"What's going on Lele?"

"Nothing anymore. Donghyuck-hyung just woke up, but only to close the blinds. He just went back to sleep"

Chenle and I have been up all night.

We've actually been doing this ever since we met the others. Instead of sleeping, Chenle watches their every move through our window since his eyes are better.

Even though I can't help with the task, I still stay up with him. I'll play games, watch tv, or bring us refreshments while we do our own thing.

But my favorite part is seeing how invested he is when watching them. His eyes are always so pretty when he watches them, and his voice is so relaxing to listen to as well.

In the end, this works out for both of us. We both find entertainment out of it, and we don't really like to sleep until morning anyway.

"Hey Lele. Why do you think they're being so nice to Donghyuck-hyung, considering he's a zompire and all?"

I asked him, as he closed the blinds.

"I overheard what Renjun-hyung said about him when they came over. They took pity on him because in the end, most of us are the same. We got turned by monsters and ended up becoming those same monsters, we lost our families, we had no where to go, and above all, we were all scared and found refuge in each other. That's why they protect him, even though he's a zompire. And from what I've seen while watching them, Donghyuck-hyung really is like us"

"I see. But I'm still concerned as to what might happen if we come across another zompire in the future"

"He's our friend now, despite what he is. When and if that happens, we'll just have to protect him. That's the promise we made when we all shook on it, to protect each other no matter what"

"Right, no matter what~"

I cheered and he smiled.

"Oh, good morning you two~. I'm glad you're both awake. I have some news"

Yukhei walked into our room to greet us and inform us of what he has planned.

"I want to take everyone out to a fun walk in the city this evening. What do you guys think~?"

"I'll pass. I want to stay home and watch the house"

"I'll go hyung~"

This sounds like a really fun adventure~.

"Very well then~. You can stay home Chenle, and you can be ready by around seven Jisung~. Oh! And I'm about to make breakfast, so you two can come down whenever you're ready~"

He smiled before leaving the room to head downstairs.

"Why do you wanna stay home Lele? I think it's gonna be fun"

"Believe me, I know how fun it could be. But I don't really feel like going out tonight, and all of the people in the city make me uncomfortable. And I also want to keep watch here for the night"

"Do you think something will happen tonight?"

"I'm not really sure. I'm just going off of a hunch here"

"Do you want me to stay instead of going out tonight?"

"Oh no. You can and should go. I know how excited you are to go anyway. Your tail is still wagging and everything"

Chenle pointed out with a smile.

"O-Oh, right.."

I quickly held onto it to make it stop swaying, embarrassed by how I didn't notice it earlier.

Chenle got down from the window ledge, and led me downstairs while holding my hand.

"...Hey Lele?"

"Yeah Ji?"

He stopped and looked at me before we made it to the kitchen, giving me his full attention.

"...You're a good friend"
