Chapter 3
"I'm going to go get something to drink and a candy bar. Ya'll want anything?" Avi ask as he opens the car door. His two friends shakes their heads no.
He meets Tim on the way out and gives him a smile. Tim gives him a wink and a slight nod in the direction of the garage.
Tim walks out to the car wiping his hand on the towel he has stuck in his back pocket.
He walks up to the driver's side window. "What can I do for ya?" He ask politely.
"Uh, maybe some gas." Mitch says in a smart manner.
Tim fakes a smile and grabs the nozzle from the pump.
"Oh, And I would appreciate it if you didn't get that nasty grease on my car." Mitch calls to him.
"Oh Heaven forbid. I wouldn't think of it." Tim says sarcastically. "Asshole." He mumbles to himself.
"And would you be so kind to wash my windshield. It has bird poop on it." Mitch says with a smirk and Kirstie giggles.
Tim rolls his eyes and reaches down for the windshield scrubber. He washes the driver's side trying to ignore the jerk inside staring at him.
He then moves to the passenger side. His eyes meeting the beautiful blonde's that was staring at him. He gives her a friendly smile.
"Oooo, I think the grease monkey is actually checking you out, Sis." Mitch whispers.
"Really?" Kirstie ask, already noticing that the man's eyes would leave the window from time to time to look at her.
"Yuck." Mitch says in disgust. "Watch this."
He turns on the windshield wipers.
Tim had glanced back in at the blond and didn't notice the wiper until it hit his hand, skinning his knuckle.
"OWWW! SON OF A...!!!" Tim yells, grabbing his hand and dropping the scrubber on the pavement.
"Oops, Sorry." Mitch says sarcastically. "Wrong button. You know these new Mercedes. Can't figure out all these buttons and switches." Giving a fake giggle.
Tim looks down at his bleeding knuckle then gives the blond one last glance before going back over to the pump. He grabs a couple of paper towels to wrap up his finger.
He tells Mitch the price and Mitch hands him a credit card.
Tim mumbles cuss words as he walks into the station and hands Rob the card to pay for the gas.
He goes to the door leading to the garage and looks in, seeing Adam and Avi kissing sweetly in the corner out of sight.
He clears his throat loudly getting their attention. Holding up his hand, showing them the bloody paper towel around his finger.
"Just in case you didn't know, Avi. Your friends are bitches." Tim turns on his heels to go get the credit card from Rob.
Avi bites his bottom lip and looks up at Adam. "I kind of already knew that."
"That punk better be glad I need my job. Or I'd be stumping his scrawny ass right about now." Tim tells Rob as he snatches the card.
"Just calm down, Tim." Rob says. "He probably didn't mean to."
"Like Hell he didn't." Tim growls.
Avi grabs himself a drink and a snack and quickly heads out to the car before his friends get suspicious.
"What took you so long?" Kirstie ask looking between the seats at him.
"Oh, I, uh, had to use the bathroom." Avi smiles.
"Ewwww." Mitch says. "In that nasty place."
"It was clean." Avi says as Tim walks up to Mitch's window, clearly wearing a fake smile.
He hands the card and receipt to Mitch.
He leans over and shoots a glance and a small smile at the blond in the passenger seat then connects eyes with the driver. His smile fades.
"Oh and uh, you really should read the owners manual before you get behind the wheel of a vehicle that you don't even know how to drive." He gives a very fake grin. "You have a nice day."
Mitch's mouth opens in shock as the man walks away from the car. Kirstie bites her bottom lip as she was sure she heard Avi snickering in the back seat.
"How rude." Mitch finally manages to say.
"What did ya'll do?" Avi ask.
"It wasn't me." Kirstie quickly answers. "Mitch turn the windshield wipers on while the guy was cleaning the windshield. Which was kind of mean."
"You could have broke his finger or jammed it." Avi says.
"Oh, I'm sure they have free clinics they can go to." Mitch says as he starts the car.
"You know what? I need to go home." Avi says as he can feel his temper beginning to rise.
"Are you sure?" Kirstie ask looking back at him noticing his change of mood.
"Yea, I have a few things to do before my date tonight." Avi says, shooting her a quick glance.
Tim walks back into the garage area where Adam was getting things ready for their next customer.
"You know, I fully understand now." Tim says as he puts a large band aid that Rob had given him on his finger.
"Understand what?" Adam ask, looking up from what he was doing.
"I clearly understand why Avi is doing what he's doing." Tim says as he throws the band aid wrapper in the garbage. "Truthfully, at first I thought maybe he was embarrassed with ya'll's relationship."
"And just what do you mean by that?" Adam says as he crosses his arms across his chest, staring at his friend.
"Well, by keeping your relationship a secret. But now I know he's doing it to protect you." Tim says looking up and meeting Adam's blue eyes.
"Protect me? Tim, what in the hell are you talking about?" He ask in an irritated tone.
"Oh, will you just chill." Tim says noticing his friend's tone. "Avi knows that if those two high polluting friends of his knew he was dating you? No telling what they would say about you. Especially the guy."
"You're right." Adam says nodding his head. "But Avi isn't like them at all, Tim"
"Oh, I know that. Avi is hanging with the wrong crowd." Tim says. "Who are they anyway?"
"I think he said their names where Mitch and Kirstie." Adam answers.
"Kirstie." Tim mumbles to himself, smiling slightly as he could still imagine her beautiful eyes.
"Yea, Kirstie." Adam smirking knowingly at his friend.
