"You must be Mark's friend Johnny. I'm Wong Yukhei. If you'd like to sit down for a second, we can explain everything. We promise that we have no intentions of hurting you"

Yukhei seemed to be the only one that was calm in the moment.

As he was talking to me, he even closed the blinds and turned on a few lights to light up the room.

"Would you like anything to drink, or are you good for now?"

He kindly asked me.

Everyone told me each of their stories, and I think I'm finally starting to get comfortable around them again.

So, Jisung is a turned werewolf and Chenle is a turned vampire. They both lost their families and were turned when they were very young. Yukhei is a clairvoyant and he takes care of Chenle and Jisung.

That's one household covered.

As for this one, Jeno is a turned werewolf and Jaemin is a turned vampire. They were both turned at a young age and were abandoned by their families. When they were still young, they unwillingly killed Renjun's parents and left him without a family as well.

Renjun took them in, and after they went through a rough time, Mark moved in with them after finding out their secret, and they've been together ever since. And just recently Renjun found out that he's a clairvoyant like Yukhei. Additionally, Donghyuck is a turned zompire and Renjun recently took him in.

And finally, Taeyong is a demon that came to Earth seeking a better life where he could be a normal person. And just like me, Mark knew nothing about his true origins until today.

And the reason why Mark couldn't come to work wasn't because he caught a cold. It's because they were attacked by a zompire just last night, and he got hurt trying to help fend it off.

Now that I know everything, none of this surprises me anymore and it all actually makes sense. So this is what Mark was talking about when he was upset about being the only human out of his friends...

"...This is all so surreal man. But there's one thing I don't get. Why is everyone in town so mad at you guys???"

"Actually... Most of them were looking at me like I did something wrong. But I was here all day yesterday. The only time I went outside was to help Jaemin and Chenle in the woods"

Donghyuck explained.

"Wait... That must be what all the commotion was about! Yesterday, Renjun said that the zompire Hyuck killed wasn't the only one in town! That means that what happened here wasn't the only attack that happened last night!"

"So that means what happened in town last night must've been caused by other zompires.."

"I see... That means that everyone that was attacked must've confused Donghyuck for the zompires that attacked them last night"

Yukhei, Jisung, and Taeyong quickly put the puzzle pieces together and solved the mystery of what happened.

But now, Donghyuck looks really upset.

"...This is all my fault. I-I'm so sorry.. I put all of us in danger... I should've just s-stayed in the house today..."

Donghyuck suddenly burst into tears and stared apologizing, but it's not his fault at all.

"Donghyuck, none of you could've known that this would happen. You're not the one at fault here, and as far as I'm concerned, you never will be"

I tried to comfort him, but he still tried to insist that it was his fault.

Jeno suddenly went to the fridge and grabbed a small carton or banana milk before coming right back. He opened it and just stuck the straw in his mouth to keep him quiet.

"Drink this. Stop spouting nonsense. This isn't your fault Hyuck, so stop trying to make it seem like it is"

He lightly scolded him and wiped away his tears, and once he started drinking the milk, he actually calmed down fairly quickly.

"Johnny-hyung, you're not gonna turn us in are you...?"

Mark suddenly asked me with a worried look on his face.

Before I answered him, I just walked over to him and flicked him on his forehead.

"Mark, how long have we known each other? You should know just as much as anyone else we know that my friends' secrets will always be safe with me"

"...I'm really sorry for keeping all of this from you hyung"

"I'm sorry too... I just wanted to protect all of you.."

Mark and Taeyong both apologized for keeping their second lives a secret from me.

It's true that we've been close friends for years, but I'm not mad at all. Friends don't have to tell each other everything, especially if it's something this dangerous and serious.

"Listen, I don't care about any of that. I'm just glad that you're both alright. But what I want to know is how we're gonna get out of this situation. I warded off the angry mob, but I fear that they'll eventually circle back here"

"No need to worry~. When it comes to that, I have a plan~"

"What do you have in mind Yong?"
