Roxie skipped the assembly when Walker ran off—which he did a lot lately.
She followed him out to his car and as he started to drink some more juice, Roxie appeared in the passenger's seat.
"Hi."
"JESUS!" Walker yelled as she smiled at him, "I told you not to do that..."
"I have to practice. I can't go very far right now," Roxie shrugged, "Why did you run off? Where did you go?"
"What's with the questions? Are you my mother?"
"No, I'm your...friend.."
"Friend...right.." Walker chugged the contents of the flask, "How was the assembly?"
"I don't know. Something about not drinking at prom."
"No blood orgies. That's what they mean," Walker closed his eyes as if he was fondly remembering many blood orgies he'd been to.
"I've never been..."
"Really?" Walker chuckled, "Well, you're in for a treat this weekend, doll."
"I am not going to one of those, Walker," Roxie shuddered, "I can't—it's just—I'm not...I'm not going to be all crazed in front of people I don't know."
"Why not? People get paid to help us have those, ya know? Besides, I will be there. I won't let anything happen to you."
"It's not my thing," Roxie shrugged, "What if my mate is there and..."
"If your mate is there, he's into blood orgies," Walker wiggled his eyebrows, "And you know he's gonna want you to go to at least one every few years."
"Is that what we're supposed to be doing this weekend? Maybe I'll just stay home."
"No!" Walker grabbed her hand, "Please, come with me.."
"Well, I,-"
"She walks in beauty, like the night..Of cloudless climes and starry skies..And all that's best of dark and bright..Meet in her aspect and her eyes..Thus mellowed to that tender light...Which heaven to gaudy day denies"
"Are you reciting poetry to me?"
"I might be," Walker said, his gaze not leaving yours, "It's Tennyson."
"I didn't know you were into poetry, Walker. What happened to tormenting me? Have you changed your mind?"
"I am thinking of ways to torment you," Walker admitted, "One reason I am now in all of your classes."
Roxie smiled, "I kinda figured you were a true sadist, but a masochist, too? You want to be next to me so badly that you're willing to stay in school just to be with me."
Walker frowned, "That isn't what I meant."
"Oh?" Roxie smirked, "Well, let me get to lunch then. I'm famished."
"Wait, I'm hungry, too."
"I know what you're hungry for, we just don't have time."
He was flush with her now, holding her body close, breathing in her aroma.
"How do you know what I hunger for, little mouse?"
"Because I'm hungry for it, too."
"I bet I'd never drink again if you're what I had to choose from on my menu the rest of my life... "
Roxie gazed up at him and was about to reply when Eric and Oliver made their way towards them.
"Oh, I forgot! May we come closer?" Eric joked,as he bowed like a peasant, but the look on Walker's face told him that he had interrupted," Sorry... "
Roxie pulled away and smiled.
"No, it's OK. I think Walker found what he was looking for, right?"
Walker didn't take his eyes off her.
"I think I have... "
"Don't do this here...you've no idea what you're talking about."
"I don't..you're right, Roxie," Walker admitted, "How do I do this? I don't even know what's going on in my mind."
Eric cleared his throat, "Hey, Rox, can we have Walker for a while?"
Roxie nodded, "He's all yours."
Walker watched Roxie turn away only to see Jesse coming towards her now that she was easy prey.
"No, she can stay!"
"I don't want him looking at you."
"It's just a dress, baby. No one's going to take it off me except for you."
"You're mine...not his."
"He's a client. You've always been so jealous."
"You like it—you like it when I'm possessive."
Roxie shook her head, the vision disappearing.
"Why?" Roxie whispered to Walker, "I'm sure you need to be with your friends, Walker. I am not going to stand in the way of your bro time." She smiled at him, "Meet me for lunch then."
"I like it when you're with me, babe."
"Yeah, but this is all you and the guys."
"They love you."
"I love them, too, but we're always together."
"I can't get enough of you—I will never get enough."
"You OK, bro?" Eric said as he watched Roxie walk back towards the science building which led to the cafeteria.
"Of course I am," Walker scoffed, "What's up?"
"Blood fest this weekend?"
"Hell yeah, I am ready," Walker couldn't wait to see his—girl--walk around naked with blood lust in her eyes, lust for him.
"Look, don't get all pissed off at me, but I'm your friend and I need to know what the hell is going on with you and Roxie..." Eric pressed as Oliver stood a few feet behind him, "You can let us know."
"She's a toy for me to play with—and just me," Walker narrowed his eyes, "I've said this before and I won't fucking keep repeating myself."
"It's just,-" Eric began, but Walker had his hand around his friend's throat with Oliver trying to intervene, "Walker.." Eric wheezed, trying to fight him off.
"I said, shut the fuck up how I bide my time," Walker let go of Eric who crumbled to the ground, coughing.
"OK, man, I'm sorry.." Eric croaked, massaging his throat, "You do what you want.."
"I fucking will."
Walker leaned over and helped Eric off the ground.
"No hard feelings?"
"Yeah, as long as you don't try to kill me next time. Damn..."
"You can't go around starting fights over me..."
"If someone has anything to say about you that I don't like, I will make them wish they'd never been born."
