Chapter 2
Kirstie rolls over, wrapped in her satin sheets and groans as her phone begins to ring. Looking at the time, it was 10:00 a.m. Who could be calling this early?
"Hello?" She answers softly.
"Girlfriend? You had better get up and get ready right now." Her friend Mitch orders from the other end. "I will be at your place in an hour then we'll go pick Avi up for a girls day out. Now get your lazy butt up and get dressed. NOW!" Then the call ends.
She really loved Mitch but he could be such a bitch at times. Mitch, Avi and herself has been friends since they were kids when they attended a private school together. Their parents wanted only the best schooling and insisted the public schools were only for the lower class of students.
It was hard but she manages to be ready when Mitch rings the door bell exactly an hour later. He had colored his hair blond and was wearing all white.
"Well, don't you look ravishing." Kirstie giggles.
"As always." Mitch smirks as they head out to his car.
When they arrive at Avi's house, he comes out wearing black jeans, a black and gray plaid shirt and a gray beanie.
"Couldn't you have at least dressed up a bit?" Mitch said as he rolls his eyes.
"And what's wrong with what I'm wearing? It's a brand new shirt." Avi says as he gets into the back seat.
"You're getting really weird, Avi." Kirstie said as she shakes her head.
She loved Avi, too. But for the last few weeks, he had been acting really strange. He has a new boyfriend but won't tell them anything about him. Only that he is tall, handsome, has beautiful blue eyes and very sexy.
Kirstie has not dated anyone since her and her boyfriend Jeremy broke up 6 months ago. No one even came close to meeting her standards. She was beginning to think maybe she had set her standards just a little high but Mitch insists that only a king deserves a queen like her.
First stop was to eat breakfast. A total disaster. Mitch and Kirstie complains about everything they had ordered. The eggs wasn't fixed the way they had ordered them, the coffee was too cold. Nothing the poor waitress tries to do would satisfy them.
Avi sat by the window clearly embarrassed by the way his friends were acting.
"Just can't find good servants these days." Kirstie says as she throws down her bacon. "This bacon is way too hard."
"I want to speak with the manager." Mitch says loudly.
"Guys, let's just go. Please." Avi says in a low voice.
After complaining to the manager, leaving the poor little waitress in tears and getting a free meal. Mitch and Kirstie walks out of the restaurant very proud of themselves.
On the other hand, Avi slips the little waitress a $100 tip and apologizes for the cruel actions of his friends.
The rest of the day they spend at the shopping mall, buying clothes that they really didn't need.
"Girls, momma needs to have something done to these nails. So I think we need manicures, don't you." Mitch says as he examines his nails.
"Oooo, yes. That sounds fun." Kirstie giggles.
"Well, ya'll have fun. You'll find me waiting over in the waiting area." Avi says, rolling his eyes. He sits down pulling out his phone and smiles as he begins to text his boyfriend.
"Scott and I are going to the club tonight. Wanna come?" Mitch ask watching his manicurist.
"No, I'm thinking bubble bath, fuzzy robe, take out and some good romantic movies." Kirstie sighs.
"Sounds so meh, what about you Avriel?" Mitch ask.
"No, I got plans." Avi says trying to hide his smile.
"So when are we going to get to meet this mysterious prince?" Kirstie ask, raising her brows.
"Some day." Avi smiles looking back down at his phone.
After the manicure they head back out to the car.
"Where to next?" Kirstie ask as she fastens her seat belt, being careful not to damage her new nails.
"Service station, cause the queen don't want to have to walk." Mitch chuckles.
"Uh, there's a full service station just up the road. That way the queen don't have to pump his own gas." Avi suggests as he bites his bottom lip.
"Really? That's my type of gas station." Mitch says as he checks his hair in the mirror.
"One with servants." Kirstie laughs and gives Mitch a high five.
Avi rolls his eyes, shaking his head he gives a low growl and looks out the window.
As they pull into the gas station a bell rings signalling a customer.
"Oh boysssss." Mitch calls while straightening his clothes.
~~
"Hey guys? Can one of ya'll get that? I'm on the phone." Rob calls to his two mechanics.
Tim and Adam looks at each other, holds out their hands and plays 'Rock, paper, scissors'.
Tim goes with paper and Adam goes with scissors.
Adam chuckles. "You lose."
