Bird Cipher

(A/N:This was brought to my attention by @JesseAileen and I just thought that I should make a one-shot about it. Please, check out her book! It shows a video made by Valiskabum who collected conclusive evidence about this very theory! THANKS, JESSE!)

(A/N: FYI, one of my favorite animals has been a bird for the longest time. I loved the intelligence, beauty, and grace of the creatures. I'M CONVINCED THAT IT WAS MEANT TO BE!!!! OvO)

The forest was still. Silence reigned once more now that the tyrant demon was dead, or so the world thought.

A statue, buried halfway in the dirt and grass of the Gravity Falls forest, sat still. It's hand was stretched out as if awaiting a handshake, the pyramid was the former physical body of the very tyrant that the town had acknowledged as deceased.

As the wildlife returned around it, moss building up on the statue's hat, it seemed to sit still, the only thing in the forest left unchanged. One fateful day, a small  meadowlark decided to perch apon the hand, preening its delicate feathers with its small, pointed beak. Suddenly, he stopped, eyes slowly drooping, and seemed to stand still.

He was not dead but, seemed to have just awoken from a deep sleep as its eyes went back to their normally wide and gleaming state. The bird opened it's mouth and cocked it's head to the side, emitting a seemingly confused chirp before flinching, his wings flipping slightly as he hopped from the shock. It's head turned quickly, looking at its surroundings before one of its spotted wings seemed to scratch its head.

The delicate male cocked it's head to the side once again as the small creature looked to the side, staring at its open wing. It was as if the bird had never realized before that it was the creature that it was intended to be. Noting the spotted appendage, its yellow and black feathered chest seemed to heave and its beak dropped open.

Finally, after holding this position for a bit, the meadowlark closed its beak and looked down at its perch. A gray, open palm met the bird's gaze. He hopped around on it, seemingly to test the functionality of his talons before turning himself around.

He met the side of the statue's body with a chirp and unfurled his wings, testing them before flapping them, tucking his knees in, and lifting himself off of the ground. The bird swayed a bit in the air before getting the hang of it and lightly gliding around to face the front of the stone pyramid. Turning his head and inspecting the statue with one eye, he untucked one leg and tapped it with a single talon.

It gave no response of course.

The bird went into a small tweeting frenzy, changing the pitch of its high-pitched song rhythmically as if laughing. Finally, he stopped, maneuvering himself to above the pyramid's hat, and landed (less gently than before, may I add). It shook its head, staring down at the statue's front and giving a little whistle of apparent disappointment.

Finally, the bird took off, flying towards a nearby building and landing in a tree, watching the birthday of two twins below. He waited and watched as the humans sang and then blew out the candles, flying over to a red-tinged, triangular windowpane to get a better vantage point.

As the party ended and the denizens of the quiet town started to thin out, the two twins packed up their belongings. It was time for them to go home. The bird looked in apon the increasingly emptying room and watched as the owners of said room left through the door and appeared below in the open doorway of the wooden shack.

The bus stop was silent when the humans and bird got there. He watched as the twins said goodbye and boarded the bus, their trusty pig following closely behind. As the bus started moving, the bird opened his wings and fell forward off of the branch he was perched on, gliding down and next to the windows of the bus before flying next to it. The humans looked out the window at the passing trees as the bird flew up next to their window, keeping pace with the bus.

"Hey, Dipper look," the female twin said, pointing at the small bird next to their window.

The male twin gazed at the bird, the creature returning it. "Woah. I've never seen a bird do-. What is it-?"

"Dipper, it reminds me of-...you know..."

"Yeah..I know, Mabel....Me too."

The bird, flapping its wings hard, opened it's beak and chirped at the twins, seeming to understand their conversation before falling back, letting the bus go ahead. They were out of Gravity Falls now and he was going to wait until next year, when they finally came back.
