Epilogue

"Desperate times calls for desperate measures."

No, no, no!

Tyler was racing on his horse, he took the long way around the woods so that he could ride without any hindrance from the trees. It would be faster this way anyways. But his mind was in shambles, he didn't stop Seto.

He was too slow!

And...And...Seto knew! How did he know the one thing Seto should never remember. Seto shouldn't know about Shelby anymore, not since his memory was erased, they should've been erased.

Nothing made sense.

Dammit!

Everything will be for nothing if Seto isn't here. He's worked so hard this past fucking year and a half so that Seto wouldn't have to hide anymore. So that the realm couldn't do anything to hurt him, but...but now he's gone.

Tyler blinked back his tears, he would bring him back. Screw everything else. Seto, his best friend...his first friend. Seto meant more to him than anything else, yes Shelby was his friend...though she probably didn't think it anymore since he started ignoring her after the Seto incident. But Seto was his closest friend, and it hurt to see the way the realm would treat someone as kind as him.

Seto was no monster, but the world firmly believed such things that Seto believed them too. He believed them about himself.

Tyler could see the camp in the distance, the sun was rising and he was screaming, hoping someone would hear him.

"Hey! Heeeeyyyy!" As he approached the walls he could see a guard stirring at the top.

"Tyler, is that you?" It was Kyle.

"Yes, its urgent, find anyone!"

Kyle nodded and rushed down to get help as Tyler galloped into the camp. The sound of the hooves beating against the ground caused quite a ruckus.

Tyler forced his horse to slow down before dismounting.

"Tyler, what's wrong?!" The first people that arrived were Alesa and Jordan, soon followed by Seto's friends not including Adam and Ty.

"I-Its Seto. He's...he's..."

Alesa's eyes widened but Jerome was faster, "What the nether happened? Spit it out?!"

"Seto's gone! I tried to stop him, but he used magic against me. He kept me back and jumped through a portal, it was weird looking, with a black frame and purple center. But not only that, Seto broke the portal! We have to do something!"

"Tyler, calm down, calm down," Jordan tried to put a hand on Tyler's shoulder.

Tyler shrugged him off, "How do we fix this, please. I'm not losing my best friend. No one deserves happiness as much as him!"

"You should leave him alone. He made his choice, why don't you respect it."

Tyler spun and glared at whoever the fuck made that comment. It was that same woman that appeared earlier today. Fucking Alista who helped them earlier, she was a fucking ass, "Just who the fuck are you! What right do you have to get in our business?"

"None, but I still state that you should leave the sorcerer be. Where he is now, is a lot better than where he was before."

"He just jumped through a fucking unknown portal into an unknown world, and there's no way for me to get to him."

"Maybe he wanted it that way--"

"Why!?"

"I don't read human minds, it hardly matters why anyways. I have one last thing to say. Seto made his choice, because of his choice a series of events will occur and are occurring now..." Alista looked at the growing crowd of people. Jordan's friends, Sonja, Tucker, Tom, and Wag appeared, rebels, Dan and Travis, Ross, Red, and Barney, even Sub who was accompanied by guards but allowed some freedom of movement.

"It would be in everyone's best interest...to leave that portal closed...forever."

Alista bowed, turned and walked away.

A rage was bubbling inside of Tyler, "Fuck you! You're just a cold ass prick, what would you understand. Seto is my best friend, you'll never understand what it means to care for someone."

Alista paused for a moment and then carried on, a sword appeared and she vanished.

"Dammit!" Tyler cursed, he stomped his feet in frustration and chewed on his own lip. He spun on his heel and looked at everyone else, "Please, someone. We have to break Seto out of that portal, someone agrees, right?!"

"The nether portal is broken!" Red gasped, Ross trembled.

"Yes! Is that what that black portal is called! Seto broke it, he jumped in and broke it!" Tyler rushed to Red, gripping him tightly by the shoulders. Desperation clear in his eyes, "You have a friend in there too, you'll want to help, right!"

"Of course!" Barney shouted.

"Thank you!, Who else, we need to figure this out now, please??" Tyler looked around, Jerome looked unsure. Jerome wanted too, but...

"Tyler, you need to calm down, we'll think this through, alright. Get some rest, you nee--"

"Jordan, what is there to think about! This is Seto!"

"The source of all our problems..." Someone muttered, and in his desperate state, Tyler broke. He tackled the person who said that, Tyler had to be yanked off and knocked out. He was dragged away from everyone in the confusion.

Seto was alone.

~~~~~
After leaving Tyler with his horse, Mitch spent the rest of the day walking to the castle. His excuse was he didn't tie down his horse and simply had to head home without one, it honestly wasn't a huge problem. He had a weapon on him, and walking was easy. He was physically fit for these sorts of situations.
However when Mitch returned he was forced quickly into his more kingly duties, he'd been putting too many things off and unfortunately would not be able to leave for the next few weeks. It was fine however, he knew eventually things like this would happen.
It was perhaps a few days after he'd been stuck in the castle that a letter came. And odd letter. Odd in the way it was addressed, he specifically told Jordan to send a letter addressed in a specific way should anything happen when he was not around.
When Mitch opened it, it was very short. There was no name, just a letter that said, Seto is gone.
Mitch read those three words and let out an agitated sigh, not at anyone in particular, but only because he could do nothing from this castle.
Mitch also had other things on his mind, war.
He wasn't sure what to do now, war seemed unavoidable at this point, but it refused to start.
Mitch wasn't dumb, he knew then king would not flat out declare war. It would be idiotic to do so. All this time the king has been pushing, and manipulating, and using people just so that someone else could do what he wanted.
Leaving the only other person to be him.
He would have to do it, there was no choice. War was unavoidable, but no matter how he looked at it, he couldn't come up with a solid reason why Duhita should go to war.
He knew plenty of reasons why the King needed to be dethroned.
He was an immoral, son of a bitch. He attacked his own allies to make people believe it was some sort of outside evil. The emotional trauma he put Seto through was another reason, he assassinated his own son, and tried to kill the other. He sent a "monster" to kill Seto.
Plenty of these were reasons to hate the king, but not reasons to go to war. And he was sure the King knew that. He was forcing Mitch to declare war, but making it so Mitch was in the bad light.
The King was far smarter than people would think, and Mitch respected that of the man, especially when he was much younger. The king's level of mind was almost as good as a Duhitian's when it came to planning and strategy.
Another reason why Mitch just couldn't go to war was that Duhita was already in its own war, one that had been brewing for ages. A civil war of sorts, a war for the Morvics.
Going to war with Emedo now would be perfect for Morvics looking for a chance to strike. If he wanted to do anything with minimal casualties, he needed to address that problem, which he could only do with Jerome's help. Yes, he'd been thinking about the situation, he just had no idea how to approach it.
Mitch slumped down in his chair and inwardly groaned into his arms. Of course he had to become King at the worst moment, and he was proving his father's belief that Mitch would never be able to rule. He was weak, someone like him could never be the strong ruler this kingdom needed.
Mitch coughed and sat back up, how long had it been since the last time it happened? He didn't want to remember.
~~~~~

Seto winced in pain. The portal closing had cut up his arm, and was bleeding quite a lot. Seto looked around. The nether portal behind him was dormant, and in front of him was a staircase.

He remembered the staircase, down the staircase would be set of double doors. And behind the doors would be a study filled with books. It was the place he saw the death of Ross' friend.

Seto climbed down the stairs while clutching his bleeding arm. The blood had soaked through his clothes and made his fingers stick together.

For a quick moment, when he reached the bottom, he let go of his arm to open the door with his bloodied hand. He expected to see a dead person, but when he opened the door, the room was dark and empty.

Seto sighed, maybe it hadn't happened yet. That was good at least.

Seto looked down the hallways and swore he saw someone.

"Hello~?" Seto hurried down the hall, every now and then he caught glimpses of a person, "Excuse me, who are you?"

It was like a wild goose chase, eventually Seto stopped just inside a room. He saw a cauldron and brew stands too, a lot like Wag's set up.

Seto walked cautiously towards it, he looked at the brewing stand and recognized the familiar pink colored glow of a healing pot.

Was he supposed to take it? He looked around for some sign, the only sigh he got was the growing faint feeling he had. All that running made him lose more blood.

Seto decided to just take it, he figured whoever led him hear intended it. He also had the vibe that they were no threat.

Seto grabbed the potion and drank its contents. He immediately began to feel better, but his arm, clothes and fingers were still covered in blood. He wondered if there was water in the nether, probably not.

Then, how'd whoever led him here brew the potions?

Seto didn't know, but he decided to return back to that study room. Right now, it was the only room he felt comfortable in.

Because Seto knew, he wasn't leaving anytime soon, and he made sure of that.
