Chapter Fifteen: The Date
(If you haven't read the last two chapters go read them, third time updating today)
Y/N's POV
I sat on my bed doing homework with my laptop in front of me with Twitter opened and my phone blasting music from Spotify. I found it quite relaxing until my phone started ringing and my music stopped. I turned my head to look at the caller ID and I saw Grian was calling me. I couldn't remember when we exchanged numbers and I didn't know why he wanted to talk to me, but I answered anyway.
"Hello," I called into the phone, trying to hold it up to my ear.
"Hey Y/N, I was wondering if you would like to hang out," Grian replied.
"O-okay? Where do you want to meet up at?" I asked.
"I heard the fish people have their own restaurant," Grian told me.
"Do you wanna go there?" He went on.
"Let me ask my mom's permission first," I told him before walking downstairs and muting him.
My mom was sitting at our dining room table.
"Hey Mom?"
She looked up from what she was doing.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Grian would like to take me out,"
I replied.
Her face lit up with a big smile.
"Yes! Yes yes yes! Go get ready! Now!"
She shouted at me. I am so happy I muted Grian.
"All right, all right! Aren't you curious as to when he's picking me up and dropping me off at home? And if my homework is done?"
I asked her.
"Of course I care about those! I know your homework is done because you already told me earlier and I can ask him when he gets here to pick you up,"
She explained.
"But we don't know what time he'll arrive here."
I pointed out.
"Just tell him to pick you up at six thirty,"
She replied.
"All right, thanks Mom!"
I ran upstairs to my room.
"All right, Grian, can you be here at six thirty?"
I asked him.
"Yep that sounds good, see you then!"
I stared out the window of my house looking for Grian. I saw him walking down the street and I quickly shut the curtains and ran upstairs.
The doorbell rang and I heard footsteps downstairs and the door opening.
"Ah, Grian! Always nice to see you again."
I heard my Mom speak.
"Same to you, Jennifer,"
Grian replied.
I walked out of the bathroom and walked down the stairs. I was wearing a black turtleneck sweater made of cotton a long with a pair of black leggings with a plad red and black skirt over it with some black flats. I had slightly curled my hair.
I had really long eyelashes so I didn't bother putting mascara on. I only put on some light sparkly pink lip gloss and some blush. I didn't bother putting on eyeshadow either. Grian looked at me and smiled.
All I could think about though, was worrying if she had her camera.
"Should we be going now?" Grian asked.
"Sure," I replied.
"Bye mom!" I waved goodbye to her.
I then turned to Grian when my mom closed the door.
"So where's this restaurant at?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled.
"Its a surprise,"
"Fine, are we walking?" I asked.
"Yeah, I sadly don't have a car yet and it's good exercise to walk," He replied.
"You can open them now,"
Grian had made me close my eyes so I would be surprised on where the restaurant was located. I opened my eyes and saw the ocean before me.
"This is beautiful," I whispered.
I turned my head a little to the right and saw a large restaurant. "That's where we're eating." Grian told me.
I stared in awe at the beautiful site before me.
Grian took my hand in his and led me towards the restaurant.
"Table for two please." Grian told the female fish person.
"Follow me please," She told us and led us over to a small little booth where we sat across from each other.
The waitress handed us two menus.
"Can I get you started with something to drink?" She asked.
"May I have a (F/D)?" Grian asked her. She nodded and wrote it down on the notebook.
"I'll have the same, please," I told her when she turned to me. She wrote it down and walked off.
There was a moment of silence but Grian then looked at me.
"So I feel like we haven't really gotten to know each other yet." Grian told me.
I slightly blushed and looked at him.
"What do you want to know?" I asked him.
He let out a chuckle. "This is gonna sound really cheesy and stupid but, what's your favorite color?" He asked.
I tried to force myself not to laugh. "I guess my favorite is (F/C)." I told him.
"What about you?"
"Red,"
"My turn to ask a question." I told him.
"All right,"
"What's it like in England?" I asked.
"Very beautiful, I love the English Countryside and there's lots of things to do," He told me.
"Any specific sitings?" I asked.
"Big ben is a site to see, he's a large clock tower. And there's also London Eye which is a ferris wheel." He went on.
"I'm trying to think of things I can ask you to get to know you better." Grian told me.
"Let's see, my parents adopted me when I was fourteen, I don't really remember anything from when I was younger, I must have blocked it out,"
Grian smiled at me with curious eyes.
"And you've seen my mom with the garden," I added.
I went on about things I enjoy and Grian did the same.
Grian and I sat on the beach together staring out at the sunset.
"I've had a lot of fun tonight, Grian." I told him with my head rested on his shoulder.
"I did too, Y/N," He replied.
The sunset was full of orange and red with the sun barely visible.
"I forgot to tell you something," Grian whispered, loud enough for me to hear.
"What would that be?" I asked.
"You look beautiful,"
I blushed at his compliment.
When the sunset was over, I lifted my head from Grian's shoulder and we looked at each other. He brushed my hair out of my face and behind my ear.
I slightly turned my head where I couldn't really see Grian's face. I felt his hand brush against my cheek. My eyes fluttered closed and moments later I found a pair of lips touching mine. My eyes opened and I saw Grian pulling away.
"I'm sorry," He whispered.
It wasn't one of those kisses you would see in a movie or what normally led to people doing things and people saying it was wet. But this one was different. I've read romance books and the way the author describes the kiss is fascinating. This kiss was warm, and definitely not expected. It wasn't wet and it lasted for a bit. It wasn't one of those you read in a book where the girl has been longing for it, because I haven't been longing for it. Grian and I have definitely become on the level, good friends. I didn't know what he referred to me as, hopefully not girlfriend because I'm not ready for something like that.
My eyes met with Grian.
"Itsfine."
He seemed surprised by how I reacted.
'My first kiss.'
"Did I steal your first kiss?" Grian asked.
I nodded my head slowly and looked at the time on my phone.
"Its nine thirty, I should be getting home." I told him.
"I agree,"
We got up and he started walking me home.
"Thank you, Grian." I gave Grian a big hug before walking in my house lost in my own thoughts. I made my way upstairs where I knew, I would either sleep peacefully or he will return again.
Grian's POV
When I made it down the end of Y/N's street where I knew she couldn't see me, I pulled my phone out and called Ellen.
"Hello?" Ellen answered.
"Hey it's Grian, its about Y/N." I told her.
"Okay, what is it?" She asked.
"How old was Y/N when she died?"
"About fourteen, why do you ask?" Ellen asked.
"Because she's adopted and doesn't remember anything about her past,"
