WAS IT POSSIBLE THAT I WAS THE MONSTER IN MY MEMORIES? I did not know. But there was only one way to find out.

"Do you know anything about Gray Wolves?"

Martyn froze completely and his expression darkened significantly. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted his fingers clenching into a tight fist.

"What do you mean?" he grated out, astonishing me with his rapid mood change. "Gray Wolf? What's that supposed to mean?"

"Isn't it a species of Werewolf that-"

"No, there's no such thing," his voice loudened. "Who told you that?"

"I..."

"WHO THE BLOODY HELL TOLD YOU THAT?"

My eyes widened with blatant terror and I shrank back in my seat, shaking. Martyn's eyes had become pitch black and was flooding with wrath. I tried to open my mouth to reply to him but I was dumbstruck with fear.

"Martyn," a familiar voice growled menacingly. I turned to see Liam glaring at his best friend with fury that majorly overpowered his. If looks could kill, he would have been six feet under. "Don't you dare," he hissed.

"What's going on?" I whispered barely audible.

Liam stood before me, his grey eyes clouded with smoke and jaws clenched with anger. His face was contorted with pain and his hands grasped on the table's edge, the pressure of his finger indenting into the metal surface.

"The Alpha has spoken." His words meant nothing to me, but by the way Martyn's expression was replaced with dread, it was clear that it was important to him. "She is now his."

"That doesn't make any-"

"She broke a promise to him, about half an hour ago," Liam explained, closing his eyes with what could only be described as remorse.

"For the love of Luna, I did what?" I demanded.

"You gave your word to the Alpha." Martyn explained.

"What does that mean?"

"An Alpha is a leader," Martyn explained. "We do as he says, no matter what it is."

"Who is the Alpha?"

"I-I can't s-say," he trembled. "I'm n-not strong enough t-to..."

"West Grayson," Liam breathed. "He is the Alpha of the Luna Pack."

"But what does he have to do with me?" By Luna...

"You promised you would allow him to protect you," Liam continued. "That you would do as he says in order for that to happen but you dismissed it. He now has claim over you."

"That doesn't make any sense," I replied. "I don't even know him."

"You're a Gray Wolf," Liam stated. "So is he. You broke your word and now-" Suddenly it all clicked.

"Does that mean that you're a-" He was a werewolf?

"Weslyn," he interrupted. "It's now my order to take you to him."

"I don't want to," I told him.

"I know," his fingers slid around my wrist with an iron grip. "But you no longer have a choice. You will follow me without a sound, if you make any sound," he painfully closed his eyes. "My orders are to murder everyone in the cafeteria."

He heaved me off the seat and I let him lead me outside the cafeteria without any resistance. Outside in the deserted corridor, stood West Grayson.

I immediately shrank back at the sight of him, the pain resurfacing, crushing my skull with devastating pressure.

"Liam," I begged. "Please, Liam. Don't do this to me."

I may have had no idea of what West wanted from me, but whatever it was, I just sensed it wasn't to protect me.

"Well, that's adorable," West drawled.

"What?" I snapped.

"The fact that you think William can save you from me is adorable." Ignoring him, I clutched onto Liam's arm and silently pleaded him.

"I'm sorry, Lyn," he murmured. "I can't do anything."

"Exactly," West smirked. "Your friend can't do anything to save you. It's all on me."

"What did I ever do to you?" I demanded. "Why are you taking me?"

"If it was something that you had done, Wes," he responded. "It wouldn't be this complicated."

My vision blurred at his words. Through my hazy surroundings, I could barely see Liam mouthing three words.

"I'm sorry, Lyn."

He was the last thing I saw before darkness engulfed me completely.

"If it was something that you had done," West repeated, his voice only a distant echo in my ears. "Your death would be much less painful."
