The Next Day

I'm out today with Hyuck and Jisung to meet up with Johnny at the library.

Since there's no way that Mark can make it to work right now, I saw it fit that we be the ones to tell him.

Almost immediately after we entered the library, Johnny came running over to us.

"What's up Renjun? Hey, I don't think I've seen you two around before. Are you some of the friends Mark mentioned to me before?"

"Yes sir. I'm Lee Donghyuck"

"And I'm Park Jisung. It's a pleasure to meet you"

"Oh please~. There's no need to be so formal~. I'm Johnny Seo, but you can both just refer to me as hyung~. But what seems to be the problem??"

"We're sorry to be bearer's of bad news hyung, but Mark-hyung has fallen ill and won't be able to come in for a few days because of a very bad cold. We're really sorry for the inconvenience"

I explained.

"Ah shoot, don't worry about any of that. I'll tell our boss about this, so you guys just focus on taking care of him and making sure he gets better"

"Thank you very much!"

Donghyuck and Jisung both politely thanked him, bringing a smile to Johnny's face.

"We'll do our best hyung. See you soon"

"See you soon~"

We left the library on good terms, and made our way to the convenience store next.

We need to pick up some things since it seems that we're having company for a while.

But on the way to there, we noticed that a bunch of the buildings and things in general around town were either destroyed or looked like they had taken a hit.

"How could so much damage have happened overnight??? There hasn't even been a storm"

Jisung was examining the state of everything around us, until we both noticed how uncomfortable Donghyuck looked.

"What's wrong Hyuck??"

"There's a lot of people staring at me.. I don't like it..."

I saw that the people were staring at something, but I didn't know it was him that they were staring at.

Thankfully though, we finally made it to the convenience store and quickly scurried inside. Once inside, we immediately started searching for antiseptics, different things to cook, things to drink, and a few requests from the others.

"Hey guys. I can help you find everything you're looking for if you want. You seem to be in a hurry"

Taeyong offered to help us, and we let him do so no questions asked.

He refrained from asking any questions and helped us to the best of his ability, noticing the overcast weather and the storm clouds that slowly started rolling in.

Thanks to his help, we finished in no time and quickly took our items to the counter. But while he was ringing us up, we noticed that many people were giving us side glares, especially Donghyuck.

As he handed us our bags, he leaned down to whisper something to us.

"Once you guys get outside, I want you to meet me around the back of the store"

"We don't understand what they seem to be so mad at us for hyung.."

"Don't worry, I'll help you. Meet me behind the store for your safety. It's just a precaution in case they try something. I'll be waiting"

He handed me our last bag, we left the store, and walked in the direction for home.

Taeyong was right to suspect that they would try something, because a bunch of people were following us now. Jisung turned back a little to see how bad it was, and he looked very disturbed once he turned around.

"It's really bad Ji?"

"Some of them have weapons hyung.."

"Right... Hold on"

I took my phone out of my pocket and called Yukhei.

Thankfully, he picked up almost immediately. I asked him to lock all of the doors and windows until we got back, and then hung up.

As soon as we got to the street corner, we started running right when we turned the corner. We quickly ran to turn the next corner and we found Taeyong behind the store like he said he would be.

We ran as fast as we could to reach him and once we did, he quickly opened a door on the side of the store. But I don't recall this door being here before?? I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, and I've never seen this door. And to make things even weirder, the door disappeared once we were inside.

We all stood together quietly while Taeyong listened closely for the people to go away. But to make things even more bizarre than they already were, while we were standing together, I noticed Taeyong's eyes had changed and how he had new marks on his face!

I didn't say anything while we were still waiting to be in the clear, so I just waited until we were finally safe.

"...Alright. They're finally gone.. I'll help you guys get home once they clear out of the surrounding area"

"Thanks for the help... But I gotta know something now hyung. It's clear that you aren't human like we all assumed, so what exactly are you?"

He looked surprised for a seconds, but he soon realized what I was talking about and gave me a nervous smile.

"I'm sorry that I kept this a secret, but it was for the safety of myself and others... I'm...actually a demon..~"
