Grian paused as he reached for the door handle, finally reaching into his pockets for his phone- notifications had been appearing non-stop for the past hour or so, but he'd been in a hurry to get out of the rain and home.

He frowned slightly, pursing his lips as he scanned the notifications. Well that's probably not good.

There were multiple other messages, but they mostly consisted of either 'GRIAN ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE' or 'GET TO YOUR APARTMENT QUICKLY'.

I should- probably call him back in a bit, huh?

He frowned at another message. Huh?

Well, that isn't ominous at all. Grian thought with a roll of his eyes, although the parrot hybrid still felt a small twinge of anxiety. He kept mentioning my apartment- I should probably check everything's okay before I call him back. Then I can make fun of him for being dramatic.

He stuffed his phone back into his hoodie pocket, trying to calm himself down as he opened the door to the apartment he shared with Mumbo and Scar. I'm sure it's fine, I'm sure it's fine, it's fine, it's-

It is not fine.

Grian's gaze darted around the living room as his falsely confident expression vanished and a mildly alarmed (and concerned) one replaced it.

To put it nicely, the apartment was a mess. Which wasn't unusual, but it was a lot more of a mess than usual.

The couch had somehow been tipped over, someone had clearly fallen into the TV as the screen was smashed, and there was shattered shards of glass on the floor that were clearly from a glass of water (or something like that). Some of the papers that had been on the desk next to the couch also appeared to be scattered across the floor, and there was a small amount of blood near both instances of smashed glass (from the glass and from the TV).

It wasn't enough blood to cause major concern, but it was enough to confirm Grian's suspicions that a fight (a struggle?) of some sort had occurred.

Grian paused, his gaze darting around the apartment as he attempted to calm himself down. Did someone break in?! Did- no, X wouldn't know about that. It has to be something related to... the heroes. But that's- this is really extreme, I don't-

I know they're morally gray, but- this is a whole other level. He spun around, about to immediately walk out of the door when he noticed a note pinned to the back side of the door.

The parrot hybrid rushed towards the note, scanning it quickly.

'Grian Gotts.

I'm going to give you a chance to turn yourself in, simply because one of my fellow heroes pleaded your case and said that you had some sort of morals, which clearly isn't the case.

Until then, your roommate stays with us. I'm sure you'll describe this as us using him as 'leverage', or some other form of crude phrasing.

I do apologise for the mess. Your roommate wasn't too keen on helping us persuade you to do the right thing and turn yourself in. We had to do a bit of persuading of our own.

However I'm sure your roommates will kick you out soon enough, considering the fact that you're a villain.

P.S. Jellie is safe, she's with Scar, don't worry :) I wouldn't lower myself to hurting a cat.

Grian swore under his breath, his hands trembling slightly he pulled the note off the door and stared at it for a moment before stuffing it into his pocket and producing his phone, calling Xisuma quickly. "X? X, I am- I shouldn't have-"

"Is it that bad? What's the state of your apartment like?" Xisuma asked in a somewhat sympathetic tone.

"It's- pretty messed up, actually." Grian said in a voice that was much quieter than usual.

"I- tried to call you, man, but you wouldn't-"

"I know! I know, I know, I'm sorry, I should've answered your calls, I..." Grian trailed off, straightening slightly. "What do I do?"

He could hear his friend sigh on the other side of the phone. "Look, you make it down to headquarters, I'll meet you there, and we and the other villains will come up with a plan to get your roommate back, okay, G?"

Grian frowned, his wings puffing up slightly. "I don't- why is my 'roommate' continually being mentioned? I have two roommates." He added with a sigh, his frown deepening at the pause after his question. He hadn't been entirely sure he would like the answer to the question, and it turns out he was right, he didn't.

"Well... you know your roommate Scar?" The dirty blonde nodded even though Xisuma couldn't see him. "He's... he's a hero. Hotguy. I'm kinda surprised you didn't make the connection, Scar doesn't make much of an attempt to change his voice. He doesn't even use a voice changer like the other heroes."

Oh my- that... explains a lot, actually. I just... Grian paused, shaking his head quietly and moving on swiftly, although his voice still trembled slightly. "So... meet you at the villain headquarters?" Xisuma seemed to get the hint and appeared to know better than to continue talking about the subject.

"Yes. Don't worry. Your roommate is gonna be fine." His friend added quietly.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

L Mumbo I suppose

And yeah, Jellie's fine dw, Scar took her out of the apartment before Jev and False tried to convince Mumbo to go with them

And yeah the heroes are very morally gray/leaning towards evil, 3/5 had zero problems with the plan of essentially kidnapping Mumbo, and Scar only had a problem with it because it was Mumbo they were basically kidnapping

Etho had a problem with it because he's the only hero with some decent morals, the other heroes will do anything that's justifiable in defence of, in their opinion, the greater good

Anyways L Mumbo and Grian, this is what happens when you ignore X-eye-zooma's phone calls

And dw, the heroes won't hurt Mumbo any further than the injuries he received during the 'convincing' (Jev and False pretty much knocked him out because he wouldn't go along with their plan), so Mumbo is just kinda in the hero headquarters tied to a chair and really annoyed
