Dipper kept thinking about the fox from yesterday and decided to look for it again. He grabbed his things and left before Mabel woke up. He went to the same place as before to see if the fox would come back. He looked around for a couple minutes before placing a trail of jerky in order to lure it. Dipper knew the forest well enough to know his way back home. He then, followd a trail of fox prints. The tracks ended almost abruptedly and he looked around,but found no fox. Then, he heard a small wimper by his feet. He looked dowen and noticed a hole, just big enough for a creature as big as a cat. There, he found her.

   She was within her den staring at Dipper with fear and curiousity. "Hey. Don't be scared. I won't hurt you," he smiled and grabbed some jerky and carefully stuck his hand out towards the blue fox. "Are you hungry girl?" The fox sniffed cautiously and took small nips before eating the whole thing, gratefully. "Come on out, it's okay," Dipper urged her to come out and held out more jerky as bribery. The fox carefully came out and ate the jerky. "Never thought I'd see a blue fox before. You are really special." The fox finished eating and looked at Dipper. He carefully tried to pet her, but she backed away in fear. "It's okay. I don't want to hurt you." She came a little closer again and allowed him to pet her. "You're very cute. Hmm, do you have a home?" Dipper asked this as a retorical question. In return, the fox shook her head causing Dipper's eyes to widen. "D-Did you just, say 'no'? C-can you understand me?" he asked baffled. Again, the fox shook her head, but this time to say yes.
