Run, runt, run!
Holden got into the Jeep with the most confused look spread across his face.
"What's she doing here?"
Roxie turned to face the window, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.
Walker smiled into the rear view.
"I invited her."
"Why?"
Roxie turned around and glared at Holden, "I'm sitting right here. Stop being a douche canoe."
Walker laughed, Holden didn't .
"I didn't know we were fraternizing with the little people, Walker."
Roxie turned back around as Walker took her hand.
"Don't worry about him."
"You're the one who told me I should be scared, Walker. That's not the best of invites."
"Yes, I guess I did." Walker smirked, "I told you what you needed to do..."
"Be afraid?" Roxie scoffed, "I am not afraid of you. I've faced worse monsters."
She didn't get the words out of her mouth fast enough when they were cruising into Seth's driveway and she spotted Jesse and Felicity.
"What the fuck?"
Holden blew out a whistled breath, "Ouch. I wouldn't even be that cruel."
"You bastard," Roxie turned to face Walker, "You knew they were going to be here."
Walker frowned, "I might have asked around."
"Why?" Roxie threw her arms up in frustration, "Are you wanting to piss me off? Make my life miserable?"
"Yes and yes, but you're with me tonight so they can watch..." Walker leaned over and unbuckled Roxie's seat belt, leaning into her, their faces aligned, "You with me.."
"I am not with you," Roxie rolled her eyes, "I can't believe I'm here."
Walker chuckled, motioning for Holden to get out and leave them be.
Roxie already felt the eyes on her as she and Walker made their way to the front path leading into Seth's house.
"Roxie?"
Felicity bit her bottom lip as she and Jesse stood together on the grass next to the walkway, "Are-are you here with Walker?"
Walker draped an arm over Roxie's shoulder and smiled, "She is, but she's not talking to whores this evening so run along."
"Walker!" Roxie yelped as Felicity turned away, her body trembling as she sobbed into the night.
"I've done nothing wrong," Walker's voice took on a serious tone, "Look at Jesse coddle her."
Roxie didn't want to be here. She figured this was partially why Walker brought her here—to humiliate her more.
"Jesse..."
Jesse nodded to Roxie, "We'll talk soon, I promise."
Walker pulled Roxie along and shook his head.
"They're here together and you're going to give them the time of day? Are you stupid?"
"Don't call me stupid, asshole."
"I didn't call you a stupid asshole," Walker joked.
"Quit it."
"OK, OK..." Walker chuckled, "You want a beer?"
"Uh, sure..."
Roxie smiled as she and Walker made their way further into the party where most of the seniors from Barnabas High and the local colleges were partying hard.
"I can barely hear myself think," Roxie said over the music. Walker nodded, handing her an open bottle, "Then I won't have to hear you talk to me."
"You're the thorn in my side, Wells."
"I want to be the cock in your pussy, Reynolds."
"Huh?!" Roxie leaned in because she hadn't heard what Walker had mumbled, "I'm sorry—I didn't,-"
"It's nothing, mouse," Walker shook his head, placing his hand on the small of her back as they continued on through the house, eventually coming across Seth.
"Walker, how goes it, homie!?" Seth gave Walker a high-five and then looked over at Roxie, "And who's this lovely lady?"
"I'm Roxie," Roxie shook Seth's hand and smiled. She'd only known Seth briefly before he graduated early and went off to college three years prior, "Reynolds."
"Seth Wheaton," he smiled, not paying any more attention to Walker, "Wanna ditch this guy and go talk somewhere in private?"
Walker frowned, his anger rising and he didn't know why. This woman was his to torment, tease, taunt, and drive crazy—not Seth's.
"She's with me."
Roxie turned to him and raised her eyes, "I am not."
"You are tonight."
Seth raised his hands in surrender, "If ya need me, I'll be around. Glad to have you all here, especially you, Miss Reynolds."
Roxie couldn't help but blush and giggle as she and Walker strolled away.
"He's an idiot."
"You can't stand for people to be nice to me, can you?"
Walker shook his head, "No."
"Well, I have feelings, Walker. I'm not garbage."
Walker didn't argue as they passed Holden and Eric and a few of his other friends.
"What the hell, bro?" Eric leaned in and pulled Walker closer, "You with her?"
"No, not technically," Walker said, downing his beer, "But I am tonight."
Walker kept a short leash on Roxie most of the evening. They didn't talk much to each other, but when they did it was either to banter or insult the other one.
"I'm getting tired," Roxie said as they lingered in the doorway of the den, "Can we go? I told my mom I'd be home before,-"
"Oh, fuck yes, Jesse..."
The speakers surrounding them blared with the sound of her voice and she looked at Walker with the face one could only describe as horror.
She turned to look at the television positioned in the living room and there she was—on video making love to her ex-boyfriend.
"You feel so good, Rox..."
Roxie's tears stung her eyes and she turned to Walker, stepping towards him until she was flush with his body, "You did this!"
Walker's eyes narrowed and he tried to grab her when she ran to the television, shutting off the system as people around her laughed or called her names. She was never disliked before, but now? What had she done to deserve this?
"Roxie!" Jesse's voice could be heard as Roxie tried to rush through the crowd of people who were becoming aggressively unfriendly. This wasn't her den—she wasn't even close to her neighborhood.
Jesse and Felicity weren't even a part of her den. They were closer to Walker's side than anything and they were only making things worse because she was all alone—alone and loathed.
Walker was next to her now and trying to get her attention.
"I hate you."
"I didn't do this, runt."
"You recorded it! You played it!"
Roxie grabbed her bag and rushed through the front door—into the night air and a full moon.
Holden and the others couldn't contain their laughter as Jesse and Felicity didn't even make an attempt to go after Roxie.
Walker watched her dash into the woods behind Seth's house.
"Who did it?!"Walker yelled, "Who the fuck did this?"
Holden heaved, "Bro, I hacked your phone when you wanted to download the answers to the tests for graduation and made a copy before you deleted it."
"Why?" Walker's eyes turned golden and he grabbed Holden's collar pushing him up against the wall, "Don't ever fuck with what's mine again—do you hear me?"
"Y-yeah...bro, what the hell is wrong with you?"
The crowd knew better than to interfere and most of them had dispersed or stepped outside.
"You don't mess with her—I do! You never go through my phone without my permission ever again."
"What? This isn't something you wanted to do? You..." Holden was about to drop truth bombs in front of their friends, but Walker snarled, "I thought you hated her."
Walker let him go and made his way to the back of the house where he last saw Roxie disappear into the night.
"You can't go too far, mouse—it was scary in here, but it's scarier out there," Walker sighed, making his way into the yard, "It's a full moon tonight, mouse!"
He called out into the darkness.
"You know what's out there, Roxie! I didn't do this, I swear...."
Walker shook his head and made his way deeper into the woods.
"Come on out, mouse," he commanded, "If I have to find you myself, you won't like it. I am going to put you over my knee and spank you."
He couldn't smell her—she'd hidden herself. If she was as fast as her father had been, she was long gone.
Good thing Walker was faster.
Gliding through the forest at his vampiric speed, Walker knew he was catching up to her and the thought of her bare ass draped over his lap while he spanked her bouncy globes made him shiver.
"Gods, I can't wait to get my hands on you..."
