Kiss and Tell

Walker drew back his head and smiled at her.

Roxie wasn't smiling.

"Did I hurt you?"

"I..no..I..."

"It's just a kiss, mouse. It doesn't mean a damn thing."

He studied her face—her eyes were clouded and he couldn't read her, but he was hoping there wasn't regret. Walker twitched inside of her, causing Roxie to smirk.

"You're still in me."

"I know."

"Are you going for a second round?"

"I was thinking about it."

Her fingers were cupping his biceps, but he wasn't sure if she was pulling him in or pushing him away.

"You feel too good," Walker admitted. He was a hundred percent hoping this woman was the worst lay of his life and she was the best.

"I have no complaints," Roxie said, her eyes sparkling, "I've heard all of the stories, Walker. I guess they're true then."

"What stories?"

"How good you are in bed."

He narrowed his eyes and smiled, "I've been with a few people..."

"A few? Are the other hundreds lying?"

Walker chuckled and shook his head, leaning in and kissing her on the forehead before slipping out of her heat and toppling onto the spot beside her.

"I haven't been with hundreds of people."

"It's probably close to it."

"Maybe close to a hundred."

"Seriously?"

"No."

He was on his side so she rolled on to hers to face him.

"What's happening between us, Walker?"

"Nothing. I wanted to sleep with you and we did. You said so yourself, it's just sex," Walker smiled, his eyes turning from brown to silver and back again.

"I didn't realize your eyes change to silver and to gold.."

"Courtesy of my parents," he smiled, "My mom was silver and dad was gold. I guess I tend to be more like him these days. It's a rarity to have three colors, but here I am. Most people don't ever see the silver, actually."

"It's nice," Roxie said, "And you are definitely rare, Walker. Crazy and rare."

"Stay the night with me."

"I can't."

"Why not? Would you rather have your mom breathing down your neck or me?" Walker wiggled his eyebrows, his chocolate orbs beaming with delight.

"Ugh, neither..."

"Oh, come on, Roxie," he said, "I will even get you home early enough to get new clothes for school."

"What about my car?"

"The back lot is secure."

"We're not an item, Walker."

"So?"

"So, that's what people do when they're an item. They stay the night together."

"You ever heard of one-night stands?"

"Is that what this is?"

"I want more than one night."

"Why?"

"Because you feel good and we'll be mated off soon anyway. Why not have fun?"

"Because you told me yourself not to do this."

"To do what?"

"To get involved!"

"We're not involved."

"We're slipping into territory that we shouldn't be in. What about that thing you said? If people..." she rolled onto her back and sighed.

"If people what?"

"If people fall in love and they're not mated?"

"Is that what you're afraid of? Falling in love with me?"

"Ugh, no, I could never love you."

"Well, then there's nothing to worry about because I could never love you, either."

He rolled onto his back and they stared at the ceiling, silencing themselves.

"It's going to rain," he said, "I can feel it."

"It's going to get colder," Roxie sighed, "Like it always does."

"Stay with me tonight."

"I have to shower."

"Let's shower together."

Roxie turned to face him. She couldn't believe she'd slept with Walker Wells and it was the most magnificent feeling she'd ever had in her entire life.

"I hope I didn't ruin my dress," she said as his eyes caught hers.

"I'm sure Emma would fix it for you," Walker smiled, "It's not like I gave her time to alter it. Do you like it?"

"The dress? Yes, it's beautiful."

"Maybe you're mate like it, too. You can wear it on your wedding day," Walker said, "I like it. It looks amazing on you."

"I need a veil and shoes and.." Roxie sighed, "A huge bouquet of flowers."

"Is that what you want?"

"Yes," Roxie smiled, "I want flowers everywhere."

"What if your mate is allergice?"

"Fake flowers are fine."

"You'd do that for your mate?"

"Isn't that was mates are supposed to do? Compromise?"

"I guess so."

"I need to shower," Roxie said, "I feel..."

"Thoroughly fucked?"

Roxie giggled, "Yeah, something like that."

"Let me go run the water and we can shower together."

"Walker.."

"Oh, stop. I just had my cock inside of you—showering is nothing compared to that."

Roxie watched him walk away—his perfect ass sashaying as he did.

Her body tingled for more—she wanted more of him. Realizing he might be able to read her, she closed off her thoughts and tried to think of something else.

"Hey, I've got a lot of shampoos and stuff to choose from," Walker said, reappearing in the doorway, "If you're uncomfortable sleeping naked with me, I do have robes—clean ones."

"Do you come here a lot?"

"Yeah, I need to—to get away from things at home."

"Oh...yeah.."

Walker helped her into the shower and moved her underneath the water. He watched as the water cascaded over her body and grew absolutely jealous at all of the little droplets touching her skin.

"What really happened, Walker? Why won't you tell me the truth?" She asked as her eyes met his while he was shampooing his hair.

"My dad hit you."

"He—what?!"

"He hit you, but he didn't mean to. You blocked him from hitting me."

Roxie frowned. She didn't remember, but she didn't feel right about the situation.

"He shouldn't do that to you."

"Don't worry about me," Walker said, "Turn around so I can wash your hair."

Roxie hesitated, but allowed Walker to do as he'd said. She enjoyed having him massage her scalp, taking great care of her needs. Lathering up a sponge, she felt him begin to clean her body, taking great care of the spot between her thighs.

"Rinse off so I can get this shampoo out of my eyes," Walker chuckled, quickly washing himself and then rinsing when Roxie was done.

"Don't fight for me, mouse," Walker said, "I know what is on your mind. Just—let it go."

"I won't tell anyone," Roxie said, "I just..he shouldn't hurt you like that."

Turning off the water and stepping out, Walker grabbed a towel and wrapped it around himself and then grabbed one for Roxie and did the same.

"I shouldn't have put you in that position, mouse," Walker said, an apology on the tip of his tongue, but he let it go.

"You want to kiss me again, don't you...?"

"I just can't help myself," Walker shrugged, "I'll respect those boundaries, though. You told me not to,-"

Roxie stood on her tiptoes and planted a nice, lingering kiss on Walker's plump lips—much to this shock.

"What was that for?"

"I just couldn't help myself."
