Chapter 1
"Oh my god," Sasha exclaims. "Becky, did you hear about the 'robotic' human escaping?"
"Dude, like it's so weird," Becky replies, popping her bumble gum. "Jerry Tsare says that his robotic human escaped from his lab but, like, he has no, like, proof that it's not, like, some made up craziness, like.." I sigh in annoyance. Of all the tables that those two had to sit at, they chose my table.
I run a hand gently through my recently dyed green hair. People were annoying these days. The first robotic human escaping from a scientist's lab in Produi happened over two weeks ago. And people at this high school were still talking about it as if it was this huge thing that happened just yesterday. It was getting on my nerves.
"Hey," my friend, Felix, greets as he sits down next to me at the table. "What's wrong bro? You look pissed."
I sigh. "It's just, everyone keeps talking about this stupid robotic human like it happened yesterday and it's getting on my nerves. The guy who supposedly created it is claiming that it escaped from his lab. However, he has no photos or nothing to prove that this was a real thing."
"So you don't believe it's true?" Felix asks quietly. I shake my head.
"It's cool to think about but where's the proof? Until I see a photo or something to prove that the scientist isn't lying, I will never believe it."
Felix grows quiet, picking at his lunch silently, most likely lost in his thoughts. I sigh, scooting my tray upwards and put my head down on the table. Everyone here at Fite High School believes that this stupid thing is true, and nobody believes me that it's not true. At all. Whatsoever. I doubt anyone in this world will ever believe me.

"Alright class, take your seats so we can get started." I was already in my seat when Mr. Fuentes tells everyone to take a seat.
Someone seats by me and I glance over. Some kid with red hair that eventually fades to black as it reaches his roots was sitting in the chair. His brown eyes focused upon his crossed hands that were in the surface of his desk. I roll my eyes and turned my attention back towards Mr. Fuentes.
"Okay," Mr. Fuentes exclaims. "Before we begin, I would like to welcome a new student to our class. Mark, if you could come to the front please." The guy sitting next to me stands up and slowly makes his way to the front.
"Oh my gosh, Becky look at his butt! His arms! His face! His is totes hot." I roll my eyes as Sasha drools over the new guy.
Mark turns around and faces the class. His brown eyes were dull as if he was bored.
"Alright, Mark. Could you introduce yourself to us, please?"
Mr. Fuentes asks, smiling encouragingly.
"Hello everybody, my name's Mark," he says in such a quiet tone. His dull eyes gave me the chills. "That's all I have to say."
"Thanks Mark," Mr. Fuentes says as Mark makes his way back to his seat. Mr. Fuentes talks about some lesson in English and I try my hardest to pay attention to what he is saying. I really do. But I just can't get Mark's dull, brown eyes out of my head.
Was he being abused at home? Was he bullied already? Did he hate this school so quickly? Wouldn't surprise me, considering this school does suck. Whatever it was, I had to find out.
