thank you Haven." She rushes out, looking between the mound snd myself in awe.

I guess there's no point in keeping it a secret anymore. One way or another she's going t figure out something - she's already been suspicious of me for s while now.

I'm going to tell her everything.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." I mutter, with a small smile.

* * *

After about five minutes of silence, Olivia speaks up, "You were right, I don't believe you." She sighs, standing from the seated position on the grass covered ground which she was in previously.

I sigh too, imitating her actions. "Think about it Liv, it makes sense. Think of all the times I've saved people from death - the girl yesterday, you this morning - every time, he appears and I just, have to help."

She still looks sceptical, but I can easily seen the cogs turning behind her bright, confuddled eyes as she pieces together all of the suspicions she's had of me, ever since we met. The silence stretched for over s minute before she says four words that I didn't expect her to say.

"Okay. I believe you."

After a moment of temporary disbelief, I manage to stutter out two small words of confusion, "W-Wait what?"

Olivia laughs at my shock. "I said, 'I believe you.' It makes sense - all the times you gave me some crazy excuse before turning and running off, only for me to find out the next day that someone could've died if you had not been in the right place at the certain time. I thought it was just luck, but I guess it does seem more likely." She trails off, knowing full well that it is almost the complete opposite - luck seems more likely than seeing death. After a moment, she adds with a large, bubbly smile, "Besides, it must be cool - you're literally a heroin. You saved me from my sandwich."

I tilt my face so it's towards the floor as I shake my head, slightly amused by her last statement. As we move towards the school a small knowing smile graces my lips.

Oh Olivia.

If only you knew.

If only you knew how hellish it is to physically see death.
