As soon as midnight hit, the plan went into action.

Taeyong informed everyone to meet up at the convenience store after sunrise, since his team's attack spot would be close by the store.

He teleported everyone close to their designated attack spots, and they all went to work. Chenle and Jaemin used their enhanced vision to find and kill zompires stealthy.

They spent a few hours doing so, and eventually decided to take a break.

The two vampires sat in a tree together, resting and keeping a look out for any danger. And after a while, one of them finally spotted something.

"Hey hyung, I see another zompire nearby.  But it's attacking a lost couple"

"Let's not waste any time then. Lead the way"

The two jumped down from the tree and quietly made their way to the couple by floating off the ground.

"I'll keep them safe, you take care of the zompire"

"Right"

Chenle sprung into action, swooping in to save the couple from the zompire's attack.

Jaemin came in right after, and killed the zompire in one shot. Unlike the last time, they both got to study zompire anatomy beforehand, and knew exactly where its heart would be.

After making sure it was dead, he approached Chenle and the couple.

"You're safe now. We'll escort you to town on the safest route possible"

But when the couple and Jaemin looked at each other, his eyes widened with disbelief.

"Mom and dad... No way..."

Jaemin realized that the couple was actually his parents, and they knew right away that he was their son.

Despite both them going in for a hug, Jaemin quickly retreated and stepped back, remembering the events of the night they abandoned him.

"That's right... You did abandon him.. Why would you abandon him when he needed you the most?"

Chenle confronted them on the matter.

"We truly do feel guilty for kicking you out Jaemin, and we're really sorry for what we've done..."

"But we're really happy to see that you're still alive"

"...Happy? Why would you be happy...? After all of those names you called me before tossing me into the woods, you were only concerned about protecting yourselves than helping your only child"

Jaemin frowned, becoming upset with them.

"You wouldn't be feeling this way in the first place if you'd just helped me. I went through hell, for years. I even ended up killing someone because you left me alone... But...then again, I did manage to make some lifelong friends that care for me and love me in the end. So, in a way, I should thank you for abandoning me. If you hadn't, I might not have met them"

After Jaemin's explanation, his parents fell silent, not wanting to upset the boy further.

"...We should get moving to a safer location in town. It's not safe to stay out in the open when it's still dark"

Chenle awkwardly led the way, and the other three complied and followed him.

Eventually, Jaemin handed his parents his phone, confusing them a bit.

"...Put in your numbers and address"

"Huh..??"

"But..."

"Look, I'm willing to make things right. I want to be able to protect you now that I'm older and more powerful. I'll check on you from time to time, and you can contact me whenever you need help"

His parents looked really happy to hear this and put in their information, and Jaemin put his information into their phones as well.

Afterwards, he quietly walked beside Chenle while they followed behind the two.

"You did the right thing hyung. You'll be able to get your family back"

Chenle smiled and comforted the older as they made their way to town.
