"What do you mean get rid of the cat??"

"That cat gives off the same energy from the zompire I killed a year ago. It's not as menacing, but still!"

Jeno explained.

"Really?? I knew something was different about this one, just like Jaemin was different. But frankly, I don't care if this one is a zompire. Even though I hate them, I have no grudge or ill-will against this cat"

Renjun smiled as he walked inside with the feline.

Despite Jeno's pleas for Renjun to leave it be, he wanted to show the cat the same kindness that he showed them.

"Jeno, it's alright. If it turns out to be a bad zompire like the last one you faced, then I'll help you and Jaemin convince Renjun to set it free"

I reassured him before heading inside as well.

Renjun set the cat on the stairs and introduced himself to it, as well as the rest of us, with a smile on his face.

"Allow me to explain our family dynamic. Jeno here is a werewolf and Jaemin here is a vampire. Mark-hyung and I on the other hand are both human, but even though two of us are a bit different, we're not going to hurt you"

"Unless you try to hurt Renjun-hyung or Mark-hyung"

Jeno suddenly added as a warning.

Even though Renjun seemed a bit bothered by Jeno's remark, he reassured the cat that it could change into its normal form without having to worry about anyone attacking it.

But despite Renjun's efforts, the cat did nothing and just sat there.

"Oh no.. Did I just explain all of that and it couldn't understand me this whole time..??"

Right when Renjun was starting to get nervous, Jaemin suddenly jumped out of Jeno's arms and shifted back to his normal form.

"I don't think the problem is that it can't understand you. It probably doesn't know how to shift back to normal"

"Seriously??? How are we gonna help it now...?"

"...I'll help it. Since the cat is part vampire, I can use a form of telepathy on it that vampires have. I'll help it focus"

Jaemin frowned, seeming to only help out because he hates seeing Renjun upset.

It took a few minutes of Jaemin and the cat just staring at each other, but eventually the cat finally got a grasp on the concept and actually managed to do it.

With a puff of smoke, the cat had finally shifted into a boy surprisingly around our age.

"You... You really did it! Thank you so much~! I haven't been able to change back to normal since after I was attacked!"

He happily thanked us and shook Jaemin's hand out of gratitude.

"Hold on. Just when were you attacked??"

Jeno suddenly asked.

"It was around a year ago, specifically at night"

"That sounds kinda similar to around the time Renjun-hyung was attacked..."

Jaemin added.

"Huh?? But how can you still be completely normal if you were attacked by the same monster that attacked me???"

"Well... It's not really much to explain, but I'll tell you the story later"

"For the time being, I'm sure we all wanna know something. Renjun already introduced all of us to you, but what's your name?

I politely asked, and he immediately responded.

"I'm Lee Donghyuck~. It's a pleasure to meet all of you~"
