Renjun called me prematurely and told me he was coming down to the library, but he sounded a bit upset when I talked to him.

And when he showed up, he looked almost as disturbed as he sounded. Not only that, but there were two other people with him that I've never seen before.

"What's up Renjun? Hey, I don't think I've seen you two around before. Are you some of the friends Mark mentioned to me before?"

"Yes sir. I'm Lee Donghyuck"

"And I'm Park Jisung. It's a pleasure to meet you"

"Oh please~. There's no need to be so formal~. I'm Johnny Seo, but you can both just refer to me as hyung~. But what seems to be the problem??"

"We're sorry to be bearer's of bad news hyung, but Mark-hyung has fallen ill and won't be able to come in for a few days because of a very bad cold. We're really sorry for the inconvenience"

He explained.

So that's why he looks so upset...

"Ah shoot, don't worry about any of that. I'll tell our boss about this, so you guys just focus on taking care of him and making sure he gets better"

"Thank you very much!"

Donghyuck and Jisung both politely thanked me, bringing a smile to my face.

"We'll do our best hyung. See you soon"

"See you soon~"

They left the library and ventured off to carry out any other matters they had to attend to.

But as they were leaving, I noticed that other people were following them. They don't look like they mean well either.

I wrote a little note for the boss and clocked out before leaving the library. I secretly followed the growing crowd, and saw how they were waiting outside of the local convenience store where Taeyong works.

If the crowd really is following them, then they must be waiting for them to come out to confront them.

And just like I suspected, when they came out of the store, the crowd started chasing them not long after. I kept a low profile and followed behind the people from a distance, just to be on the safe side.

Because I was so behind, I saw how a random door just suddenly appeared on the side wall of the store. I also saw when Taeyong came out of it, but there's no way he could've done something like that.

A few seconds later, he, Renjun, Jisung, and Donghyuck went through the door, but then it just disappeared after they went through it!

I hid behind a car when the crowd came around the building, just so they wouldn't find me suspicious. They tried their hardest to find where they went, but they eventually ran off to find them elsewhere.

I waited a few minutes for something to happen, and I saw when they finally left through the front door of the store and ran towards the direction of Mark's and Renjun's place.

I continued to follow them from a distance, and listened attentively when Renjun called someone to open their front door. Did he call more of the friends that they met before?

Once they reached the house, Taeyong opened the door first and made sure they were all inside before he quickly shut it.

But even though they were already inside, I heard another door open and close. That sounded like their back door, but why would they leave when they finally got to safety?

They couldn't have gotten everyone in the house out that fast either, especially if Mark is sick. They must've done that to make it seem like they left.

But to make matters worse, I didn't realize that most of the people from the crowd had followed me to their house.

"I heard their back door close! They're most likely making their escape through the woods!"

I misinformed them.

Most of the people thanked me for the help, and they ran around the corner to get to the woods.

Once I made sure that they were really gone, I walked up to the porch and quietly listened for anything inside. Just as I suspected, they were all definitely still inside.

I knew that they were smart enough to lock the door back, so I used a spare paper clip I had saved in my pocket to pick the lock. It's not like I planned on breaking and entering into anyone's home. I just always have a spare paper clip handy for paperwork that I might have at the library.

Just seconds later, the door unlocked and  I entered the home, making sure to quietly close the door behind me and lock it again.

"Hey Renjun? Do you have any idea of what's going on?? Everyone in town looks like they want to kill you guys"

As soon as I asked that, I was met with a sight that I wasn't prepared to see.

Jaemin was sitting on the ceiling but fell off once he saw me, Jeno had wolf-like ears and a tail, Jisung had ears similar to Jeno's, another boy had these weird red eyes, Taeyong's eyes were black and orange and he had weird marks on his face, and Mark was laying on the couch with bandage wraps across his torso.

The only ones that seem normal or otherwise fine in the room are Renjun, Donghyuck, and another guy around my height.

If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing, almost everyone in this room are monsters..

"You've gotta be fucking kidding me..."
