Then they all nodded, Branch sighed and followed after Lake. Lake on the other hand, she walked around the forest while grumbling and pushing branches and twigs away. "Why was I so stupid?! I already knew he would go to some boring place. Ugh!".

She said and punched a twig away, but then it hit her back as she groaned. She quickly brushed the leaves from her body and continued on. She sighed and sat in front of the lake. She looked down at the lake and smiled a bit. "I always loved going here when I'm mad or depressed. How about you Branch-"

She said and turned to the side, but saw nothing. She paused and sighed. "Oh, right. He's not here...".

She hugged her knees and looked at the sunset. Boy, was it fast. Branch found her, he slowly walked behind her and about to hold her shoulder, but he backed away and bit his bottom lip. Then he cleared his threat and chuckled. "Pretty nice out here, huh?".

But she stayed quiet, quickly wiping a bit of of her tears. She didn't look back yet, guess Branch has to keep talking. "Listen, I didn't mean to hurt you, or say all those things...".

She stayed quiet and didn't move. He looked down at his feet and whispered. "I'm sorry.".

"And?" He suddenly heard her saying as he smirked and held his waist. "And I'm stupid.".

"And?" She said again and slightly looking back, Branch rolled his eyes and looked up at the sky. "And I'm a jerk...".

"And?" She said one last time as he chuckled and smiled a bit. "And in a stinky troll...".

"The stickiest troll ever" she turned around as they both shared a warm smile. Lake's pupils grew from her eyes as she stood up and held Branch's hands. Branch looked away from her, while sighing. "Listen, I hope you can forgive me...".

"I already did" she said and hugged him. Branch's eyes widened, but then he closed his eyes and hugged her back. Then Branch whispered to her. "How stupid of Smidge and Cooper to make us fight like that...".

"Hey, you're stood, too, you know?" Lake said as Branch groaned. "Why me?".

Lake giggled and gently punched his shoulder. "Hey, I'm stupid, too. Can we be friends again?".

"Best friends. We're best friends" Branch said as Lake smiled and hugged him again as she whispered. "I love you, Branch.".

"Wait, what?" Branch said as Lake gasped and quickly backed up while rubbing her nape and laughing hysterically. "Did I say 'I love you'? I meant I love you as a friend! Yeah...".

They both bit their bottom lips, while looking away from each other and blushing. Then Branch cleared his throat and faced her. "I guess the Snack Pack and Poppy are looking for us... we should head back.".

"Race you there!" She said and ran to Troll Tree. Branch sighed and rolled his eyes as he just walked there. "Boy, is it a long day...".
