It's been a few minutes since we came upstairs, and everyone is still staring each other down while I'm stuck in the middle.

I've been desperately waiting for someone to say something, but this awkward silence has gone on long enough.

"Oh come on! Is it so bad that you've each met someone that's just like you?! You guys are killing me here! You were able to become friends with each other despite your differences! This is your chance to make more friends!"

"No offense Donghyuck, but we didn't ask for this opportunity"

Chenle frowned.

"W-Wait a second! What Lele means is that even though this is the perfect chance to seize this opportunity, it's not that easy with our different kinds! And besides, our kinds don't usually do well in groups.."

Jisung nervously butted in.

"Hmph. Damn right we don't"

Jeno growled.

"W-What hyung means is that in this case, we know what each other's kind is capable of and we just want to protect our own friends!"

Jaemin also nervously butted in.

"...I understand that, but is it so hard to at least try to get to know each other?"

Seeing the sad look on my face must've made them crack, because Jeno and Jaemin finally complied.

"...Fine. My name is Na Jaemin, and I've been a vampire for fourteen years. I was only seven years old when I was turned, and I was turned because a vampire bit me at a New Years Celebration. My friends and I had to use the bathroom before the countdown started, but a vampire attacked us on the way back to the party. Most of them ran away, but one stayed to try and help me. But the vampire still bit me, and I fully turned a couple nights later. My parents kicked me out, and years later I ended up here today"

"...My name is Lee Jeno, and I've been a werewolf for fourteen years. I was also only seven years old when I was turned, and I was turned because a werewolf bit me on a camping trip. I was a Boy Scout back then, and one night I couldn't sleep. So I snuck out of my tent and took a walk to the nearby river. But a werewolf found me and attacked me, and bit me on my shoulder. I went back to camp and rinsed off and disinfected the bite before wrapping it up. I hid it even when I got home but once the next full moon came, I ended up turning completely and my parents and sister found out. They kicked me out, and years later I ended up here today"

They both told their life stories, and I ended up feeling more sorry for them than I already did before.

However, Jisung and Chenle only seemed more uncomfortable after hearing their stories.

"What's wrong? Did they say something wrong??"

I asked them.

"It's not that. I just finding it ridiculous and a really dick move for them to just abandon their own children like that"

Chenle explained.

"It's not just that either. Unlike you guys, our parents weren't able to live as long as yours..."

Jisung added.

"They didn't make it...?"

"You don't have to tell us, but we're a bit curious as to what happened to them.."

Jeno and Jaemin both immediately became concerned for them, forgetting any bad feelings they had about them before.

"We don't mind. When it comes to me, my parents and older brother died by the hands of vampires when I was just a toddler, but I ended up surviving as one"

"...My parents and older brother died by the hands of werewolves when he was a kid, but I ended up surviving as one"

They both explained, both with disturbed looks on their faces.

"So...that must be why your bloodlust is so great and why you look so angry all the time. You'd rather push people away than to feel sad about losing someone else that you care about"

"And that must be why you act so timid around other people Jisung. Because you were so young when you lost your family, you had no one to open up to and you just shut yourself out from the rest of the world"

Now it all makes sense.

They chose being alone to avoid more pain and uncomfortable situations. So they aren't the enemy like Jeno and Jaemin thought before..

"...Chenle, Jisung. We have no problem being here for you guys. Really, it's no problem at all"

"Jaemin's right"

"I agree"

Jeno and I agreed with Jaemin's decision.

"Be here for us...? Give me a break.. I don't want any of you around. You can take your pity and get lost.."

"If that's true Chenle, then why did you smile at me when you saw me last week?"

When Jaemin exposed him, Chenle suddenly became silent.

His macho facade had broken, and he avoided our eyes by staring at the floor.

"...There were actually two reasons I smiled that day. I was happy that I found another vampire so close by, and......I was really happy that you were still alive. We haven't seen each other in a while, and I was worried about you..."

He finally confessed.

"...Jeno-hyung, why didn't you attack me when you saw me last week? Other werewolves that have come across me have attacked me, but...you didn't"

Jisung asked, causing Jeno to become angry.

"Jisung, I would never attack anyone without a good reason. But those assholes... I already knew that they were jerks, but that's going too far.. I'm pissed that they would attack you for no reason like that.."

"See what I mean?? This is why you guys should take this chance to be friends and be there for each other"

I pointed out, and it seemed that Jeno and Jaemin both agreed with me this time.

"Let's make a compromise. If you two don't want to be friends, that's completely fine with us. We won't force you into making that choice. But we should just protect each other and be there if we need each other"

"Sound like a plan you two?"

Chenle and Jisung took a moment to think about it for a second, and then finally agreed to it.

To seal the deal, we all shook hands on it.

I'm really happy that this actually worked out~. Now they won't have to worry about either party hurting each other or plotting to kill each other~.

Not long after the deal was sealed, Mark entered the room bringing news.

"Hey guys. I don't mean to interrupt, but Yukhei-hyung ordered take out and pizza for all of us to eat together. You can all come downstairs when you're ready"

He left shortly after telling us the news.

"Let's go guys~"

"Wait. Before we go, I have a question for each of you"

Chenle suddenly stopped us, confusing all of us.

"...What's your favorite anime right now?"

He asked with a completely serious look, but Jisung just started laughing.

"Baki"

Jeno answered.

"Tokyo Revengers"

Jaemin smiled.

"Mine is Attack on Titan~"

I cheered.

After hearing our answers, Chenle immediately smiled and revealed that his favorite is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, while Jisung's favorite is One Piece.

"It seems like you've all completely passed Lele's vibe check~"

Jisung smiled.

"Now then, let's head downstairs"

The latter insisted leading the way.

As we were going down the stairs, Chenle suddenly confirmed something for all of us with a smile on his face.

"...We can be friends"
