Dally's POV:

Glade left me alone with our two babbling mentors. By 'babbling' I mean them telling me all about their experiences in the Games as if they have no clue it was only six years ago. I remember that year. Who doesn't? I was eleven. That particular year, was Darry's first reaping and Two Bit thought it would be funny to tease Darry that Darry would get picked. Needless to say, Two Bit got his ass whooped that afternoon. And then the next year, when it was Teo Bit and mine's first reaping, Darry and Steve got back at Two Nit and so started that sick tradition. A tradition that lasted until the Curtis' parents died a few months ago. So yeah, we didn't do that to Ponyboy, Seeing as losing another family member is Darry's biggest fear.

As much as my mentors annoyed the shit out of me, I was glad to have mentors who actually care. who at least tried to prepare me for what was to come.
