This is my entry for round 3 of Evergreen | Graphic Contest by ii_mermxid!
The prompt was a mythical character that we were assigned.

Mine was the Youkai, a creature from japanese folklore.

I'd never heard of this before, so I did some research, and this was what I found online:

"Youkai (妖怪, yōkai) is a term mostly associated with Japanese folk creatures and ghosts. The term can also apply broadly to anything that is a supernatural being or legend, from any culture. Because there are thousands of stories of magical beings around the world, the different types of youkai are endless."

That...did not narrow it down much,  so in the end I clicked onto images and built my cover around whatever images I could find and whatever I knew about Japanese culture.

I can't even begin to describe the grief that ensued trying to make the youkai image better quality. It basically ended up being me completely painting over the original image, which is why the cover took something like 4-5 hours!
