The screaming banshee did it's work again and I woke up.
What I saw at the door was shocking and something I never want to remember. Jenny stood at the door staring directly at me with her arms crossed.

“you're not good at running ” she said “but that's not my problem ” she added.

“uh--- what're you talking about? ” I asked.

“I thought you were the smart one, figure it out ” she said turning around to leave but not before saying “oh your grandpa said Hi”.

And that people is certainly not how I want my day to begin.

While having my bath, I remembered that during the night, my nightmares kept repeating itself. Jenny digging her finger nails into my chest and dragging out my heart while I kept on running which I think made her say this morning that I wasn't good at running.

If that wasn't why she said that, what made her say that? How did she know of my nightmares? If that's not her problem, what is? What had she done while I was asleep? Why was she staring at me while I was asleep and the most important of all, what did she mean by ‘ your grandpa said hi ’?

It kinda made me wonder if she knew that Lucius, my grandad was a psychopathic serial killer. He's no longer my grandad, I'll call him grandad when the name begins to suit him again. For now, I'll stick with Lucius...

“I really need a soothsayer to explain what the hufflepuff is going on in my life!! ” I said to myself as I got dressed for school.

“mum? ” I called out going down the stairs as I remembered that I haven't seen her since yesterday after she dropped me at school.

I walked into the kitchen only to meet Jenny by the counter with a smug smile on her face. Not again! Can't she ever stop being creepy? I really need to know where my mum is and something tells me I'm not going to get an answer soon..

“where's my mum? ” I asked.

“where's Eva? ” she retorted.

Told y'all I wasn't getting an answer.

“you know better than me where Eva is” I said

“enlighten me ” she said glaring.

“whatever happened to her was all your fault. Need me to say it again? ” she added

“it wasn't. Why do you keep blaming me when you know clearly it was your doing!! ” I shouted.

“oh yeah---- who wouldn't keep their mouth shut? ” she asked standing straight

At this question, I didn't know what to say. It was my fault, I didn't keep my mouth shut

“what's the matter, ran out of reasons to prove that it wasn't your fault when it clearly was? ” she said.

“stop saying it like it was all my fault, you started it first. Most of it was your fault ” I shouted

“keep saying it to feel better, there's no way you can prove yourself anymore. Everyone already knows you did it. ” she said and walked away but not before grinning widely at me

After this conversation, memories of the past, the ones I hoped to forget someday flooded my mind and tears poured down my eyes. I wish my mum never had a sister like this.

“LUNA MIDNIGHT BLACK!! ” Lily screeched stomping towards me as I was at my locker. Yeah, I still went to school after what Jenny and I had this morning, I couldn't stay in the same house with her, I choose life.

“what the fudge? ” I asked her not really interested in what she had to say.

“you look like shit ” she said standing in front of me to stop me from walking any further.

“good morning to you too ” I replied rolling my eyes...correction, my swollen and baggy eyes...

“we have calculus this morning, in case you've forgotten ” she said and I groaned looking up to heaven to see if God was watching.

“we can do this” she said sternly looking at me

“Together ” we both said walking to the class we both dreaded.

The final bell rang and after getting my books, I walked out of hell!

“wow! I'm alive ” I muttered to myself

“Luna, you need to tell me what's going on. You're not yourself, this isn't you” lily said walking beside me.

“you're looking for the old me? Check the mall” I retorted.

I know, I know, harsh... But I was trying to push her away, I didn't want any more people dying but lily wouldn't get it because she keeps caring. I didn't want anyone to get close to me but lily kept making that really hard for me

“li---oh my God Luna, I've not seen you since forever ” someone said walking up to us. I sighed

“yeah Clara. Happy new year ” I replied forcing a smile

“what happened to you? You look like you've seen a ghost ” she said

“you don't like my face, use the door” I replied and she rolled her eyes turning back to lily while lily kept looking at me worriedly.

“there's a girls----” I trailed off, I didn't hear all of what she had to say once I heard ‘girls ’

“so---luna, you coming? ” she asked

“Nah, I'm busy ” I replied walking off. I'm not about to put more girls in danger. I've caused enough damages.

“you're home ” I heard someone say as soon as I opened the front door.

“unfortunately ” I replied as I saw who spoke. But where the hell is my mum?

“mom, I can't find my---- You!! ” someone came down the stairs but stopped talking when the person saw me and glared at me.

And that someone was Rebecca, my dearest cousin.

Note the sarcasm.

“dearest cousin! I'm so happy to see you too” I replied while she continued glaring. Not that I cared.

“oh and Luna, my dear daughter and I would be staying here  and your mum won't be around for two weeks. I'm sure you'll enjoy our company ” Jenny said and walked off leaving me with a glaring Rebecca.

“stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours then we'll have no reason to interact ” I said to Rebecca climbing up the stairs but being the devil she is, she held me back, digging her finger nails into my skin and I hissed at her.

“there's always a reason for us to interact. You know, since we both know Eva ” she said putting more stress on Eva.

I rolled my eyes, I knew she was going to bring the matter of Eva up, I knew what she was getting at, totally expected it.

“believe it or not, it wasn't my fault. ” I said returning her glare

“I don't believe you ” she replied.

What's wrong with her? That's why I said believe it or not. Because really, I don't care if she believed me or she didn't.... I've lost hope in humans...

“I don't care” I retorted voicing out my thoughts as I yanked my wrist out of her grip and walked into my room closing the door behind me.

Just as I was about to sit on my bed and think about the life I'm about to start living, the door creaks as it opens.

“great! Now what? ” I said turning towards the door

“my mum's using the guest room and her things are in the second guest room so she won't let me stay there and she won't let me share a room with her. ” Bec replied “or would you prefer I stay in your mom's room? I wouldn't ----”

“you wouldn't dare!! ” I cut her off glaring at her as she smirked and plopped down onto the bed. I think I'll rather die right now!!
