On a fine and beautiful day, a carriage was riding along the busy and noisy streets of London.

The streets, paved with cobblestones as Victorian architecture buildings are standing on even side, left and right.
Hearing the cries of street sellers, trying to sell their local goods to anyone that is passing nearby.
Among them are some watercress collectors, or people selling hares rabbit skins for a reasonable price.
Young paper boy are calling out the latest headlines, selling the daily newspapers for anyone to know the latest gossips.
Merry drunkly men are singing happily a random tune, as they wobble up and down the streets, not far away from a latest hangover.
Small children are even playing in the streets together or dancing as beggars were nearby...

*The Aslyum for Female Orphans*
Meanwhile...

Everyone in The Asylum are out and about in the early hours of this morning.
Getting the place ready for today as the rich couple that was mention a day ago are arriving soon.
In every room are being cleaned, from top to bottom, making sure it's perfectly spotless and ready for their arrive.

*Outside*
The horse and carriage arrive outside the walls of The Asylum.

The coachman pulls the brown reins, making the horses come to a complete stop.

Neigh

He climbs off the seat safelty using the step before his shoes step off and onto the ground.
The coachman turns and walk up to the side of the carriage.
He went and open the door, "We are here, Madam Greenway" the coachman informed.
The person slowly sat up and carefully got out of the carriage, onto the steps with help from the coachman
Then the woman shoes touch the ground as she went and look up at the walls surrounded, at the sign on there.

The Asylum For Female Orphans

The woman turned and walk up to the double gates as the couch man just stood there, waiting for his master to finish her visit.
She place her hand on the gate and pushes it open, allowing herself to enter the grounds of The Asylum.

*Inside: Foyer*
Knock...Knock...

"I'm coming, I'm coming..." a nun call out as she wonders over to the door.
The Sister went and slowly open the door, seeing a woman standing there.
"Good morning, can I helped you?" the Sister asked.
"Good morning to you too. I am Mrs Greenway, Mother Superior is excepted me" the woman stated.
"Of course, Mrs Greenway. Follow me" the Sister replied and step aside, allowing the woman to entered inside the building.

Door Close

*Office*
Mother Superior's sitting down behind a desk, filling out important paperwork when...

Knock...Knock...

"Come in" Mother Superior called.

Door Open

Mother Superior looked up to see one of the sisters standing there.
"I have Mrs Greenway here to see you, Mother Superior" she informs her and the woman nods her head, giving the sister a signal to let her in.
The Sister step aside, allowing Mrs Greenway to entered the office.
"Ah, Mrs Greenway. It's very good to see that you have arrived" Mother Superior said.
"You too, Mother Superior" Mrs Greenway tells her back as she walked up to the desk and takes a seat down on the chair.
"Do you need me for any thing else, Mother Superior?" the Sister asked, wanting to know if she can be useful.
"Would you make us some tea, Sister?" Mother Superior requested.

Door Close

"I was under the pressure that a couple would be visiting" Mother Superior stated.
"That was the ordinary plan. But unfortunately my husband have other important matter to attend to. So I came alone instead in his place. I hope you do not mind" Mrs Greenway explained.
"Not at all, Mrs Greenway" Mother Superior replied with a fake smile her face.
Trying not to show this woman her true expression, the disappointment and annoyed.

*Bedroom*

"This is one of the orphans bedroom" Madam Superior stated as she lead Mrs Greenway into the room.

*Imagine that the small girls are standing in a line*

The girls are standing firmly in a line in complete silence, "Mrs Greenway. These are some of the girls in the age range you ask for" Mother Superior said.
"Orphans, this is Mrs Greenway, our guest for today. Say hello to her, children" she demanded.
"Good morning, Mrs Greenway" all of the girls greeted her in a polite tone.
The woman went and start to walk down the line, taking a look at every one of the girls.

But then after a moment or two down the line....

"Mother Superior, who is this beautiful girl?" Mrs Greenway asked, gesture to the girl she is standing in front of.
The older woman went and took one look at the girl, at who Mrs Greenway was returning to referring to.
But she stop and grimace for a moment, knowing which of the girls the woman become interesting in.
Mother Superior quickly change her expression into a smile, so that the woman beside her would not noticed.
"This is Anna, Mrs Greenway" Mother Superior informs her as the other woman was staring at the girl in silence.
"But unfortunately, she is a very badly behaviour and naughty child, ma'am" she stated, basically bad mouthing the child.
Trying to put Anna in a bad light, so that this woman would have the wrong impression of her.
Mrs Greenway carefully went and kneel down to the girl level, so that she does not cress her clothes she was wearing.
"She might not be the one you are looking for. So I suggest for you to choose another girl, perhaps?" Mother Superior suggested.
Mrs Greenway turn and look back at the older woman, "That will do, Mother Superior" she tells her.
Causing her to shut up instantly and once she knew that Mother Superior would stay silence, the woman look back at the girl.
"Hello Anna" Mrs Greenway greeted in a friendly and caring tone, not wanting to frighten her.
Anna look up at Mother Superior, just behind the woman gave a death glare at the girl.
Causing her to quickly and nervously answer the woman with a stutter, "H-Hello"
"I'm Mrs Greenway. Wow...what a lovely dress you are wearing" the woman said with a smile on her face.
"Thank you" said Anna as she look down at her shoes, sheepishly.
The girl never have someone giving her a compliment before, other than Sister Alice.
"Well, Anna. I came to this place because me and my husband are looking for a child to adopt. And I was wondering, if you like to be adopted?" Mrs Greenway explain to the girl.
Wanting to know if she would like to be adopted and come home with her.
"Oh, yes please" Anna replied with a smile, eyes light up happiness and excitement.

*Office*
"I am sorry Mrs Greenway..."

"...but you can't have Anna. You can have any other orphan in the whole asylum, except Anna" she tells her as Mother Superior sat behind her desk.
Causing the other woman to become confuse, "But Anna looks like a perfectly normal and healthy child" said Mrs Greenway.
Who was sitting across from her, wondering what the Mother Superior was on about.
"She got to learn her place here, Mrs Greenway. That child is irresponsible and does cause trouble for a lot of people here. Like she is possessed" Mother Superior stated.
"Pray on the lord and her soul" she said before Mother Superior continue to talk to Mrs Greenway.
"Not a suprise since she was bought here at a young age, not knowing anything. Not knowing the different between right and young, not having manner for example" she continue to explain to her, that it a very bad idea to adopt Anna.
"But I promise you. This child is in a safe place, Mrs Greenway. She will get better in time with strict teaches and hard work, the girl will be ready for adoption. But not right now" Mother Superior told the woman.
"Mother Superior, I think I may myself perfectly clear why I am here. Didn't I?" Mrs Greenway asked.
"Yes you did, ma'am. But..." Mother Superior tried to say, but was cut off by her.
"But nothing. It is my decision on who we adopt here, not yours" Mrs Greenway stated, reminding the other woman that she had the final say.
"I really appreciate you giving me some advise, but I already made my final decision on this. Nothing going to change that" she announced.

Mother Superior knew at that very moment, that the sound of checkmate has been finally declared.
Putting the final nail in the coffin, knowing that she could not change this woman mind.
Mrs Greenway has the final say in this matter, Mother Superior had fail in persuading her to not to adopt Anna.
There's a famous saying that this woman know; Stubborn as a Mule, that would describe Mrs Greenway...
